Wow that "Check it out" sounded pretty natural
i think she picked that up from a specific someone
And the 'Harbor'
@@salsasalsa943 Quarry?
They hear that all the time in Japanese rap and comedians who imitate rap lol
And the " convenience store "
The “check it out” right after was surprisingly clean too, kyou mo kawaii af
Ikr
ikr
@@manei34 wow I had no idea about this, thanks for the cool factoid
The harbour and what is that at the end was also pretty damn clean
on god
you can tell whatever she learned from duolingo she speaks perfectly. and whatever she didn't she does not.
her mom is an english teacher, so suichan should be even better at english but she herself says she's just lazy to learn lmao
@@eljn2737 Teachers usually do not teach their own children. The level of frustration(which we all inflict on our teachers) gets unbearable when the student happens to be one's own child.
Suisei may not value English as much as her other real interests such as singing, but damned if she doesn't try to nail those pronunciations. I'd imagine she puts more importance on *sounding* correct; whether she actually understands any of it is irrelevant.
@@eljn2737 "Please don't say you are lazy" moment there
Suprr market
Suisei is extra sassy when speaking english, especially that "what is that?" at the end
I can only assume her practice partner for EN is Calli
I think if she was fluent she'd have such a cute cute english voice /accent
@@totallyathome Sounds almsot like an impression of Coco's english, just less Kermit-like if you get what I mean.
@@GoyBenius_0901 yeah, coco minus the AsaCoco part.
She's really getting the L and R thing down.
its super great progess too
Her mom is fluent in English so Suisei's just catching up to her mama
The way she pronounces some words, like “harbor" are very close to the correct pronunciation.
I love the voice she uses when she pronounces English words too, same voice she used when she said “Hi honey" that one time and everyone lost their minds.
And then you have the way she pronounces other words/phrases, like "low grog faeh" which is even better than the correct pronunciation.
You can tell she pays attention not only to what the words mean, but how they sound. That's dedication.
it doesn't help that half the words she was saying were spelled incorrectly.
In the case of harbor, she probably knows that one from the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, which I imagine was covered in history class at some point as it would ultimately lead to the creation of the modern day Japanese state.
It was close to the American pronunciation. Besides, there isn't a correct pronunciation. Unless you're referring to recieved pronunciation, which is not American pronunciation.
Her: "Harbor. Yeah."
Me: "Perfection."
Her: "Yeah, Harbor 2."
Me: "Even better."
Just like pearl harbor 🤣🤣
Suisei's pronuncation always leaves me impressed, that "Supermarket" was amazing too. Same way with how she did her "Hi Honey".
Whoa! The way she said _"Check it out"_ sounded SO fluent. (0:47)
:nods: yes yes agreed hehe
And imo that's cuz she's repeating something she's actually heard *said* a million times most likely, through media, whatever - and not reading and/or using learning materials etc - i.e. what i'm getting at is the best way imo to learn a language is naturally - through natural use vs formally etc. Which is why they say total immersion or living in the place is best. That's not to say that formal teaching, duolingo, reading/writing, and so on aren't all great ways to learn - it's just it'll come much faster and come out much better like that when you're just repeating something you've heard a million times and not really thinking about it. They also say that - "you've learned a language once you think/can think in that language - and aren't translating everything in your heard".
Its so crazy how speaking another languague almost makes her sound like a completelly different person
English and Japanese use different positions of the tongue and thus different ranges of the vocal cords. So it is only natural that the two languages makes a person sound completely different tbh
@Blayne Bradley suisei speaks with her normal voice due to her thoat condition
Suisei *low grade fuel* 1:16 is the best English I've ever heard in my life.
"lou... gurow.... fywer..."
It reminded me of Polka for some reason

Love Suisei's english pronounciation. She's getting better and better! xD
Shouldn't supermarket mean スパ (Supa) than convenience store?
convenience store is コンビニ
supermarket is スーパー
I figure she said it to convey she understands what a Supermarket entails as a locale. It is, by many accounts, a very big Convenience Store.
Just suupaa? Not suupaamaaketto?
@@justkev1044 formally sūpāmāketto, commonly shortened to just sūpā

“Why is Suichan Kyou mo Kawaii!!”
One of the greatest unanswered mysteries in this world next to *”Nye”*
She already answered, it's her talent to be kawai
That was a satisfying “supermarket” English
That sudden perfect "Check it out" tho
God bless Mamamachi for correcting Suisei's pronunciation.
1:19 a deflating sui-chan
0:08 and she said it so cheerfully lmfao 😂
She welcomes change.
Suinglish is a mix of perfectly native-sounding and Elite.
That "what is that?" Is too clean
Suisei's Mom already holding the sacred sandals when watching this, thankfully her pronounce getting better so she decided to give her more chance....
The title is talking about “supermarket” but “Check it out!” Is amazing
"To-neru?"
"Toenail?"
Our Suichi is increasing her Eigo education at astonishing levels.
0:48 Her voice is so cool when pronouncing English fluidly, I wish she can speak more English
You should hear her say "Hi Honey" then
checkitout
It's funny, her reaction to shifting it to English is the same as mine would be if I switched it to Japanese.
But she can at least pronounce the words, even if she doesn't understand them, which is way better than I could do.
Imagine she said "TODAY IS BARGAIN DAY AT THE SUPERMARKET!" out of nowhere lol
today is friday in the california
She's just an Idol for fun
That proud "I don't understand anything" is just, * Chef's kiss*
in her defense, "Quarry" is a hard word.
I love how she starts something and then just completely tapers off into cute jibberish. Her "What is that" sounded vaguely moona-like 🤷♂️

I would love Suisei’s English-translator level mom as a vtuber lol 😂 or just a collab
And suisei will receive a good smack for that 🤣
She only has two methods of pronouncing English:
-Incomprehensible
-Better than natives
She's actually really good
I love that she randomly just goes "yeahh"
Imagine your supermarket cashier greeting you with a cheerful
_HI, HONEY!_
konbini kashiah*
That super market pronunciation reminds me of what a Japanese per would sound like trying to sound American in a voice acting gig for an anime lol.
0:26 Makes me wonder how she knows how to say "harbor" so well...😱
Great video
Even great German pronunciation in there. The way she pronounces "tunnel" is very close to the actual German pronunciation.
今日もかわいい
NICE
I like how her accent changes when she pronounces words in english she recognises, it makes her sound like a native, and it kind of reminds of lui's incredible inflection when it comes to pronouncing words in english. IRyS is ironically the reverse of this with japanese, as she speaks japanese like a native, which is very underrated, as it's incredibly difficult to do!
I'm proud of her.
wait, if there is a japanese ui option, as shown in the beginning, why is everyone in hololive playing it in english?
I don't really understand it either, but if I had to guess it's most likely because they've yet to get permissions to stream it in Japanese or something along those lines. It's probably the same reason for example when the EN girls couldn't get permissions to stream Resident Evil in English dub so they had to stream it in Japanese dub to avoid potential copyright since Japan is extremely strict when it comes to Copyright. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, I wanna know too.
Her "What is that and Check it out" sounds more natural than supermarket or anything else.
Hoshiyomi: "Suinglish is better than ASMR!"
‘Aban Donetto’… it’s sounds like gorgeous french
The check it out afterwards was more clean. I guess helps Calli said it so many times lol
If Suisei ever met certain holomen in holoEN who have played Rust, she could try testing out her English skills
perfection
thank you for the Suisei english🙏
She absolutely picked the "Check it out!" from Calli. 😂
I feel like that "what is that" has some meme potential
When she said "What is that", it sounded just like Moona
Good Job Suisei-chan your english is improving.
0:59 Sounds like she made a pun here.
Sometimes her accent is on point which makes you think she's trolling us
the check it out was actually crazy
Suisei with a thick southern accent is something i didn't know I needed. Now I do.
1:26 That part makes me think of a scene from Full Metal Jacket
"WHAT IS THAT? WHAT IS THAT PRIVATE PYLE?"
That "check it out" was clean as a marble slab
Let us take a moment to appreciate that Suisei is so proud of her English pronunciation abilities that she deliberately did this to herself to see if she could do it.
She is aware of the memes she creates from her English, and she's intent on creating more.
i like that "wat is dat" so good

The check it out was spot on holy shit
"Yeah"
That zoomed "what is that?" makes her looks like an EN member
Her mom should be proud of how far she's come
Her voice reminded me a bit of Calli’s with how she said supermarket
low....gwo....fuuuuaaaaeeeeeee
nailed it =)
when she started saying stone quarry i lowkey thought she was bouta say stone free
Her accent just straight up disappeared for a second.
Suisei is one of those Hololive JP Talents that Have Great Potential in Learning and Speaking English.
it's the "twitter~" clip all over again
my god the way she said "Harbor"
hngh adorable
That," nani mo Wakarusa masen " was really cute.
I like how her accent changed immediately.
" Hearbor yeay.... "
something sound " banzaiii"
i like when she says "check it out!" 😎
Super meerkat
the supermarket sounds like TTS. Clean but unnatural. the "check it out" though was straight native
That harbour is underrated
That beginning makes me want an English colab of Suisei and Pekora lol.
Lo gwa fwah🤣🤣
The way she said fuel sent me
Cute
0:48 activated my neurons
I dont think I can handle this voice level from Suisei. Last time I heard from her, she was still using a lighter voice
The "check it out" killed me
God the supermarket pronunciation sounded like franky from one piece saying super
"Wotuh tureetoment plant" sounded so cute
0:07 gotta be my fav part
Suisei’s english is great you can tell she’s getting better at it as time goes on
Yes, that Super Merket
"Uwaaw" 😂
Can we appreciate that harbor?
Suinglish us cute as always.
