Like this video, but since I’m pulling dishwasher out do I need to remove everything inside?
You forgot to replace the grommet for the diverted motor.
The grommet leaks and that’s what causes the diverted motor to fail.
Will have the same problem again after a few washes
I agree. I'm on my 3rd grommet and now have multiple on hand so I keep changing when I get a chance.
Is the grommet inside or underneath? Does it require removing the motor?
Just got the motor taken out and was going to order a new one when I saw your comment. The dishwasher works fine, just leaking out of here.
Hi my KitchenAid lower arm doesn't spin, is this the part that's driving it?
I'm having the same problem with my Kitchenaid. Working on it now to find out the problem. I'll let you know...somehow.
@@11145131 Is your model with the 3-prong dynamic wash arm? I did spend $400 in total to replace the parts just few month ago and it seems like it's failing me again. I'm sick of it. To answer your question, yes, the diverter motor also spins the arm mechanically.
@@ken33935 My lower arm wont spin, and I've now replaced the motor, the motor cover that has the 4 tooth pinion gear, and the entire lower arm. All of it is installed correctly and oriented correctly but the stupid thing just won't spin. At this point I think the computer is just not sending the signal to the motor to turn. I'm furious, because this was a $1400 dishwasher and it only lasted 3 years.
@@AV8R_1 I am sorry to hear that. I moved on for a Miele and is very satisfied.
@@ken33935 $1400 dishwasher three years later $300 worth of parts, still not working. I’m done. Going to get a new dishwasher this weekend.
What is the best way to test the diverter motor to verify that it is bad?
ery simple jusst disassemple the part and check 240V 1 min run around 4 rotation
Why the hell on earth do you need to disassemble half the dishwasher just to replace this easily replaceable part?!? This is idiotic! Three T10 Torx screws and three wire clips... FFS... oh... and its a T15, not a T10
Yeah. Does it look like this repair can be accomplished with only disconnecting the water supply, drain and power? I don't see needing the access to the inside of the washer.
Thank you , I was just thinking the same thing?
