    This video is perfect, as i struggled a few minutes to imagine the movements of the parts in my head

    Could you comment on longevity of these vane pumps? It seems that there is a friction and metal-on-metal contact between the metal vanes and the metal housing that must eventually lead to wear of both.

      The vanes are not metal. They are composite and yes, over time they do wear. Periodically these vanes should be inspected and replaced when worn.

    Is the vane pump use centrifugal force to work? Or it works on tge pressure difference. Could u explain thanku

    • @VikingPumpInc
      @VikingPumpInc  Рік тому

      Vane pumps do not create flow using centrifugal force - they are positive displacement pumps. With that said, centrifugal force - along with hydraulic pressure and push rods - work to operate the vanes themselves and extend them to the casing wall. That is what then creates an expanding cavity, or vacuum, that pulls liquid into the pump.
      Here is a link to a video about the difference between flow and pressure that may provide some more context: ua-cam.com/video/Upx-ecYwCLw/v-deo.html

    What if Vane pump for sugar massecuite application? Is it possible?

    • @VikingPumpInc
      @VikingPumpInc  2 роки тому +2

      It may be possible...but is definitely not ideal. Vane pumps would not be the best choice for sugar massecuite due to its viscosity and the presence of developing sugar crystals. Viking Pump has an internal gear pump designed specifically for handling sugar massecuite that would be a much better fit: ua-cam.com/video/j9lLNWeulHE/v-deo.html

    how is this mechanism raise the pressure of the fluid it seems to me that it supply the fluid with kinetic energy how this mechanism raise the pressure

      Rotary positive displacement pumps - like the vane pump - are flow creating machines. Any pressure that is created is dependent on a number of factors. We cover these in our video Flow vs Pressure: ua-cam.com/video/Upx-ecYwCLw/v-deo.html

    Can vane pump be used for compressing air .

    • @VikingPumpInc
      @VikingPumpInc  2 роки тому +2

      Vane pumps, like shown in the video, can not be used as compressors. While pumps and compressors are often similar in operating principle, pumps are designed for handling liquids and compressors for handling gases. However, compressor designs do exist that use the same principle. (Visit ua-cam.com/users/GASTManufacturing for more information)

      Hello! Those are probably just the "closed captions" that are loaded with the video. All you have to do is turn the captions off by clicking the "CC" button in the bottom right corner of the UA-cam video player - To the left of the "settings" gear.

      @@cck1496 The full list of industrial applications is too numerous to list here, but vane pumps are typically used on thin, low-viscosity applications like solvents or alcohol. For more information, here is a link to our LVP Series™ www.vikingpump.com/pumps/vane/lvp-series
