The biggest tips for Celebrity Cruise lovers : If you are sailing on a Edge class ship, Aqua Class is a waste of money...Most people not all but most say they book Aqua Class for Blu...However, if you book a Edge class ship there are 4 Main dinning rooms that are great, Blu on these ships would be over kill...HOWEVER, if you are on a M or S class ship Aqua Class is a better bargain BUT consider this...If you book a Veranda cabin and book a specialty restaurant every night, it will be cheaper then booking Aqua Class UNLESS you can get a great deal for Aqua Class. Next tip, MAKE SURE if you are Elite or higher and you book spa appointments DO NOT forget to go to the Spa as soon as possible to get your 10% or 15% refund depending on your status...The discount will not apply when you book the appointment, it must be done when you are on board... Tip 3....If you request just one cabin cleaning per day instead of 2, you will get a few extra points...If you can live with the Cabin cleaning once, then more important then the few points is you give the Cabin stewards some extra time to recoup which I hope is the case.
Great points! But I believe the go green program does not double your points. They give you points equal to one extra day of cruise. So if you were in a Veranda for 7 nights, you will normally get 21 points. When you go green you will get 3 extra points total as an additional bonus.
I sailed Celebrity Eclipse November 2023; Reflection January 2024 and going on the Ascent Feb 18 next week. I’m in love with celebrity ships! This upcoming cruise on Reflection I am sailing in a concierge class cabin and looking forward to testing that out to see if I like it.
You will find that the layered amenities are nice little touches. Nothing special. What I utilize Concierge Class for is to go up the loyalty tiers faster, especially if the difference between Concierge Class and Veranda is narrow.
Your TA should at least offered some OBC. They also should have access to group rates which come with discounts for drinks WiFi and Refundable deposits. If not. Get a new TA
You can save a lot more upgrading the bev package if you wait and grab it on sale. I upgraded myself and my wife from Classic to Premium Drink Package for $117.32 over 7 nights. That's CAD $8.38 PP/PN, (USD$6.21)
I was going to upgrade, but we are not going until September, so if I keep checking app, would I find a sale there? Right now only 10% savings…..so will keep checking…
@@liannesmith5127 You will have to wait and watch for a sale. However if it's like Royal Caribbean, you can buy and cancel for a refund and rebuy at a better price as many times as you need to. I gave you my numbers so you know how low they may go. I would be interested in knowing how you make out.
I'm going on my first cruise in 3 months (Oct'24), and although your tips will be useful for most of those watching, I'm not really your target audience. I'm 69 years old on a fixed income with very little savings, so this cruise is likely my first and last one. I just figured I'd go on one before it's too late. So things like discounts due to tier upgrades aren't likely to apply to me, and since I'm not a big drinker, the drink packages don't make sense for me either. Nevertheless, I appreciate the effort you put into this video, and like hearing about tips and tricks that an experienced cruiser like yourself is willing to pass on. I'm off to the Dominican and Puerto Rico on the Celebrity Eclipse before I know it!
Enjoy your cruise and thank you for watching. Not sure if you made final payment yet but AARP has Celebrity gift cards you can purchase at a 10% discount for face value. So if your remaining balance is say 1000.00 you will only pay 900.00’for those gift cards that will pay off your cruise. 100.00 in your pocket!
You can bring a bottle of wine with you. Also you can fill your own bottles for water or juices and iced tea all day long or a travel mug for coffee and tea. My husband doesn’t drink at all so I can’t have a package. Enjoy your cruise!
If I read correctly, the zero-proof drink package also includes the fresh pressed juices at the Spa Cafe. As well as coffees at Cafe El Baccio. ( not sure if I spelled that correctly). These might be important points for those that don’t consume alcoholic beverages.
I have a question. I booked our cruise with Celebrity Equinox and included in the reservations were All inclusive basic WiFi and the classic drink packages. We are not alcohol drinkers. Can I switch to the non-alcoholic drink package? Also is the basic WiFi enough for texting to check on family at home?
Hi guys can you get cookies and all the lovely displayed cakes at Cafe Al Bacio even if you are on ‘Cruise Only’ and don’t have a drinks package or is it only for all inclusive passengers? From what you are saying on this I think I may have missed this on my recent cruise!!
Yes. Everyone gets those lovely cookies and cakes for free at Cafe El Bacio. The signing is not great and sometimes cruise only people just don’t know they can grab those goodies for free!
thanks for the tips, wondering as seniors is there any entertainment/music during the day. Say having coffee, snack listen to music, have done a lot of cruises but not celebrity Solice, any suggestions, thanks, Jollean
One thing I do is talk those cruise staff that walk around trying to sell specialty dining into a 2 for 1. Then I talk to my waiter and he/she will usually be able to get me another 2 for 1, of course I end up giving him/her a big tip due to helping me out. This trick mostly works on non-sold out sailings. On my last 18 day cruise on the Eclipse I ate at specialty dining on 10 of those 18 night using that trick.
Hi there! Just found your channel. long time cruisers (21 and counting) but first time Celebrity Cruiser. NYE on Ascent. I just saw that they are offering a special New Years Eve dinner at the Steakhouse. Would you do that? Are you sailing on her?
Thanks for finding us! I would see what they are offering as "special" for that dinner before I would jump at it. I will be sailing on Ascent the following cruise you are on, I will be boarding her on January 7th 2024. So get her all warmed up for me!
excellent tips, ashame I'm in Oz otherwise would have rang you. just booked our first Edge cruise on their website in a Aqua stateroom looking forward to it.
We got off the Beyond a week ago. The treats at Cafe Baccio were drlicious. We found that because we had Select status (status match from Royal Caribbean), our waiter in the Tuscan restaurant let us order off the menus of the other 3 MDRs. And, we got a 15% discount on a bottle of wine.
No matter your status you can order from any of the MDR menus from what ever restaurant you are at. It all comes from the same galley. The wine discount is nice. You can also get a discount on drink packages as a whole or a discount on an upgrade of your drink package.
I'm during a 11 day cruise have not. Ought drink package, I'm not massive drinker, neither is travel companion, is it easier / cheaper to pay as you go?
An 11 night cruise can have a hefty drink package cost if you did not get the All Included package at booking. If your 11 night cruise is very port intensive it will probably be best to pay as you go or look at the zero proof package for sodas mock tails and specialty coffees and premium bottled water. And pay your alcoholic drinks as you go
We've booked a cruise on Celebrity's website, the Celebrity Eclipse, departing on 31 January 2026. Could this booking be transferred to your firm? Is there a financial incentive to do so?
Just go to the gelato area! Each ship class has it in a different area. Solstice class ships have it near the Cafe, Edge Class ships, over by the buffett.

We have the Classic Drink package on the Beyond in January. We are not big alcohol drinkers (perhaps 1 or 2 drinks per day). However, I have heard on other cruise UA-cam channels that the classic drink package includes smoothies at the spa cafe. Please clarify if we need the premium drink package to get smoothies there.
David, you are doing the right package with classic beverage. Any beverage under $10 is free. If you get a drink that is more than $10, they just charge you the difference, so if it's an $11 drink, you are only charged $1. I also think that his reply was incorrect, you can get smoothies from the juice bar in the spa cafe if you have classic beverage to the best of my knowledge. I highly recommend booking your reservation to restaurants in advance. Normandie and Cosmopolitan are my favorites - the gnocchi and the duck is delicious.
@@Ajmuzz I do know for a fact that smoothies and premium water bottles such as Evian is not included in the classic drinks package even though the drink is not above the 10.00 threshold. They are specifically excluded from the package.
Hey brother, upon further review you are correct. The smoothies from the juice bar are not included and you have to pay full price. My wife wasn't awake yet for me to fact check :p haha. I appreciate the video, these are good tips even for the veterans. One added tip I suggest as well is getting the all access pass to the thermal spa suite. It's around $250 and is a great escape from all the noise on the ship. The pool gets super busy and the buffet is a war zone at times. Even the Solarium gets noisy. The amenities in the spa are amazing and its a great escape for couples or individuals @@CruiseSeakers
Depends on how much you value a balcony, a special restaurant just for people in that class of cabin and access to a thermal suite in the Spa throughout your cruise. Some people think it’s very worth it as it gives you a suite like experience at non suite pricing.
The connectivity of the loyalty clubs is actually better the other way. Celebrity to Royal, who has far superior perks than Celebrity at Diamond and Elite.
Went by Scoops a couple times every day. No G. I asked the Retreat Host on day 6. They called the Maître D' and was told there was none due a 'supply problem'. That didn't stop Gelato from appearing in deserts at Luminae or on 'The Cookie' at Rooftop. Suspicious....... Plenty of Low-Q freezer-burned ice cream if that's what anyone is into! @@CruiseSeakers
I’m not a vapor, but from what I understand the exhaled is just water vapor. Vaping is just a nicotine delivery device with zero smoke despite the fact that it simulates smoke.
This is a controversial subject for sure. Some are firmly on one side. The question is how many and how much of an influence they have in the pocketbook vs the other side of the coin.
If the Aquaclass and Retreat class complain about $2 cookies, I'm sure this will make them go full "Karen". I enjoy cruising with Celebrity partly because they attract a more mature crowd of folks - If the cruise ship has a slide, you won't see me on that boat. I have zero interest in passing by the casino, which is right by the elevators, and seeing a cloud of smoke. It is also one thing if you are playing a machine and politely smoking, but this will attract folks not even using the casino for a quick puff.
I'm not vaper or smoker either, but I feel like I am beathing something worse than all of that these days. I smell some strange stuff in the air. It's not normal.
Too many consideration what a waste of time trying to calculate your way through the different ways they nickel and dime you on your vacation what a a shame . Jist tell me what it costs !
MDR use low quality ingredients and cheap quality foods for their customers. MDR just like a Fancy restaurant with Cafeteria style dishes. However, Oceanview Cafe are great with lot of selections, fruit selections, Indian dishes. and the Bakery are excellent. Actually the Indian dishes taste better than American dishes. Spa Coffee serves much better coffee than Oceanview Cafe, much better aroma, however, but i do not recommend their fruit mix drinks, the jars of those fruit drinks jars are always full, are always full mixed with day old mix with the new mix. they put the leave over the jars with half full mx fruit drinks back to refrigerator at night, they just make some new fruit drinks in the morning and add them with the old mix. It is so terrible. Spa coffee should dump all the old fruit mix drinks at night and make new fruit mix drinks in the morning.
I was a little disappointed in the first night in the MDR. We will see what happens tonight. Spa Cafe drinks. I agree. They need to make it fresh per glass. Oceanview Cafe is great for a buffet.
@@terminator7832 first night in the MDR I had the seafood orzo for my main. Good flavor but scallops were the baby bay scallops. Not real scallops. Shrimp and muscles were fine. For starter I had the French onion soup. Not enough Gruyère cheese and soup was thin. Not rich. Dessert was strawberries jubilee. Strawberries not fresh but frozen is my guess. Still had good flavor but had the softness of frozen fruit. Also had the escargot. Smallest snails I have seen yet. I’ll report from tonight.

Sorry you had such a bad time I. The main dining room. I have been very disappointed in all lines MDR recently. Lowering of quality across the board. I’m a good person and I will be on the Eclipse in just 2 days and I will report back from that ship.
@@Ajmuzz Thanks! I try to pass on the most accurate information at the time. Because with time, all things change.
In your opinion is it worth to do aqua class ? I do not want inside stateroom, there is a difference between ocean view and balcony Vs Aqua class
Depends on how much you value a balcony, a special restaurant just for people in that class of cabin and access to a thermal suite in the Spa throughout your cruise. Some people think it’s very worth it as it gives you a suite like experience at non suite pricing.
Apparently the spa cafe is closed on the Summit.
Well that stinks! I love the breakfast there.
@@CruiseSeakers I’m crossing my fingers that they reopen it by the time we sail in January.
@@DavidEidelberg did they open it back up on your cruise? Cruising next week-ish.
The connectivity of the loyalty clubs is actually better the other way. Celebrity to Royal, who has far superior perks than Celebrity at Diamond and Elite.
The Diamond level drink perk is quite amazing!
Diamond on RC is 4-6 free drinks anytime anywhere not just at happy hour time.
I agree, that's why I said Royal is better@@mariebellande9912
Don't count on that free Gelato scoop. No Gelato offered on Apex Jan 6-13.
Odd. Last two celebrity cruises on Ascent in January and on Eclipse had no problem getting my gelato.
Planing a cruise???
Always planning a cruise or on one!!!
Nice content but get a lapel mic and lose the boom mic...blocks you!
Thanks for the support! The only issue I have with lapel mics is the sound quality.
Better check out the most recent medical evaluations on the effects of vaping!
Don't go in the public whirlpools unless you want to be on antibiotics for months after you go home!
They can be soups, but I have yet to contract any illness on over 15 cruises. Including Covid or Nora
I jacuzzis myself on the Beyond last month and came home to Covid 🥵
I am about to go on a 4th antibiotic now from our November cruise!
Sailed on celebrity beyond last year and the hot tubs were human soups everyday. Was in the pool but that was about it.
@@marit4flExcept Covid is airborne transmission not from a hot tub. Still, avoid public hot tubs.
Too many consideration what a waste of time trying to calculate your way through the different ways they nickel and dime you on your vacation what a a shame . Jist tell me what it costs !
There are plenty of lines with a fully included fare, but they are also more pricy. It all depends on how you want to cruise.
@@CruiseSeakers try the soup
@@CruiseSeakers please tell me what you have for dinner last night and tonight
@@CruiseSeakers the coffee at Ocean view cafe is so flat, lacking aroma and the cream is so watery.
NOOOO to vaping!!
Vape fumes don’t bother me nearly as much as cigarette smoke. But I Agree. Don’t open up Pandora’s box.
You do you Karen.
Capping releases water vapor so it's NOTHING to others and seems at least a decent compromise. It's like complaining that others are drinking alcohol and you don't- GET OVER YOURSELF
Some people don’t like the vapor. I know many. More people are against than for so the cruise lines are going to side where the most money is.
This is a loooong and drawn out way of saying basic, well-known info with really no secrets whatsoever. Ugh.
Thanks for watching. Which I was able to hit on a tip you did not have in your back pocket. Maybe next time. 😀
I can’t handle Celebrity Cruises. Definitely I’m feeling in a tourist trap or almost pressured or scammed.
I would love to hear why you feel this way? I find it being less intrusive than almost every other line. And I sailed them all.
No transparency. Tourist trap.
Where was the lack of transparency? I would love to know your experience.
No vape
Agree. Glad they got rid of it.
We just completed 10 days cruise from Arub with Celebrity Summit. The Main dining room is total disappointment and they use low quality ingredients and low-quality foods for their customers.
Main dining room is total disappointment, they use powder for their watery soup base, such as clam chowder, and pasta fagioli, they are unacceptable. They also use baby meatless mussels, baby shrimps and baby scallops, they try save money, or they may need a new chef.
Coffee and the powder Creamer, * one star, just lack of taste and lack of aroma, they taste so bad
Shrimp scampi dish is a joke, 1 star * they put four baby shrimps on top of the yellow sauce, they all them shrimp scampi, need to learn the real scampi receipt,
Prime rib and sirloin steak *** three stars, they just served them as cafeteria style standard
Watery Pasta fagioli soup * one star, it tasted is so bad, they should use diced potatoes, not potato starch, need to get to use real potato, need improvement with for the new receipt.
Watery green pea soup , taste so bad, they use green pea powder for soup base, need to use real green peas for soup base. Need improvement with for the new receipt.
Shrimp cocktail ** two stars, they use Baby shrimp as shrimp cocktail
Chicken breast * one star overcooked.
Toast chicken * one star overcooked
Lemon pepper chicken * one star overcooked
Seafood orzo * one start cook with baby mussels with no meat, baby shrimp and scallop, need to be improved.
Sautéed salmon grill salmon * one start on top of pasta, * one star, need to learn sautéed receipt, not just grill the salmon and put it on top of pasta, need to lean understand Sauteed the Salmon,
need to be improved.
Mushroom tempura, they breaded the mushrooms with sauce. it is not crispy tempura style fry mushrooms.
Grill sirloin steak with gravity, need to be improved.
Sorry you had such a bad time I. The main dining room.
I have been very disappointed in all lines MDR recently. Lowering of quality across the board.
I’m a good person and I will be on the Eclipse in just 2 days and I will report back from that ship.
I personally only go to the MDR 3-4 times and the rest I do specially dining, to help combat the deterioration of the MDR. Yes it costs me more, but I wait for sales on dining packages to help defray the cost.
