I think the trailer was fine. But for some reason, every single person seems to have been "dreaming about a minecraft movie for 10 years" or whatever. And like, ok, cool, what would you have wanted? People clearly don't like the realistic mobs, so, would you have preferred live action people inside a 1:1 minecraft world without realistic elements? Would that not look horrible? Oh, but what about regular Minecraft characters in a regular Minecraft world? Oh, then wouldn't everyone complain that "This is just Storymode V2" or "This is just a minecraft animated story from 2017". Like, what do you actually want, here? It seems that just because a bunch of UA-camrs farmed engagement off of hating the movie (because making a video saying the trailer is fine wouldn't get clicks, but saying it's horrible gets a lot of clicks), now everyone refuses to actually form an opinion and think about what could've been done differently.
It should have been fully animated. The realistic people and the cgi world doesn't mesh up quite well acc to many people. And characters are already off-putting. Look at steve - I didn't even know he was steve untill jack black said the dialogue - this shows the characters are not accurate.
