There is no shame in returning if things are not working out for you. Better come back sane than being depressed and reducing your quality of life.

Am asking myself the same thing what is Shame to return to your home country??? You live there before. Life adjustment is never be easy. When I moved to US with family we have everything but to adjust with culture Weather and People it was pretty difficult. She have to accept the mission because she was so excited to come back. Now she is so regrettable to move back. Give us a break to process your mind Lady!!!!!!

There is NO shame in returning home - During COVID - many people in the WORLD desperatly returned to their countries to preserve their DIGNITY. Nigerians should be PATRIOTIC and BRAVE and RESPONSIBLE ENOUGH TO go back to their Country and Build NIGERIAN - Vote Out CORRUPT leaders and CORRUPT POLITICAL PARTIES. IF you continue to JAPPA - Who else will re- build your Countries. There has to be a Generation of NIGERIANS That has to SACRIFICE to re-build the COUNTRY. FIGHT LIKE HELL GOR YOUR COUNTRIES- STOP BEING SELFISH JUMPING OFF SHIP AND JAPPA - IT IS COWARDICE.

When you have really made money, there is no better place to enjoy it than at home with your OWN people. that is why the rich Nigerians are in Nigeria. For those shaming people who decide to return, most of them prefer you to be there to keep funding their lifestyle while stressing yourselves out. It's not out of love for you, it is so they could exploit you or keep enjoying what you left behind. Why will people question an adult on decisions to come back to their roots when they feel so?
    Interesting video and very informative.

There's no place like home. I lived in the U.S. for 10 years. I spent the 11th year traveling around the world. In the end, I returned to my homeland, Jamaica to settle. My income is from the U.S. So, affording my monthly expenses is not as bad as if I were earning in Jamaican Dollars. Life is much more peaceful in Jamaica.

When people very close to you begin to kpai, you then realise that life is really short; you ask yourself if you kpai now, did you really live? Then you decide to make decisions according to your preference not minding the side noise. 'Live before you leave' becomes your motto. There shouldn't be any shame returning to your place of origin. That statement you made; suppressing the needs of your kids to fund people back home... it hit me really deep... Thank you for this video, my sis!

The system in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East is very simple. There is no pathway to citizenship. If the husband is the one on work visa, (usually the case as Kuwait does not permit husbands to be on dependent visa), there is none for the wife. The husband also has to pay a dependent's fee to the government and it is very expensive. Once your work visa is no longer renewed, your stay there is over and it is bye bye. So Japa to Middle East is not permanent. You must return after some years. Let me also say it clearly: Japa without a pathway to citizenship is an incomplete Japa. I speak from an economic standpoint and I do not think it is a matter of shame at all. I also came back to Nigeria after 5 years abroad and I am investing heavily with what I managed to pick up from there. In fact, we built a house in 3 months from foundation to completion and it made a lot of noise in the village. Fear sef no gree any relations ask me why I come back.

It’s a great thing in terms of opportunities for the younger & qualified ones among us however, if not managed well we see mishaps in the industries you pointed out. Even in the UK, most British doctors and nurses are moving to Australia and Canada and you still see the same thing happening there especially with immigrants who weren’t trained there struggling to fill in the gap. The world is making a huge shift and most people don’t even know why they are going where they are going. As for me and my family, we die here in Nigeria. Japa or Japada at the end of the day, go to sleep every night knowing you’re happy where you are, that’s all that matters

It’s all about choice, while some people would rather live and die in one country, others choose to explore the globe. Whatever one’s reason, they should own it and not be made to feel bad about it.

The world can never go back to normal , now is the time to take one day at a time and do you.Very soon all these people that kept monies abroad would wake up one day and puff goes all the wealth only what they have here is what would sustain them a time of Great Depression is coming for the corrupt rich.

@@nancyackon Again, your allegation is false, how can you claim I don’t read well when your comment never ended with those who has papers can always go back?
Plus this topic was specifically about people who decided to return back home to continue their lives in Nigeria, either they have papers or not is irrelevant.
If they can go back or not is a different topic entirely, so stop trying to underplay my sense of comprehension, simply because you don’t want to accept that your comment is either false or irrelevant to this conversation.

True.. there has actually been more job vacancies for health practitioners who chose to stay back since the japa trend. Federal and state hospitals are short staffed hence giving more employment opportunities for health practitioners. I mean the space of those that japa has to be filled now😂

They want to be real with themselves and live their own dream, not the dream that others have for them. At the end of the day it’s between you and God. I didn’t even think of it as shaming, I just thought they didn’t understand. But truly it is a level of shaming. It is well o.
