Thank you for the video. I wasn't getting the proper installation, but with your assistance here, I was able to get all the results I needed! Thank you.
In the old Fedora 40 video tutorial, you said it is better to download ISO directly from website as media writer fails incase of network problems, is this still the case or they fixed it?
hi im looking to change from w11 and im new to this ,so why is there 5 types of fedora workstation ,server ,loT ,cloud ,coreos sry for a dumb qs and can i change back to w11 with ease
Certainly not dumb questions! Basically, for general purpose use you would use the Fedora workstation. Even though you will delete Windows 11 using my guide you can always reinstall it at any time. I have a guide on doing just that should you need it.
My shit usb stick doesnt show up on boot menu anymore after failing to install gnome i changed usb sticks too same thing i think Ill try a full factory reset or some sh
Will installing fedora delete my windows OS and all data? If something goes wrong and I need to go back to windows, will I need to pay for windows OS? I know you have a video on installing windows but want to confirm it before I install Linux?
At least with my guide I show completely removing the previous OS destroying all data and starting with a clean slate. As far as Windows goes. If it either has the windows CD key on the bottom or came pre installed with windows in the past roughly 6 or so years the license key is saved to the hardware and will activate.
I got stuck on 4.8% installation on fedora 41. It failed and now i cannot go back from that screen. Keyboard also does not work. Neither escape nor power off button If anyone know how to go back to windows please let me know
Hmmm, I just tested it and yes I see it goes to GitHub now. I do see an exe listed as the 3rd option under "Assets". You might have to click the arrow on "Assets" to expand it to show all.
@@Digital-Scriptorium I tried to use my mobile data I used fedora’s discussion solution but it did not work I can’t hard wire because I am on a mac i don’t have Ethernet port I am thinking of degrading to fedora 40
Does anybody know if fedora 41 works with timeshift? I have ruined my fedora 40 boot by not listenig to what people say and now i cant successfully do a restore from any of my countless snapshots.
Basically, time shift requires @ instead of / in front of certain directories such as your home folder. I was able to create snapshots for the last several months, but when it comes to restoring, it says that it doesn't support it without the @ and you can't change it, aka Time shift will either not attempt to restore, or it will fail if it does
@@Digital-Scriptorium Here is how you can check if you have this problem. Boot into live USB, install timeshift, choose the drive where you have snapshots, attempt to restore one of them. Don't worry you won't even make it to the dry run step. When you select your snapshot and confirm to restore you will get an Unsupported file sub system layout. I spent about 10 hrs trying to somehow manually get a snapshot to work, or to manually reinstall grub with chroot, none of them worked
The "stable" release will be around October 21st.

No problem! Enjoy! :)
Great video and nice voice!
But nearly the best thing is the Fallout-music in the background 😁🤘🙏
Haha thank you and finally someone picked up on it! Bonus points to you!...

It's more my personal preference but a network installer is generally fine
Mine is stuck at an error occurred while activating a storage configuration device is active

If you don't have tpm, disable tpm service otherwise boot time will be very long

Very odd!
Hi how much ram does fedora gnome consume? i have 16gb ram but only have iGPU with processor i5 12450H
That should for sure be more than enough hardware to make things peppy. Honestly 8gb would put you in really good territory.

I have a Windows 10 and 11 guide you can feel free to follow for help on that.
I asked this just now in an older video, im looking everywhere but im lost. The media writer download link just brings me to github, no exe.

@@Digital-Scriptorium Thank you, that worked! They should really fix that so you get the exe directly like before.

Are you folks able to hardwire to the Internet and pull updates? It might pull what you need.

@Enmortal_Edits I would be curious to hear if going to 40 fixes it
Hello!! If I have multiple disks, I have to select all? Or just the one I want to install fedora on, and format the other ones later?
Yeah, just the one you want to install it on. Then you can format the other after.
@Digital-Scriptorium thanks 🙏🏻

The software app is stuck on refresh. CAN YOU HELP?
Hmmm, it might be worth trying to do updates via terminal first. Then see if it helps the stability.
