Looking good! One thing I thought of and maybe it's nothing much I don't know what the rules are in UK, so forgive me if I'm wrong I'm only trying to help, but what about the carpet? Is it OK for it to be in your clinic? Shouldn't there be tile or something else that can be disinfected if needed? Let's say you drop a needle with blood on it. See what I'm getting at? It might be tricky to disinfect a carpet.
Yes totally agree about the carpet. I cleaned and disinfected it all before I had any patients and I'm saving up to get hard floor put it. It was be much easier to keep clean and I think it will look better too!
Putting a large frameless mirror on the wall sounds good. nothing more exciting than looking and examining their face before any treatment to be done. I think I generally lose the track of time when looking at my face in the elevator (or lift) till it reached the floor I want to be on. Always enjoy watching your youtube
Oh wow! This looks absolutely gorgeous! Do you have a favourite place to visit? You could get a big painting of it for your wall! And even just a few simple house plants for a splash of colour!
Nice video Sarah! I love the bare brick section and the visible joists 😍 Definitely nicer than a plain white super clinical looking room. I was wondering, have you thought about doing a video all about the logistics of locum work? Or is it as simple as you get offered shifts and either accept or decline them?
Love the idea of running your business from home! I was gonna say that you can add another plant on the window sill? Something like an ivy or spider plant or a cactus? But a reed diffuser works well too! I got one from Aldi that's not too over powering.
Ooh thank you, yes I like the idea of adding something to the other windowsill! Reed diffuser sounds good. Do you remember which scent you got? The Aldi ones are great because they actually smell like higher end brands. Thanks for watching ❤️
@@SarahNicholls It is the mango and passionfruit one. I was only able to smell it if I stood close to it but it wasn't overpowering. It's still going strong considering that I opened it last year :) And yeah, Aldi do some great ones for a good price too
Hey Sarah . Just found your channel. Been loving all the content. Congrats on your career in aesthetics. As someone looking to get into aesthetics myself just wanted to ask if you did a formal course like a level 7 or a foundation course before starting ? Do you feel a course is required ? Thankyou for your advice and good luck with everything :)
Hello Doc congratulations... Just 2queries 1)which aesthetic diploma required that is reasonable 2)are we allowed to open aesthetic clinics in home in canada? Dr Asma here.. Pakistan
Looks lovely & clean. Agree with others - plants, logo, blinds on windows for privacy etc. would be great. It looks a little bare at the moment. How about putting your certificates up on the walls?
Amazing thank you! I am an Infection Prevention and Control Nurse Consultant here in UK and wanting to start in aesthetic! I am looking to set up at home but maybe should rent a room! Not sure! How has it been for you?
I personally think it is best to start in a clinic / renting a room, but there is no one right path. Best of luck to you, I'd love to hear how you progress!
Could you please also explain how much you earn through this what are the pros and cons for the upcoming docs who are looking to do private clinics and what are things to do before starting a private clinic and after how long of experience that we can start one plz ?
wow! love it :) maybe you could put a small tv or relaxing music in there. Or even make that wall an inspirational wall e.g put quotes up that inspire you
congratulations on opening your new aesthetics clinic. It looks very nice. however I think I would not be comfortable to go to a clinic set up in someones private home. But that is just my opinion. Maybe that's just because it is not common in my area for a doctor to have their clinic at their private residence. Its rather what nails artists or hairdressers do here. Interesting to learn about cultural differences even in Europe.
Hey Tara! Yes I had another clinic before but I stopped working there when lockdown hit. I was planning in finding a new clinic but decided to try this working from home malarkey that everyone's been talking about ☺️ sorry, I didn't explain it all that well in the video!
I would put up a TV which would include your business details and have it set up for patients to watch something they like whilst they are being treated. 😊
I'm so disappointed in seeing this Sarah - I really thought you were a serious doctor? - one of the first things they ask you in Medical school interviews is why you want to do Medicine - I'm sure if I had said to them it is to earn as much money as I can by doing cosmetic beauty treatments to rich people they would of showed me the door. Indeed there are doctors doing this type of thing but you are better than this Sarah. It is a free country and we all have our perspectives on life so I wish you all the best.
It's interesting to hear that you are disappointed to see this. I have been interested in business, cosmetics and aesthetics for a long time. I've been doing private practice for nearly 2 years now, and care about the wellbeing of my pateints in clinic just as much as I do about the patients in the Emergency Department. I love doing cosmetic work just as much as my emergency work! If you've seen other vlogs of mine, you may have heard me talking about having a business throughout medical school where I sold paintings online to fund my studies. I also have a homeware online shop. And a UA-cam channel. No one has ever criticised me for this. None of it impacts my ability to be a good doctor and do right by my patients, but it's always interesting to hear that people have such a strong opinion about doctors doing cosmetic work. I think it's important that people having cosmetic treatments have them performed by a trained medical person rather than a beautician with very little grasp of the anatomy or contraindications. I firmly believe that we should live the lives we want to, regardless of the opinions of others. Having multiple interests and being creative outside of work is a good thing and we should be encouraging people to do what makes their heart sing, whether it's creating businesses, playing the banjo or learning to tightrope walk! Please try not to judge people too harshly. We are humans first and our profession is second.

Do you need a sink for hand washing?
Yes there is a sink just in the next room
this is one of the best things I have seen today. congratulations Sarah! I really feel so happy for you.
Yay thank you so much for your support 😊

Great idea, Sally! Thank you ❤️
Is it possible if I can learn aesthetic medicine from your clinic ?
Congrats Sarah, Good Luck!
Plants! You need plants!
Oh my gosh yesss that's what it's missing isn't it! thank you!
I was just going to say that! Maybe a couple of hanging plants from the beams for the wall that the patient will be facing...
Oh wow! This looks absolutely gorgeous! Do you have a favourite place to visit? You could get a big painting of it for your wall! And even just a few simple house plants for a splash of colour!
Sarah Nicholls, Congratulation for opening your aesthetic clinic and I pray for you, success always Sarah Nicholls.

Totally agree, I need a few more things around the room. I'm on it! 😉
The furniture you picked is gorgeous btw. Love the desk & pink chair! 💕
Love your space.
You should put up a huge mirror on the blank wall.
Great idea! Thank you
Where did you found the pink velvet chair, it’s adorable 😍😍I want this for my room 🙏🙏
CONGRATULATIONS ❤️🎉

Woohoo thank you so much!
So happy for you!
Thank you! It's exciting and scary all at the same time!

Thank you :) yes I know a few doctor who have a home set-up but I still deliberated about the decision for a long time beforehand.
A little bit of sitting furniture would be great 👍 maybe some chairs, ottomans and a couch for patients and their relatives to sit
Hey Sarah, love the clinic! I'm kind of confused, i thought you set up your own clinic before elsewhere?:)
Hey Tara! Yes I had another clinic before but I stopped working there when lockdown hit. I was planning in finding a new clinic but decided to try this working from home malarkey that everyone's been talking about ☺️ sorry, I didn't explain it all that well in the video!
@@SarahNicholls ooh, ok cool!:)
😊🎉❤
My sister got quite concerned when my mom got a filler at a home based clinic tho😒
I would put up a TV which would include your business details and have it set up for patients to watch something they like whilst they are being treated. 😊
I really like that idea! Thank you ☺️
Wish me luck I am going to be doctor in future !!
If you need someone to work for you as a secretary/to do admin jobs, I know someone who’d be interested! :) goodluck with it all
That's so great, thank you!
Currently I'm in class 12th When I'll get my medical degree
I'll be there to work with you
Will you allow me to join you???
Mam are you an anesthesia doctor? Nice video.
No, confusingly injectable cosmetics treatments are called 'aesthetics', which is different from 'anaesthetics'
Mam what is your husband's profession?
He is an engineer
