This may actually be my favorite, It was so intense.
Great reaction! I've seen this many times, and it's still hard to imagine that Avi and Kevin had just joined the Trio a few weeks before, and they are this tight already. If you think back over the first few performances, Ben kept telling them to not rush and to not get ahead of the beat. I think the problem was that the Trio had to learn to trust Avi and Kevin to keep the beat and follow their lead - which they certainly did in this one. Looking forward to the next one - #6!
That is truly mindblowing! Such short time.
Thanks for watching ´
Dont feel bad for "being in the moment" when you already know the outcome of the video! I do the same thing! I even pray for people to do well, knowing it's pre-recorded! Lol
They are all ALL amazing. I love them ALL! But, Scotty is really a vocal beast in a different way than Mitch, but his vocals are really powerful.
And they were doing it all on their own....!!!
I know which performances are the fan favorites, and I agree the favorites were all amazing, but this one is MY favorite. The intensity they brought was just so palpable. That being said, there are three more ahead of you that blew my mind, and none of the performances were weak by any means. This is Pentatonix, they started on fire and have kept up the momentum for 13 years!
Amazing performance.
I agree. They're all really good, definitely worth listening to, but I love this one for its intensity.
yeah, this has always been my favorite. Ben Folds called it primal, and he's right. This was also the one that solidified Shawn as the original Pentaholic, lol.
Me too. I know they won but I’m still always nervous🤪😆😜💗
😅😃
I’m a relatively new pentaholic (2020), when I saw a reactor doing these, I watched them all and was nervous the whole time even though I knew they’d won. I’ve also watched the eliminations, the opening numbers and a couple of full episodes to see some of the other groups. At this point in the competition, PTX is the smallest and one of the younger groups.
Must have been so nervewracking for them and the fans at the time. I cant imagine competing under this immense pressure. They did an amazing job.
I have seen these many times and I still love them. So fascinating.
So good! Excited for the next one. Thanks for watching.
You're absolutely right! Don't even think about skipping any of the performances! Each one is outstanding in its own way, and there's not a bad performance in the batch. Some are more spectacular than others, but PTX earned their win, week after week after week.
Looking forward to all of them. This is so much fun.
Great reaction. Thanks. At the beginning of the seasons the groups needed to pick a spokesperson/lead for the show. Scott had the most outgoing personality and he was the one who had the idea to start the band so, naturally, Scott was picked. Also, his baritone voice and large vocal range were factors.
Definitely makes sense! Thanks so much for watching.
Best reaction so far. This is one of my favorite performances....they blew this out the water....they only get better.
What a performance! Looking forward to the next one. Thanks for watching.
@@SaeedReacts. just buckle your seat belt for performances 7, 10 and 12!!
The Sing Off competition was a great learning process to them. Each performance was a real crafting process to them in all senses. It's Just a blast seeing a reactor knowing where they came from or knowing them for the 1st time. Great job Saeed
Such a fun journey! Thanks watching.
Yay- more Sing Off! There are a few that aren’t my faves, but in order to progress in their craft, it was almost necessary for some of the arrangements/songs to not work as well in order to initiate more creativity and passion/effort to succeed (not that they didn’t already have a lot). As usual I love your commentary, Saeed (and your sense of humor, too). 💜
Definitely you need that sometimes to fuel the fire even more. Thanks for watching!
The *POWER* each of these five kids possess is off the charts. They have learned quickly how to harness it and how to release it for the best effect. Despite the producers trying to box everyone into what they perceive they should be, PTX stayed true to themselves and made wise and risky decisions. Quite a feat for such a young group of kids that barely knew each other. So glad it paid off for them...and us! Never was a Kanye (or Britney) fan but this group makes them tolerable. Can hardly wait for what's coming, hurry...hurry...hurry! Love following you on this journey!
They definitely make me appreciate certain songs more than the original. Thanks for joining me on this journey.
I'm sitting here wishing that you'd either do all the rest of these right now-today-or that I hadn't found them until you'd done them all! Watching these first five spread out over two weeks has only added to the urgency I feel for you to see the entire journey through to the end! It doesn't matter that I've seen these all dozens of times, starting with the original shows back in 2011 (after Video Killed the Radio Star, I was completely invested in these young dreamers). The joy of being able to share that journey over and over again with each new reactor with whom I've built a relationship is incomparable. Not all reactors feel like friends, but some really do, and it just adds to my own experience to be able to watch others follow the same path. It just keeps getting better. Yes, some performances stand out, some not so much. But they all show the magic as it happened. Thanks for sharing your reactions with us.
Sorry to keep you on the edge of your seat 😅. I would have done them faster, but got so swamped with requests that i had to pace myself a little.
I am very much looking forward to the rest of the performances and am super grateful that you keep tuning in. Have a great day.
@SaeedReacts. Thanks, so much. And I realized last night that I missed a bunch of your other recent Pentatonix reactions (probably because I've been so sucked into everything going on here politically that my news watching has taken over everything else). So I've got them all pulled aside, now. Hopefully, that will help with the anxiety of waiting to share all of these Sing-Off performances with you! 😁
The producers pretty much insisted on Scott being the lead and were reluctant to showcase Mitch as a lead because he was gay. Additionally, Mitch had a lot of anxiety performing on a national stage, so I think they eased him into it, and that helped him gain confidence.
There is Superfruit video where Mitch jokes with Scott about having to use his "masc" (masculine) voice for the whole season. It was upsetting to the group. PTX makes a statement with Mitch's performance in the last competition song. So good! It just keeps getting better and better from here.
Thank you for doing these. It is so fun to watch a reactor experience the birth of this amazing group. This was just their fifth performance as a group, and to think the first ET performance was just a couple of weeks after forming as a group. Their audition for the show was just a few days after them first meeting up together as a group. They simply were meant to be.
I think they also made a statement before 'without you' by going to the Trevor Project. This is a LGBT support group, though that wasn't mentioned in the video, that supports gay teens that are in danger of suicidal tendencies.
@@marcgarrett4401 they tried to. Bit, the producers edited that piece so much there wasn't a hint if LGBTQ. They made it look like just a teenage suicide prevention program with no hint of subject of homosexuality. Much as I dislike the way the show handled some things, in the end it did introduce Pentatonix to the world and for that I am grateful.
Kinda wild considering Mitch and Scott were formerly a couple
@@loriculver7282 Yes, this. If you watch that segment, there's a chunk where you can see something (paper?) was taped over part of the Trevor Project sign on the wall in their own building, presumably because the Sing-Off production team didn't want GLBT or whatever was under there showing on their broadcast. It's ignorant and bigoted and despicable the way they basically shoved The Trevor Project into a closet and nailed the door shut. Yes, it's great that Pentatonix formed (adding Kevin and Avi) and got their start through the show, but whoever made that decision to pretend gay people don't exist so far as their show is concerned needs a good kick in the head.
Watching their growth was amazing!!!
So amazing to witness. Even now.
Actually, PTX has done a couple of songs with just 4. Those are between Avi and Matt. "Dancing on my own" and "Away in a Manger"
I think i may have reacted to one of those.
I always feel nervous when looking at these. 😂 Geniuses at work TX Saeed. Greetings from South Africa
True geniuses! Thanks for watching. Greetings from Belgium.
Those who haven't followed them from the beginning never saw their potential!!!

I loved their journey on the Sing Off...that show was a shot-in-the-arm for a'capella..and Pentatonix was the new recipe to bring it back into main stream music...
Their style of arrangements and physicality on stage eclipsed all the other groups..even with their 1st song... I certainly would ask you to view for yourself..there are performances you definitely don't want to miss...Love Lock Down was without a doubt a huge success..and one of my favorites from the show but please please watch them all..🙏...
Again I remind you to note..the wall of sound..the tempo..and the way they build tension and release...call me crazy but I swear this may have come from their choir singing in the church... either it was 2 of the main trio or all 3 of them that sang with the church...either way it's like a stamp on their performances...
Well..thank you for checking out their 'birth'..you will love the rest...have an excellent day young man..🌿🌿🌿
Beautifully described! Thanks for taking the time to comment this. Appreciate it. Have a great day.
Hello Saeed! They just get better. I can't believe I saw this ten minutes after you uploaded it. Thanks again!! Looking forward to the rest.
Hello Meg! This was an amazing performance. Definitely excited for the next one.
@@SaeedReacts. Me too!
LMAO!! Being in the moment there, loved that, made me laugh.
😅😃
Great reaction! They not only wanted to win, they craved and Needed to win. They said themselves it was their ticket to a Chance of singing for a living, their dream. My understanding is the producers of the show pushed for the group to have a “leader” in Scott. The group wanted to rotate the spotlight to whoever could sing or perform that part the best. Mitch and Kirstie and the meat and potatoes all “shined” but you will see Scott taking the lead. Later in the contest when the voting was done by the viewing audience and not the judges/ producers PTX showed their spirit and that Mitch indeed was being born as a stunning singer.
I hold my breath when I watch them perform even though I know they won it all and I have seen each Sing Off performance many times. ❤❤❤❤❤
They were hungry!
Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment 🙏🏽
Thanks Saeed, performances are starting to heat up. Ya, there are 1 or 2, not my favs, but it's all part of their journey. Thanks for doing these. It's been awhile since I've watched them, really enjoying and appreciate your thoughts on it.
Looking forward to the next one. Thanks for watching and have a wonderful day.
Just gettin' better
Once again, Kirstie looked scared after the performance. I’m getting a better idea about how much pressure they put on themselves.
If you want to react to more Pentatonix from this season, there are also the mega-group collaborations. At the start of each episode, all of the groups appearing in that episode did a large group number together. These are still some of my favourite musical performances from this show series. No other singing competition show has ever done group collaborations as well as The Sing-Off. You get to see the vocal talent Pentatonix was up against. PTX appeared in episodes 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11. The songs are:
Ep 2: "Sing" by My Chemical Romance ua-cam.com/video/aXDsNl57jLc/v-deo.html
Ep 4: "Rhythm of Love" by Plain White T's ua-cam.com/video/VpAQfAmS6UY/v-deo.html

Ep 8: "Wake Up" by Arcade Fire ua-cam.com/video/JJ_hj5o9UqY/v-deo.html

In the finale, episode 11, PTX also participated in 2 other multi-group collabs:

In the Sing-Off Christmas special that aired 1 week after episode 11, PTX was featured in 5 numbers:
- Opening Performance (PTX/Committed/Nota) ua-cam.com/video/hZJYLpzplGo/v-deo.html

There is also PTX's victory song which got cut off from this video you just reacted to: "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor. ua-cam.com/video/e05Dq23zbqc/v-deo.html
And of course, Nick Lachey singing with PTX - "Give Me Just One Night (Una Noche)" by 98 Degrees. ua-cam.com/video/d36cAlJ9N4w/v-deo.html
Among the competitors to PTX, there were some excellent performances by Dartmouth Aires, Afro-Blue, Delilah and Vocal Point.
Oh, that is interesting! Didnt know about these. Thanks for sharing.
⚡⚡🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥⚡⚡
Ya have to be it...
That's what it takes...
Definitely!
I dont the story complete, but I remember Ptx were mad at the Producers of the show, because they want to show a more manly Scott, and they didnt wanted Mitch to be a the leader, because he is gay, and show more than Scott, so in this song they sing more angry, I hope someone know the story better
In Superfruit's reaction video to their Sing Off performances, Scott did say that they were all really mad as they did the song, but he didn't elaborate. What you said in your comment is basically what everyone takes as the reason why.
@@charlottevan_8 Mitch made a comment in that same Superfruit video about having to use his "masc" (masculine) voice for the whole competition. Then, their piece about their chosen charity, the Trevor Project, whose focus was suicide prevention in the LBGTQ teenager community was edited to eliminate any mention of LGBTQ.
@@loriculver7282 That's so absurd that they had to deal with that. I would hope that, if The Sing Off were to happen now, that attitude of the producers would have long since disappeared.
These were teenagers...
Mindblowing!
