The Spiral Abyss has long been our greatest challenge on this Swords Only account in Genshin Impact. But recently, we were able to finally 36 star it. So in this "special", I compiled the best of clips / funny moments from every episode thus far to look back at our journey, and see just how far we've come.
Swords Only in Genshin Impact can be quite challenging at times. However, as the self-proclaimed master of "Weapon" Only challenges in this game, I am able to best any obstacle (probably).
HoYoVerse put out a tweet saying "Polearm Impact"... So I decided to take it upon myself to make a new account, but only use characters who wield a sword because absolutely nobody asked me to.

20:00 still one of the cleanest transitions I've seen in a Genshin video to date
37:30 i remember i was sick with covid during this event, and i did it in my bed coughing and feeling like i was under a truck. then you posted a video later while i was still sick, and while watching it, a little bit of that weight subsided. not because of the various medicine i was on to help fight the virus, but because you uploaded, and for me, that’s always a pleasant surprise that always makes me happy.
thank you Java for this amazing series! I started watching this series a year ago and watched every episode at launch since then. I'm really proud to be a long viewer of Swords Only and wish Java for more upcoming success in other series as well!
Inspired by series such as these, I started a challenge account of my own about a month ago. I call it 'Lumine + Archons only'
The goal is the same, see if I can 36-star the Abyss. The only characters I can build and use are Lumine and the 7 Archons, which will give me just enough characters for 2 full Abyss teams by the time Schneznaya runs its course. The inspiration is to see how far I can take an account if I throw all my eggs into 8 baskets, and hyperinvest only in a select few powerful characters.
As of this writing, I managed to secure Venti (part of me wanted to hold out till Furina but honestly, a bow character opens up a whole lot of content, and I could only get the one. With a little luck, Furina is next!

@@Iori-kun First order of business is to obtain all of the available archons, so step 1 is to grind the game like hell to get them. Tbh this step alone will probably take a whole year of setup for the account. After that, it depends on the frequency at which archon banners drop. So, I will focus on just getting the necessary characters until the Natlan Archon drops.
5* weapons are a very low priority, since they're not that valuable to the account. Zhongli works just fine on black tassel or a fav lance, Raiden can use the catch (which will probably make her more consistent anyway since it'll pad her effective crit rate a little), and since I'm limited to one electro (+ electro lumine but we don't talk about her), I may have to build EM raiden in the future anyway, which reminds me I need to pull a Dragon's Bane for that.
Nahida's signature is not that much better than Sac Frags, which I've already got, and Furina also has a fishable weapon that's perfectly servicable for her. The char that may benefit the most from a 5* weapon is ironically Lumine herself (and possibly Venti), but they don't need it per se. Elegy or skyward harp would be nice to get though... I find myself shouting 'weapon, weapon, weapon!' everytime I do a 10-pull
In other words, if I have the spending room, cons over 5* weapons for sure. As for videos, I'm not a strimmer, so no 8D
(Side note: I hope the Pyro Archon turns out to be a claymore user, or there'll be a whole class of weapons that my account has no use for lol)

I am so sad SwordsOnly is ending , But I think you will definitely find new ways to entertain us like for example SpellsOnly and maybe something else that you come up with. I have been watching since the begginning of the series , I just stumbled upon the series on my recommended one day back when only three episode came out. Watching this series is what got me into Genshin. This account is older than My Main Genshin Account. So sad that it is ending but , I will watch anything you upload Java. You are such a good content creator. Thank you for introducing me to Genshin , It has really been a Magical Journey through Teyvat for me. SwordsOnly will forever be the best Genshin series in my opinion.❤❤❤❤❤❤

I can't believe it's already been two years. The account has come a long way since it's humble beginnings, and I'm kinda sad to see it go - especially since I was really looking forwards to you pulling for furina. Maybe on your main it'll happen?

I’ll definitely still watch your vids like SpellsOnly. My favorite moment was seeing your dedication to beat that blasted archery challenge. I often joke with my friends on this game that I learned from you to not give up on things, and that often just winging it is just as fun as reading the instructions.
Honestly seeing you finally after so much strategizing and so much sweat and countless tears do the archery challenge was absolutely amazing

the start of this was so long ago that it was a Eula banner. And we only had another rerun of her a couple of months back in 3.8
To quote others this has been a fun series to watch amongst all the other CC’s I follow and support. Congrats on getting so far with this account and look forward to whatever comes next ! Also I do like the montages of farming multiple items it’s never boring to me.

SwordImpact was honestly the only thing that kept me in Genshin, and I love sword characters even more now because of this series. So many fun memories from this account, props to Java for not going completely insane after everything. ♡

Can‘t believe SwordsOnly started 2021 and I‘ve watched every episode ever since. It still feels like yesterday. My favorite episode gotta be this one 13:54 . Truly epic and no other only series compares to the effort you put on each video of swords and catalysts only

I've best liked the co-opting of opponents to assist you e.g. to use their elemental abilities to create interactions. Although, I must admit that the archery challenge came to mind first. The perseverance and leaning into difficulty is what makes your videos more engaging than those of creators who take more short cuts.

i will miss the uploads as you won't be uploading it that much anymore but we still have spells only- maybe another "only" will come? bows only perhaps? (edit: My favorite memories of sword only was when you got albedo, and diluc you just suffer. A lot to the fact you had to spend money lol.)

I was really sad and I decided to watch it because I decided why not right? And I found this channel every day. It's not my favorite, because of the torture you had to deal with, but when you attempted to try to finish the Inazuma archery quest with only swords. It showed how much dedication you had to being true to the series name 👏. Also, think of how much quality time you got to spend with Teppei before he "bought the farm" .

my favorite moment was when you glitched out of the chasm in co-op. it was the first episode i watched and right away i was hooked. it was a bit different episode and didn't really feature that much swords only gameplay but i still like that episode because it was the one that made me find you and your content. ever since i have been a fan of you and you´re my favorite genshin content creator ❤
