- Tens of thousands of pennies were weighing on Andreas Flaten’s mind until help arrived. After Andreas gave his two weeks notice at work and asked for his final paycheck, a pile of 90,000 oil-slicked pennies showed up at his house. Andreas tried cleaning the pennies off, preparing to cash them in. It was proving to be a time-consuming process, but as news of the stunt got around, one company realized it could help. And now the boss has been ordered to pay almost $40,000 to former employees (including the one featured in this video) in back pay and damages.

Here in Argentina we have to sign a receipt with each paycheck. One copy is for the employer and the other for the employee as proof of payment.

Unfortunately he could claim that a rogue employee in accounting did it. More than likely it was under his orders, though. However, dirty motor oil is a carcinogen so the ex employee could probably rake him under the coals in court for that.

Years ago I remember that people were showing up at the world's fair with pennies to pay their admission. It had the lines backed up for hours. Evidently it was legal back then. I have NO IDEA why, or if they were protesting something.

Sue him for non-payment in small claims court, then he’ll have to legally prove his method of payment. Take his legal admission and start an online campaign to show the world what he did. Don’t slander him, just neutrally and respectfully highlight in the social media world his payment method. Include the note that was left, probably in his handwriting. I would make it my life’s mission.
You could even stand on the sidewalk outside his business handing out flyers that describe what he did.
