Honestly the first remake has actually pretty good ratings (88% User Score on Rotten Tomatoes for example) and litrally everyone I know personally loved that movie or at least thought it was good. One of my friends even said he likes it more than the original. While I wouldn't go that far myself I have to say that I also really really loved the remake and that it brought me back into the fandom. It's also the only movie yet I have seen in the cinema where people we're actually applauding at the end. Honestly I think the remake is way more loved than people realize and that the haters online are nothing more than a loud minority. The comments under official videos like the soundtrack or trailers from the 2019 movie are also more positive than negative
