Tardigrades are messes of evolution. Like, instead of evolving to resist things that ACTUALLY threaten them like being stepped on, they mutated to be able to resist the vacuum of SPACE and RADIATION and they SURVIVED. How?
they survived because while the dinosaurs were dying and stuff the waterbear was still comfortable. and then when the super valcanoes erupt and kill everything tardigrade was still comfortable. when atomic bombs and nuclear weapons are used, did the tardigrade plan this? it was still comfortable we should shoot them off into Mars and then see what happens

Therefore there is not one immutable economic set of laws for intelligent life or one ideal perfect one, but the one best suited for the environmental conditions and the biology of the ET in question. Fun fact: the international space station actually had some tradigrades in space, and some survived the vacuum, solar radiation and lack of gravity. A lot of them died though, and the scientists decided not to do this again, unless it is possible to avoid the animal cruelty.
Tardigrade's tun state is also seen as halfway between life and death, because in this state tardigrades are capable of hardly anything of what we see as the defining obligations of "being alive". So those tardigrades that died while in tan state give rise questions according were exactly life ends and death begins. Did they just die while being dead? Fun fact: the international space station actually had some tradigrades in space, and some survived the vacuum, solar radiation and lack of gravity. A lot of them died though, and the scientists decided not to do this again, unless it is possible to avoid the animal cruelty.
Tardigrade's tun state is also seen as halfway between life and death, because in this state tardigrades are capable of hardly anything of what we see as the defining obligations of "being alive". So those tardigrades that died while in tan state give rise questions according were exactly life ends and death begins. Did they just die while being dead? And how comes the others stayed alive while being dead?

Does cellular biology have an answer for this 'adaptability-factor?' How does DNA 'know' how to respond...can it 'think' or 'remember'...and the answer is NO.But...much like 'Silly-Putty', it can have a 'shadow engram' embossed upon it, one overlay atop another...and each of these engrams can be selected over others...a 'specialized key fitting a specialized lock' occurrence .A 'new type' of 'selective-memory'.
