I’m an interior designer and love using colour but if the client wants a neutral palette, that’s what they get. I think the designers have done an amazing job on this house. The eye on detail, pattern, texture and materials is great and very well thought out. They have also used interesting lighting and other products you don’t see everywhere. Good job!
Why would anyone get mad at you for expressing your feelings about a space? Spaces are individual to the inhabitants. I own a design firm, and it is imperative that the home reflects how my clients live, considering their colour preferences, personal art collections, and cultural expression. Some people prefer neutral spaces as it makes them feel calm...quite possibly they have an extremely stimulating and hectic job and require a place of refuge when they get home. Others such as one of the clients I am working with on their new build are completely opposite. She loves the vibrancy of bold colours as they make her feel joyful.
Absolutely stunning! The architectural details...the shapes, the stone and stone-like fabrics even are spectacular. And yet the tones are so calming. One of the best designed homes I've ever seen.
I think it’s beautiful. Elegant, yet cozy at the same time, lots of spaces to spend time with family or have a break from each other ))) I especially like the office. Dark Academia is very difficult to pull off and this looks like one of those times when the designer has done that
I am sure this house wouldn't appeal to many Canadian people but south European/Mediterranean would love it. It's bright, airy and modern. I am impressed and I will use some elements for my own flat.
Looks like 95 % of all the others on this site. Interesting how interior design has so much more in terms of of material options & variety over the last 20 plus years but it appears everyone uses the same handful of color schemes & materials over & over.
Oh my GAWDziz!! There are SO MANY different and unique design elements throughout the home that I've never seen before! This is beyond stunning ... no words to describe how BEAUTIFUL this home is. OUTSTANDING job!
"texture-ality" is not a word, texturally is. you could have said something like, "neutral colour schemes benefit from dynamic texture" or "visual interest in a neutral scheme can be achieved by layering different textures" there are lots of ways to articulate your point.
hello dear home designers, can u make a video on how a designer or professional engineer can make a perfect workspace at home or regarding how to make the best out of office work space
This reminds me of gwenith Paltrow la home. AD did a tour like a year ago. Its very nice. On the. Topic of house and home. Everything now on the channel has a very similar look. Water fall island, ikea cabits, and light Wood. I really think they should expand the channel to have shopping trips and design education
Typical rich people buying Canadian homes they’ll visit a few times a year from other continents making the housing market skyrocket to new highs meanwhile most Canadians cannot afford to live in cities like Oakville, Toronto etc anymore. But cool design i guess.
@@felixscorpian and that’s a problem. it used to be possible not too long ago to own a single detached home in Ontario with a middle class salary. Now it’s reserved for the multimillionaires from other countries that only increase the demand for these luxury houses that waste resources and land & don’t benefit Canadians.
How do you know they rich? They probably just make a good living. Feel people have negative comments or just envious of people who can afford things like this. The housing market is going up because of inflation in these countries not rich people.🤣
@@tiffanycurtis4794 are you being serious? This house alone is like 4 millions maybe even more, and they have at least 500k in luxury furnitures. Mind you this is a “pied a terre” for the few times a year they visit Canada. The housing market is at an all time high because there’s more demand than the supply. Its literally economy 101. Developers don’t want to do housing projects for the middle class anymore, therefore those people move further and further away each year from the city because prices only go up and salaries don’t follow. I’ve got friends who are doctors that cannot afford Toronto anymore. That’s crazy.
Listen, y’all: House and Home definitely has an aesthetic, and it skews rich, neutral and safe. Some good execution in this particular design, but nothing artistic, architectural or layered. And certainly nothing accessible. I come here on the off chance there will be stand out work from one of my faves (eg Collette van den Thillart), but often it is more of the same bland stuff. You’re not going to find anything groundbreaking on this channel. If you’d like to learn anything about color, texture, pattern, textiles and wall coverings, Art, vintage or antique furniture, or architecture, I strongly recommend checking out House and Garden’s channel, or Homeworthy.
Oh! And if you like modern clean Canadian design, but something not quite so boring or routine and house and home, I also suggest checking out West of Main. (Woman-owned design firm and channel out of Ottawa)
Love the dining table! But there’s too many dining areas. No library. Too many chairs in the meditation room when there should actually be room to sit on the floor and be grounded! All in all, love the materials in the entire home.

I’m calling BS on the nature outside! She talked about the beautiful views of nature throughout but kept all the blinds drawn. I bet there’s some ugly mess out those windows 😂
This is a pied-à-terre?! A boring way to spend a lot of money. The designer is using a lot of annoying catch words and phrases but really, many of her words are made up. Don’t be so pretentious.
There is nothing cozy or relaxing about this home. While I love white, the excess here feels sterile. The mirrors in the main bathroom appear too small and look cheap, and I dislike the lighting options throughout the home. I do like the kitchen island, but that's about it.
Please don’t get mad at me, but I love neutral color, palette homes. Furniture and decor It brings a sense of calm. This is stunning to me.😄

What a beautiful home, LOVE the kitchen!!!
Stunning. It’s right you are proud of your team.
This is simply gorgeous. 👌🏽
Stunning Design!
Just WOW! Fantastic design. Marble in the kitchen is superb! Creativity is amazing. 🤩
A 6500 sq foot pied-a- terre! Very earthy and calming.
Stunning!! The luxurious details & finishes used in this house are exquisite!
Designer: "How many sofas and dining areas do you want in your home?" Client: "Yes."
Simply beautiful!!!❤❤
I love this place, absolutely gorgeous!❤

Exactly! They are using only what is beneficial for them. But not for the sake of the design.
Clad wall is done correctly. And more important it is wrapped around the corner. It should be like that.
Looks great to me. Not everyone wants their house to look like a rainbow threw up in it.
So true, It does not look bad at all...just boring, 'same-y' and uninspiring.

could you share what stone you used in the kitchen? it's beautiful
It’s called Corfu marble
This is beautiful. The Batman cave office is so good... ❤

Color combination is absolutely right. 60 to 30 to 10. Thats why it does not look cheap.
Absolutely GORGEOUS!!!
Plaster on the fire place is good too.
Very calm and serene. I love the the stones they used - island, back of the stove, and the powder room. Wait, is the hood also made of stone?
Simply stunning.
Stunning 🔥🔥🔥
This home is stunningggg!! A dream
The last few homes featured have looked so much alike in colour palette and design style. I'm hoping to see something different again soon.
Is there a way you can link the light fixtures and dining chairs?

Why are you being so picky? Get a life. This isn't a school room
It isn’t a word , I was wondering if anyone noticed lol
Gostei dos materiais e cores. Lindo.
Where are the counter stools from in the kitchen?
They are custom

only thing I would change is turning the stone wall in the office into a wood wall
what the name of the track in the background?

Rich Canadians also do that in other countries. Nothing new here so go whine about it somewhere else 🙄🙄🙄
most Canadians wouldn’t be able to afford a home like this anyways 😂

Cold.
A 6,500 SF pied-a-tier??? Do you even have a concept of what pied-a-tier means? You kind of lost me after that introduction.
Light fixture on the ceiling much better and modern solution than pendants. Please try stretched ceiling next time.
High end but boring.
Pretty boring. Get some funky colors and styles on here, please!
How about no ❤

“Inviting” and “drama” don’t go together.
It feels really cold and nouveau riche.

This is not an airport. You do not need to announce your departure
In a bathroom tiles should go all way up. No point to stop tiles.

she didn't seem pretentious at all... the only catch phrases i heard was "moment" and "moody" and " vibe" she's a designer what do you expect?

More beige on beige with a hint of black. Boring. Can't you persuade your clients to use some color?
