Great video, very informative. I was just there in February. Yes it was a little cool in Rome (about 55/60), but the lack of crowds made it well worth it. I was able to walk right into all of the attractions, including the Sistine Chapel, without having to wait in any lines. I was part of a small tour group and the guide did a great job explaining everything ahead of time, especially the Chapel where you’re not supposed to talk while in there. Then my wife and I flew to London for a week and it was the same: no crowds. It was chilly at about 45/50, but not too bad. The only downside is that some attractions have limited hours or are getting repairs done during the down time off season.
I went in early December, and I think I got lucky too. The line seemed to be mostly just a few dozen clergy clocking in for work, and the videos I've seen of the lines since blew my mind. I was the only person in the gallery with Raphael's Transfiguration, and nobody was within a stone's throw of me at the Pieta. Heh, the cafeteria was a little unnerving; "why is it only me and two other little tables eating in this huge place? Is this where they make the Lutherans eat lunch?" ;)
Thank you! This is super helpful. We're visiting in a couple of months and your video and website have helped so much - will definitely be booking a tour with you guys!
I spoke with Bojan today , I am planning my Rome trip very soon in March . I plan on using your services for Florence , Venice and Rome!! Now problem is how many days in each . Hi! Did you guys make this tour at 2:30 pm? Was it crowded? I want to book an early tour to avoid the crowds but my husband is not a morning person 😅 wondering if it's super packed in the afternoon.
Best thing I did was get a “skip the line tour” for the Vatican with a local company on Expedia. Even in November there was a 2 hour line. Best extra 30€ I spent on the trip. The guide even asked who wanted to leave the tour after we were in. Lol

Hello! I was looking at the offered tours and is it better to do the early tour with the Dome Climb or the early access to Sistine Chapel? A lot of reviews and tips mention how great the early access tour to the Chapel are great for seeing everything without crowds, but there isn't any of those tours with the dome climb, which is also described as a great experience. Advice??? I will be going in late February if that helps determine crowd conditions.
Hi! It’s one of those double edge sword choices. If you do the dome climb first, you won’t have many crowds at the dome. We don’t wait in line to get inside the Vatican museums (where Sistine chapel is), but there will be more crowds than in the early entrance tours. If you do the Vatican first, you’ll wait in line and have crowds at the dome. A good option is to seperate the two but you’ll pay more. There is a st Pete’s dome tour on its own you can do then you can do a Vatican early morning tour the next day. We also have a new Vatican at night tour coming out which is mega exclusive with an amazing experience but at a higher price (150€). If interested, email into@thetourguy.com and ask about the new Vatican closing tour.
