The first time I came to know about the existence of the Para SF (then Para Commandos) was in 2000 at HMI Darjeeling. There were two guys one was a Gurkha from Darjeeling and the other was my tribesman. (will not disclose names) Both were with the 10th Para Commandos. I was awestruck with the different patterned Camo uniform, the Maroon Beret, and the Balidani badge. Their shoulder tabs were then written as "COMMANDOS" then and were known as Para Commandos! Later they changed into SPECIAL FORCE. Both of those guys were for the Basic Course with us, however, they're so fit and tough that within 8 months they completed Advance Course, Search and Rescue and Instructor course, while we civvies had to tone our body for one year just to attend the Advance course.
