I know that I have thanked you before, but I again mention my low vision & not being able to drive, because of it. So, thank you again. How beautiful the places that I get to see, because of your videos.
I'm enjoying the virtual vacation, Uncle Russ . I can imagine one time , after you've finished flying the drone , you'll go to get back into your van and there will be a bear sat in the seat and he turns to you and says " Are we ready to roll " ? Lol.
I love your videos. One minor correction for this one: the lake is spelled Koocanusa (= KOOtenai + CAnada + USA). I had grandparents who lived their lives in Eureka, and it is good to take a trip down memory lane. Eureka sure has changed from the place I remember over 50 years ago, but it is still beautiful!
Iam very glad to watch your channel we as foreigners subscribers enjoy to explore places unknown to us thank to modern technology especially internet UA-cam channels we as travelers around world in 24 hours make friendships with kind people like you learn about history and geography of countries different cultures costumes and improve our English level too as well iwish for your channel more progress and success stay safe blessed may this global pandemic end soon amen best wishes to you your dearest ones
🙋♀️Hello Russ! What a beautiful color of blue the 1st body of water had. The bridge looked new & turned out to be named the worlds most beautiful spanning bridge. The whole entire morning turned out to be beautiful! 👍
Thanks for the video. Miss the freedom of zipping across the border for coffee in Eureka, or shopping and visiting friends. Hope things change for the better soon. The Kootenay River starts North of Kootenay National Park (KNP) in British Columbia.
Russ, thanks a million for your letting us travel along with you on your 2020 Vacation and sharing your videos! Such dedication. BTW..you Remain in our prayers. This Home bound vacation trip may get challenging. Enjoy but do stay safe. Onward through the fog as it used to be said. Thanks again! (
I got out the small book I wrote about our cross country bike ride and checked and sure enough we rode our bikes along this lake. It was 100° that day and the sound carried across the water so that even though we were high above we could hear fishermen talking. Nesting ospreys were feeding their chicks and when we were near the parent would back off as the chicks screamed for their dinner.
1st...hope you didn't get caught in the early season snowfall, especially since you mentioned the chilly mornings now. GREAT storyboard shots so we can read them. VERY much appreciated. Just looking at the bridge you'd never know that it's so high above the actual riverbed before it was flooded. Wondering if the lake freezes over in winter. One of the stop reminds me of a rock/stone guard like what you see on Going to the Sun Rd in Glacier. This looks like maybe someone hit the stone part & destroyeda section...maybe a winter accidenton slippery icy snowy road. & they put up a metal guardrail replacement. Running out of words to describe the beautiful country you're taking us through. Putting this part of MT on my bucket list since I've never been down in this area before.
Thank you for the virtual vacation. I'm just starting to look at RVs and RV videos and stumbled across your channel. I subscribed after watching only 2 minutes. Love your videography and your commentary and your style. I live in NYC and would love to do and see what you are experiencing. Someday soon I hope, but in the meantime, your vids take me on that journey. Thank you and stay safe and God bless.
That's one very impressive bridge ! And a whole lot of serious hard rock excavations. Looks like some type of Quartzite. One of the hardest rocks there is. (Metamorphised Sandstone). Can still see the drill hole markings.
Loving these videos Russ and all the effort you're putting in to produce great content. We were heading there from Sydney this year, unfortunately that's not happening now. Your videos are helping us work out where we will go, once travel starts happening again, God Bless
I have been really enjoying watching your latest trip , I know your in Montana, just letting you know to avoid Oregon, we are having bad wildfire, even here on the coast. Anyways, love your channel.
Hello Russ, There are pike in this lake as well, dearly love this countryside. Hope you get to see an video a Grizzlie. Maybe on one of the air videos. Take Care be safe. Larry & Linda
Griz vs .Bleack bears--funny! The National Park Rangers are advising hikers in Glacier National Park and other Rocky Mountain parks to be alert for bears and take extra precautions to avoid an encounter. They advise park visitors to wear little bells on their clothes so they make noise when hiking. The bell noise allows bears to hear them coming from a distance and not be startled by a hiker accidentally sneaking up on them. This might cause a bear to charge. Visitors should also carry a pepper spray can just in case a bear is encountered. Spraying the pepper into the air will irritate the bear's sensitive nose and it will run away. It is also a good idea to keep an eye out for fresh bear scat so you have an idea if bears are in the area. People should be able to recognize the difference between black bear and grizzly bear scat. Black bear droppings are smaller and often contain berries, leaves, and possibly bits of fur. Grizzly bear droppings tend to contain small bells and smell of pepper.
I’ve hauled RV’s all over the country (for a living) land up into Canada and when I came down into here I fell in love with it and that lake that is hundreds of miles long . I’m going to retire there someday and do nothing but boat and fish. I love it because there are so few people around.
Love the music in the background. What is the name of the tune, category of music, or even of the musician(s), does anyone know? Thank you, for the tour!!
Russ, it snowed in Red Lodge Montana and Yellowstone Wy. Good timing. I don't know what part of Red lodge was and where you were. It has dipped down to 48 here in Neb.
Russ, how is the air turbulence buffeting on the RV since air tab installation? And have you noticed if they help keep the spray/dirt off the rear windows?
what about The problem with the generator you are running the AC and charging two 100 amp lithium batteries at the same time. Turn off the circuit breaker that goes to your charger
Grizzly bears?! Hey, can we please go back to the rattlesnakes? At least they give a warning before striking. According to the storyboard, Russ, you are correct: most of the recreational sites are on the west side of the reservoir where the border patrol was sitting. And for the tallest bridge in Montana one sure wouldn't know from just looking at it. I would have bet dollars to doughnuts that those pylons only went down 25-30 feet.
its called Koocanusa Lake, not Kookanusa lake, because the name of the lake came from the combining of the three names of the Kootenai River, Canada, and USA, all which it spans, hence the "C" and not the K. but still great video, i have personally been to that spot, high winds also, great for wind sports.
Wandering across the bridge into woodland nymph housing; I was playing D&D before game existed. Carlos the Dwarf probably has better insight...oh well, there I go. Quick shot of coffee and I'm out there
hwy 37 ends at Roosville, Montana, soon as I crossed into BC..the road had no traffic so I PUT the pedal to the metal to get to Elko..and just before rasere I was greeted by a RCMP Cop car---where i got s speeding ticket....like I said to the policeman--- ''there was no one on the road for miles ''
Wow what a ride across Montana on hwy 2 very beautiful Thank you
Hey Russ....You Must Wash The "BEAST" Every Day....It Is So Bright And Shiny Every Time You Show It In Your Videos .....Travel Safe My Friend....

Hi Russ.. The Bridge is 2,470 Feet long. Nice Video..
I love the sound of your van. She purrs like a kitten. 💜
I know that I have thanked you before, but I again mention my low vision & not being able to drive, because of it. So, thank you again. How beautiful the places
that I get to see, because of your videos.
A woman won a naming contest by combining Canada and USA. Koocanusa. It also goes into Canada.
Fun little drive.
Thank you for this video. My kid lives across the bridge and this was nice to show my parents her "neighborhood." It truly is a beautiful place.
Very cool Russ 😎

My second comment, for this video. Lake Kookanusa, interests me so much, that until your next video, I'll google Lake Kookanusa.
Ok, you just made me want to travel again..dang border closure!!!!🇨🇦❤🇺🇲🙋♀️👍‼️
Really enjoy your trips. The one up the Oregon coast was great. It helps for planning a trip.

Added to my Montana "Roaming the Rockies" tour in 2021. Thanks for your efforts, I know how much it takes to edit and upload videos like you post.
This Lake Kookanusa is an absolutely amazing place!
Russ, the camping spot at lake Kookanusa looked like the most peaceful camping spot I have seen. Great video.
Thanks for the video. Miss the freedom of zipping across the border for coffee in Eureka, or shopping and visiting friends. Hope things change for the better soon. The Kootenay River starts North of Kootenay National Park (KNP) in British Columbia.
I know this video was shot prior to the freak snowstorm that you're probably dealing with or dealt with. Stay safe out there!

I just discovered your videos the other day, I’m thoroughly enjoying them! So peaceful, so beautiful! Safe travels!!
Beautiful drive! Sure do hope you don’t run into the snow ❄️! Safe travels!
That lake is beautiful! Safe travels.
After you visit Libby, head for the Cabinet Mountains. They're very spectacular and probably even more so from your drone.
WOW some more great scenery and that is one deep lake. Watch out for snow.
i used to drive truck over that bridge and deliver foodstuffs to an Amish or Hutterite colony (can't remember which) some 20 miles back.
The Koocanusa Lake is about 370 feet deep
You are right ! World record Rainbows!
Great video Russ!😊
Such a peaceful area. Perfect for Social Distancing Thanks Russ!! Stay safe,

Hi Russ. Man that was some big lake. Great shots of the bridge from up top.Stay safe.
That's one very impressive bridge ! And a whole lot of serious hard rock excavations. Looks like some type of Quartzite. One of the hardest rocks there is. (Metamorphised Sandstone). Can still see the drill hole markings.
Great video. Those storyboards at the bridge were very interesting and informative (I just wish you had shown the third one as well). Safe travels.

I've been trying to find out the music as well. Can anyone help ?
Great video
I think you're going to get a chance to try out your diesel heater you guys installed! I'm curious how that's going to work. Stay safe!

nice ride russ did you run into snow monday?
Hey Russ you better start heading south before you get stuck up there in the snow.
its called Koocanusa Lake, not Kookanusa lake, because the name of the lake came from the combining of the three names of the Kootenai River, Canada, and USA, all which it spans, hence the "C" and not the K. but still great video, i have personally been to that spot, high winds also, great for wind sports.
Russ, did you get caught in the snowstorm that hit Montana?
Is this the bridge that was on the movie untouchables?
“Campgrounds and what-nots”😂😂
the name comes from Kootenii river, canada, and usa.
Wandering across the bridge into woodland nymph housing; I was playing D&D before game existed. Carlos the Dwarf probably has better insight...oh well, there I go. Quick shot of coffee and I'm out there
