I found new ones to pick up so thank you! I have one of the one by Ariel Lawhorn so I’m excited to read it soon. I read The Frozen River in January or February and it was a 5 star read for me as well! Ruta Sepetys is one of my favorite authors and I always enjoy her books. I can’t wait until her next release. Thanks for the recommendations Jen!
So glad I found your channel and love that you listed the books. I have read the Kitchen House and loved it and have several of the other books in my library but haven't read yet. I can't wait to check out your past videos and look forward to future ones. Thanks!
I just finished The Nature of Fragile Things and really liked it. The Lost Girls of Willowbrook is so good. I own The Fountains of Silence, must read!! Thanks! I recommend Surviving Savannah by Patti Callahan Henry and One Thousand White Women: The Journals of May Dodd by Jim Fergus.
10000% agree about Take My Hand - made me want to just scream. But it's such a well-written book and so impactful. I've read 2 books by Sadeqa Johnson that I really liked and recommend- The Yellow Wife (pre Civil War) and The House of Eve (1950s).
I’m currently reading The Picture Bride about young Korean women after WWI being sent to Hawaii to marry men they have only ever seen a picture of. It is SO good!
Thank you for the recommendations. Have you read Summertime by Vanessa Lafaye or any of Debbie Rix books? I just read The Glassmaker by Tracy Chevalier. All these I found to be great historical fiction reads.
I too read so much WWII that I did get burnt out. Now I only read on every once in awhile. I am now reading Miss Morgan’s Book Brigade by Janet Skeslien Charles set just about the end of WWI and the rebuilding of France by a US group named CARD. It is based on a true story and a real person Ann Morgan.
Thanks for adding the book titles in the drop-down. Really enjoying your content Jen. Have a good day!
