Also, I just wanted to mention to others that you need to get the original book - so hilariously funny and informative on the whole system, also I have had the menu book which I used to use with my family and I still have the Happiness File book which I used for a long time also. Find the books on Amazon or Ebay probably. Remember to write all the things you need to get each job done- on the back of each card to gather all you need to make each little task easy and fast-I love it and am excited to get started again on it!
I just started this system love it. Still shuffling the cards to get a better flow. Checking the cards the night before helps to prepare for the next day.
I first saw them on April 6, 1983 & I couldn't believe what a help. I have A.D.D. but never knew any adult woman who admitted it. I love how they reinvented themselves over and over & kept going all those years. My mother was "born organized" & she always said "It is easy to clean a CLEAN house." Denise Schofield wrote "Confessions of an Organized Housewife" which was good help, but she was born organized.
Brenda, I too have used this system on and off for gosh-30 years!!!! My card box looks just like yours and I pulled it out this week to start doing the system again. I did this set 10 years ago when I first moved into our current home. So gals - change your cards each time you move to adjust to the current home you live in. I was wondering if the Sidetracked Sisters were still around, or on YOU TUBE, or if new books have been written, etc. and I found your video! Gals, I love this system and it is such a relief to know that everything will get done in due time during the year or season and so you don't have to fret or massively clean up in a frantic fit! Such a great system- especially when your family is growing and not much is organized!!! thanks for the video- keep those cards going!!!!
I was sad to hear of Pam Young's passing which I saw on a FlyLady video in July: ua-cam.com/video/0XCyaqSzFj8/v-deo.html I read that her sister, Peggy Jones retired due to MS but do not know how long ago that was written. I first saw the sisters on The 700 Club, purchased the books "Side-Tracked Home Executives" and "The Side-Tracked Sisters Catch Up on the Kitchen" along with index cards and a container. I read the books then did....absolutely nothing. I got side-tracked for about 30 years!!!! I found an unused index container and 3x5 index card dividers and wonder if those are the ones I purchased with good intentions. Now as I search for a system to keep my apartment clean and schedule appointments I've tried a Bullet Journal, Hobonichi Planner, and Travelers Notebooks (TN) in regular and Passport sizes...I'm drawn back to the simplicity of the index cards while utilizing FlyLady's techniques.
I didn’t know Pam had passed. How sad. Hope Peggy is doing well. I think I’ve tried all the same things you have. Somewhere along the way I list my card file. I bought new supplies and never did anything with them. Now that my kids are grown, it’s gotten easier. I’ve developed some habits that I stick to: making the bed, emptying the dishwasher every morning (and getting my husband and son to load as they use dishes), cleaning the bathrooms every Sunday and watering the plants. I could never grow plants until I got into the habit of watering them! Lol. We recently moved back to Michigan and are living with my daughter and her family until our house is ready - 6 people and 2 big dogs in 1000 sq feet! I’m continuing my habits and hoping some of them rub off!
my mom used this file system a long time ago ..but i was moved away and married .. i keep hearing about this box but i havent seen it broken down ..thanks for the vid and the comments are great info too!
I love them, they truely understand being sidetracked. You can find the books on ebay, that's where I got mine. Keep the videos coming, you are inspirational for me Thanks
Thank you, Brenda! I was trying to find a video explaining this system to share with a friend. I only have mine partially set up so couldn't explain it very well myself.
Same here. I happened across the first book when it first came out. I was intrigued by the cartoon cover and bought it. I had no idea that this unpretentious little book would turn out to be such a life changer!
Finally!! Someone with ADHD explaining it. Every other video was just so looooong. Thank you

This is an amazing system. I read a book on it years ago and need to implement it again. It’s a fun system and it works.
The books and cards are available on Pam Young's website: www.cluborganized.com/she-de-junking-video-and-35-cardfile-system

The books (sidetracked home executives and the happiness file) are now available as ebooks.
Lisa Lamphier thank you! All these years later, I still treasure those books and the ladies who wrote them.

Thank you 🙂🙏🏻
Nicely done Brenda. You said it succinctly. Rare on You Tube. X🌹
Try FlyLady system too! She has a free app that acts like the cards in this file system.
Please, do you have a link or name of the app?
Barbra the app is FlyLadyPlus and the website is FlyLady.net
@@ihaveasunrae too bad it's for iOS phones only ☹️, but thanks for your help.
Hey guess what! They still have a site called shes in touch dot com and they still sell the book! Thanks for the tip! :-)
Holy cow, you needed a tri-pod for this video!
Jane Snow LOL one handed video!
The books are out of print, but you can get them used in Abe Books!! I did!!!
They're available on Pam Young's website: www.cluborganized.com/she-de-junking-video-and-35-cardfile-system
Could you send me a more detailed look at your cards. I am using this system but I have overwhelmed myself with cards
Can men use this and can we call it a HE box?
It would still be called S.H.E. Sidetracked Home Executives. The name has nothing to do with sex.
If He wants to clean lol
Que wea no se que dijiste
