@@Pixelboyable I was thinking the same thing. Man bought a halo for 30 tokens and then watched all his healers go OOM and slowly die off one by one due to having no damage >.
I beat the demo on my first try but didn't realize the PvP element at the end so watched as my partial left-over team died to every single opponent :_(
Played this in its playtest phase, incredibly happy to finally see you play it! Hope it stays around long enough for you to beat the boss because the surprise at the end has potential for endless pog
Bought this sight unseen because I liked the first game they made. Well, I liked it except for the entire plot being a Rick and Morty reference. These devs have references instead of blood.
The doing of the things like putting the sword guy with 3% health in front of all your full health shieldy boys is one thing; it's NL getting surprised by them dying in situations like those that really gets me lol.
I was just about shouting at my screen because of how bad he was playing especially when he went into the boss fight right after all his units nearly died and he still had tons of money to spend. Even a non-gamer should know that you need to gear up before a boss fight... Game looks fun tho so I'm buying it on steam. After his medics died he kept rerolling the medic equipment when it was what got him that far. If you find a strategy that works you should roll with it. He also could've bought more meat shield units after majority of his units went to 1 hp since he was sitting on tons of gold and food. At least buy some basic units or cycle some of the others to the front and give the medics a chance to heal the injured. This is basically a roguelike where you have no time to heal between battles and all the damage from previous fights stick with you so medics and heals are naturally broken. Either that or enough ranged damage to kill the enemies before they even have a chance to attack but with the autobattle system in this it seems like you're guaranteed to take at least one shot no matter how fast you finish the fight
@@DrakeOola yeah the medics definitely needed a lot more priority than they got lol. It's interesting though, it could almost be a sales strategy - watching somebody play a game and do a terrible job, I think especially for roguelikes, has to have some amount of increase in the likelihood that those watchers will buy it just for the catharsis of having it be done better lol. NL was just secretly playing us from the shadows to drive up sales~ heh
I noticed this game on Steam a few days ago and was unsure about it and, almost like magic, UA-cam recommends this video to me. Very interesting game. Might have to grab it.
You might like Dungeon of the Endless NL (the one currently available, not the upcoming psuedo-sequel). It's a roguelite tower-defence-y, autobattler-ish hybrid with its focus on the game mechanics. Some exploration and gambling involved, and working out the stats so you can have the maximum chance of surviving in a bad situation. Quite easy to get into but a lot of depth. Keep pogging either way.
26:24 good lovecraft reference “Ph’nglui mglw’nafh Cthulh R’lyeh wgah’nagl fhtagn.” (Approximately translates to: “In his house at R’lyeh, dead Cthulu waits dreaming.” Excerpt from The Call of Cthulu: “Esquimaux wizards and the Louisiana swamp-priests had chanted to their kindred idols was something very like this: the word-divisions being guessed at from traditional breaks in the phrase as chanted aloud: ‘Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn.’ Legrasse had one point in advance of Professor Webb, for several among his mongrel prisoners had repeated to him what older celebrants had told them the words meant. This text, as given, ran something like this: ‘In his house at R'lyeh dead Cthulhu waits dreaming.’”
I love NL going through a singular individual’s chat history so much.
"Would it kill you to do some damage" - NL after categorically refusing to upgrade his damage for like 2 whole levels.
Was wondering if anyone was gonna say this.

Loving this game. It feels impossible at first, but it gets a lot easier when you get the hang of the mechanics, and learn from mistakes.
I beat the demo on my first try but didn't realize the PvP element at the end so watched as my partial left-over team died to every single opponent :_(
@@silenceyouidiot the demo was way easier. still once you learn how to build a team the game is relatively easy.
Pretty much every game, my boy.
@@carlitosjuarez221 I guess.
You just described the majority of games my dude
All these MCU multiverse shenanigans and we've ended up in a timeline where NL is now the auto-battler guy instead of the roguelike guy
These What If episodes are amazing
The worst timeline

Honestly pretty cool game. Music is amazing, the chat inclusion is cool and the writing is fun.

Heck yes, man!
NL the type of silly goober to say "we're toast" when the cops pull him over
NL the type of guy to say "You piece."
This game looks so sweet. Watched other folks play it- the end game is a pretty cool switch-up.

This game uses Oddworld Mudokon sounds when the "puny humans" are thrown into the hole at 13:16. Carry on.
'it's part of my favorite genre: autobattler!" who has this man become!
Love this game already. So many references to other cool series and shows

Your medics only go into melee combat when they have no mana to heal other people, so buying the mana regen mutation is useful.
