Well making a videogame is hard as nails so to avoid spiraling into game development hell I like to work as organized as I can. The reason a lot of indie games fail is because they drown in their own project haha
this looks super promising, hope to see more. if theres one thing is the movement looks like it needs polishing and that dash attack i seen you use on the drones seems really out of place for the animation style you’re trying to go for since it’s so smooth instead of cutting frames like you want. besides that i really do love that it’s inspired by infamous, it means i’ll get to see something incredible. much love ❤
You are absolutely correct about the movement! And just between you and me i already remade and fixed the player movement but you'll see in the next dev log! Don't tell anyone. ;P
Just a nitpick, dynamics and aesthetic in the GDD are something completely different. Dynamics are player's utilization and combination of game's mechanics (if an explosion deals a knockback, the player can utilize it for a rocket jump). Aethetics isn't the visual, but the player's final overall experience (fast-paced adrenaline rush with little breaks, for example). I describe it because it is good to have a clarified cornerstone of what the game should be played and felt like. In the future, when you add an ability or an enemy, you can check whether it fits the set aesthetics and what dynamics it can bring, and whether those are desirable.
I was looking for references for how I should go about creating and editing my first devlog. You set the bar high. Is this your first video on the channel ever?!? Definitely subbed, your game looks awesome!
Hi thank you so much for the kind words you made me smile! This is actually the second video on this channel but the first one was posted 2 years ago and was a short 6 minute tutorial. The video had about 2.7K views. However I decided to remove the tutorial because the information given in it is a wrong way of doing something. And also I want this channel to be entertainment oriented and not educative. The next video will be posted during or shortly after this weekend so keep an eye out for that! Thanks again for the compliment! :)
I actually really like this idea, however I must say it will be very difficult to make. In the next devlog I will talk about different experiments and gameplay styles I have tried out the last month. Maybe I'll try your idea out as well since it sounds really cool! Anyways I have already implemented a way to "Upgrade" the player. But that will be revealed next episode. Thanks for your feedback! ;D
wow that's actually really clever of you! Because during playtesting I was avoiding switching weapons because it eliminates flow. Hotkeys and mouse wheel controls make so much more sense! Thanks!
Cool concept of the game, really love to see more. You got my sub!
I loved to see the planning, really shows you are thinking about the steps you are taking. Also good for you that you started early on with the GDD.

Thank you so much for pointing this out! I've only just recently learned about game design documents and this really nudges me in the right direction!

This looks really good. I'll definitely be sticking around for the next dev log. Also what game engine are you using?
I'm rocking the Unity Engine, I've been using it for all my life so it's my preferable choice. Thanks for the kind words :)
W video
looks sick
Cool project 👍
Will the game allow me to fulfill my Gojo fantasy’s
It will give you a superhuman feeling when playing, so yes :)
@@EngGameDev can’t wait for it to come out
Nice, I'd play this if I could.
You can eventually! The game is still too early in production to tell when this is going to release but be sure to keep an eye out for new devlogs!
Amazing🥰
good
game looks awesome
since its about chemicals it would be cool later in the game you can combine two powers to make new ones

Drop the menu, completely stops the gameplay. Put your different liquids into hotkeys or your mouse wheel.
