Shame that most of the 28,000 miles in the note was done against a wall!
😂😂😂
The car had sensors, shame the previous owner never used them.
Classic.
Buy a car less then 30000 mls less then 3 years old ,and keep till scrap.
Lol
Good to see you getting a holiday. Looking forward to seeing more about your recent purchases
I had a Peugeot where the dash fault meant that the mileage hardly went up, 10 miles was 0.4 miles randomly sometimes almost correct, so it does happen and you can miss it if you don't check.
Yep look on autel service cluster special functions and it will show mileage ad you can also change it
You do a lot more car prep than any USA used car dealer I have ever purchased cars from. A lot of that stuff would just be left for the buyer to sort out!
Note n-tec+ chrome fog light surrounds are as rare as unicorn farts.I have one and I'm in the owners club, the amount of people trying to find them is crazy.Great little cars.
Great video and update James still loving the channel !
Good to hear
Great video James as always. You have some nice cars there in the background.
Thanks 👍
My dog is a Pug and he’s the best lad ever. But he is the only Pug I would ever buy.
I considered a Note when they were new, but finding one here in the 'states with a manual transmission was next to impossible. Most all here had CVTs.
Well deserved holiday hope it was great. Welcome back. 👍👍👍👍
On The Peugeot 206 you were looking at the oil temp gauge, Coolant temp is beside the fuel gauge.
just came to say that
I'm a plum eh
@@ChopsGarage Running a business and making content to entertain us, Nope not a plum.
Love a note , I m looking for 1.5dci . I'm not bothered about wheels refurb
The Mirage Juro had the heated seats, my dad has a 2016 one, not sure if it was a top spec model but his has half leather seats too.
Oh cool
It’s always such a motivator seeing the unit, for me to keep on pushing myself forward, and hopefully 🤞🏽 sooner rather then later il have my own little unit, keep up the great content.
Give up kid. Live your life the car game will kill you.
It will come mate you just need to step back at look at what is really working for you
@@badgersalesman5595 I appreciate the advice, but it’s worth giving it a shot as Iv already got a bit of stock to shift on.
That Peugeots has had new ecu kit I would expect to jump mileage like that, and the temp gauge was the oil temp gauge which takes ages to move
Oh lol I'm a plum
18:48 Is that an electric aerial that is stuck up?
I’m sure the 207 had a dashboard changed, that’s not the correct one for the year.
That’s a late 2009 dash.
Oh I'll check that
Hi James, glad you had a great family holiday, I cannot believe the things your going to do the 2012 Note, every dealer I know of would just put that up for sale as is,wheels and bodywork including big well established dealers .
With low miles you want mint body. If it were 100k I might not bother
@ChopsGarage you really are in the minority, I really admire your work attitude and fair approach, there are still too many " dodgy car dealers around".
Wonder if someones been switching parts on that Peugeot because i had a citroen xsara pic' once and when I tried to update it's tatty interior I changed the instrument cluster and my milage jumped from 140 something thousand to 189k because apparently whichever data has highest mileage updates the other, so in my case the higher mileage odometer updated the ecu and from then on my car always said 189k+ even with original cluster plugged back in.
Possibly
Great car the Nissan Note because it was a proper Nissan built in Sunderland. No or very little Renault parts on them. We sold loads of them. As good as a Honda Jazz and as reliable as well.
Yep great motors
The Peugeot gauge you pointed to was oil temp. Coolant temp looked inaccurate unless you have only just fired it up
Yes I'm plum
That Note would be considered 1 careful owner by Ibiza or Zante standards... No need for reverse sensors, just stop when you hear bumper on bumper 😅 that's why they're called bumpers 😂
Lol
Has a random 1 appeared on the speedo making it 150k,happened to me on a merc the 0 faded to a 1 so it was 69k then next mot 169k even tho it hadn't left my premises.
Zante been quite a few times laganas several times and kalamaki , must admit I do like Zakyntos. Since maybe xmas my partner has an 07.207 1.4 which actually flew through its MOT.last week the car was my Dad's and 84 he's decided to stop driving , Dad bought the car at under a year old it's now done 65,000 miles the 1 thing he always mentioned was the temperature gauge never went up much in our ownership.ive noticed the same if it gets up too a 3rd of the guage it's done well, maybe it's a characteristic as in 14/15 years it's been owned by our family it's never over heated or broken down. Yours seems very noisy as if it had done more than double of ours. You mentioned 1.2 and 1.5. I presumed all petrol 207s were 1.4 and 1.6. I apologise if there is also 1.2 and 1.5 ours is.definetly a 1.4 16V with about.85-90 bhp. After all the years it's been in our family I think Peugeot's particularly the small cars are much better than they are given credit for.
Might be 1.4 mate you could be right
As long as it goes it doesn’t really matter what it looks like.
The funniest part exchange I did was when my previous car failed, the dealer I was getting the new "used" car from was offering a 1k part exchange as long as your car drove onto the forecourt. I managed to drive it there, even though one of the pistons had cracked and it was very very noisy and slow to drive. I was completely honest about the state of vehicle and they took it anyway.
Good on you being honest
That Peugeot sounds like a sowing machine, definitely needs the tappets looking at.
Yes tappety but will go on like that forever
They were like that new I had the same engine in a Citroen c3 mk1
@@danielrussell446 I still wouldn't buy a car sounding like that.
@@adamweston4152 I would be worried about the mileage so probably would agree they are tough engines and can take a pasting but they still need servicing and parts can be expensive
Welcome back james glad you got away and had some time out,i would say definitely retail the note although you we're looking at the oil gauge not the temp gauge🙂peugeot is an odd one but definitely a trade or spares, look forward to the next🙂👍
I'm a plum eh
British area too concerned over the mileage of a vehicle. Where I reside we are looking at 300-400k on used vehicles.
Us Brits really take a lot of pride in our motors, we always want something really clean, low miles (generally speaking..., Some people just trash their cars!) To us anything over 100,000 miles is "too high" and isn't worth looking after so most people don't , once they get past the 100k or 120k mark they run them into the ground and stop maintenance which kills a lot of vehicles and the salt in winter times tends to rot vehicles before they get near 200k ! , we have a couple golfs and a Leon TDi's that have 200k and 290k miles respectively and no one can believe a car can last that long 😂
@@thatpeskyswanYou should drive my 530 thousand mile Octavia ,0r my 310 thousand mile A3 . Want a car to last ‘ change the oil yourself don’t trust a garage’ and do belts and chains when the manufacturer recommends it 👍
@@cwshtygriff13 You are exactly right, oil every 5000 miles or less, its the cheapest insurance you will buy.
@@rbnhd1144 💯👍
I'd agree here
that was just your oil temp that was staying nice and cool, your coolant temp is in the middle and that came up fine
I'm a plum eh lol
Classic Chops video. 👌
Cheers
the only car with interest is the MGB GT great colour too
That’s the oil temperature on the Peugeot water temperature by the fuel gauge James great content
Cheers I'm a muppet lol
The irony of the 'R538 BBW' plate.. can't see a BBW getting in/out of that car.. ;-)
What happened with the Peugeot dashboard. Did you not get it checked?
The Note was a local car up here in Manchester/Liverpool area originally and possibly a Motability car as sold at 3 years old hence the service history. Peugeot sounded quite rough to me. Glad you had a great holiday you deserved that
I thought it sounded a bit tappety - is that a legacy of those old Talbot engines that sounded like that after reaching about 10 miles or 3 weeks old lol?
They do tend to sound rough
@@darrenwilson8042 no completely different I know the Talbot engines you mean and they were originally Simca engines overhead valve
That engine is a XU Peugeot engine used in many Citroens and Peugeots of the time and they do sound like a sewing machine a bit!
The MG has a lovely registration number.
Ot noticed
Looks like you left the sunshine back in Zante.
Lol
that little e-bike looks handy to carry around in your car
Yes handy
Nice car james woud do someone for a few years

1200 then 2000 then 3000 and then compound
@@ChopsGarage and then in my case..... Book it into the bodyshop😁. Actually I'm aiming to do a minor repair after watching you guide your wee girl through one on the Camry. Very useful.
28k miles is great. Shame it was driven through a hedge several times from the look if it
What sort of compensation do Vertical pay ? When they get reports wrong 🤔. Serous question’ assuming you know the answer. Thanks in advance’ as I honestly don’t know myself. All I’ve heard is a couple of horror stories’ which we didn’t get back in the day 👍
Don't know. I don't know if any do. I guess that's something a judge would decide
My Alfa Romeo in 5 year went from Nottingham over to Republic of Ireland for two years and then sold up in Northern Ireland a few years back. The previous two services were done in Dublin and recorded in km and in Northern Ireland at the MOT they recorded the miles as kilometres so instead of showing 100k miles in the UK it showed 163k miles which was a bloody nightmare to sort out trying to get it all corrected as they wouldn't change the units on the certificate. Something similar might have happened with the Peugeot.
I bet! No not in this case
Notes have a Granddad image - like the i20 does - but both are great reliable cars. Just had a week on the South Coast - travelling 320 miles to get there plenty of exotica awaiting the recovery services but no Notes, i20's nor Micra's. Tells its own story.
When I was a kid in the late 60's early 70's I was brought up on stories of fragile crap French and Italian cars............. ownership and experience from when I began driving tells me thats just not the case. However the ever reliable VW brand is living on the reputation it gained in the 60's and 70's ...........................
My 1st car was a Datsun & I got stick for buying Jap crap as others called it never had a problem though unlike others with Maestos or Metros or even my bosses Rover SD1
As I always say people are magpies and buy the wrong cars
I don't really get the thing with German cars. Objective warranty data shows they break a lot. If you want dependable, Japanese or Korean is your best bet. But nothing is 100% of course.
You do realize that the gauge on the 207 is the oil temp not the coolant don't you?? You don't get air locks in the oil system
207 temp sensor is out or air block lol that isn't coolant reader🤣

Its the ital but its just a face lift marina really
I did a vid on it bud , test drive and everything
207 are known for clocks, bsi , ecu to fail one of whatever really
Oh cool
Low mileage yet they managed to trash it every time they took it on the road....
You find that tend to sell afteef a few bumps and decide to stop driving
Its weird i wasnt notified about this video i normally am.
Mmm not sure why not

I Know dealers have all that VAT nonsense to put up with eating away at their profits but why should good owners have to take such a big hit when they PX . Dealers want plenty of service history that might have cost an owner thousands of pounds but when they come to sell its probably only going to get them a few hundred extra in PX as opposed to a car with a doubtful history. I even had a dealer looking underneath the rear wing looking for stone chips on my 14000 mile car. The car he was trying to sell me had a bad damp problem in the boot plus other bad points which he said was nothing really to be worried about.
If you don't want the hit you sell private. If you PX you are selling to someone as you say that then has to pay VAT on the sale of your car, place a warranty on it (circa £250) and do all those niggly little bits you left with in prep. Then pay for the advertising and premises on which to sell (plus staff if bigger). Finally if there is a repair the warranty won't do (for example if there is not a 100% service history they dodge any engine related claims) you pick up the bill. I am about to pay £1500 for a timing chain on a BMW that was sold 4 months ago.
So there is your explanation. Sell it private and the buyer had none of these concerns so you get a higher price. Sell to a dealer and the £1500/2000 mark up you see on screen with no doubt net to £500-£700 clear profit.
The Diesel note was better
👌👌
Doing great bud, I've bought a mint note on a 63,£2650,with 74k,got a c3 up, similar to your pug, at 1095,just bought a manual (!) ssangyong korando, that pug has probably had an ecu off another car, I've done loads, that will carry the miles from the other car, I'd test it up and say miles are like 5k above last test and 1295 it, maximise everything, that older style engine is usually OK, unlike the later one,I was missing the sd card on my note, got one for 19.99 off e Bay
Nice buys I think I agreed to buy more on holiday than did when here lol
@@ChopsGarage yes bud, just got back with a nice 59 plate crv. I think on that old style engine on your 308 you can rag the tappets down a bit to quieten it, on that tidy it up, test, service, tappets, maybe 1695 over there, 30 days engine and gearbox warranty only, ha, ha.
207 engine don't sound healthy unless them little engines are known
It probably could use a valve adjustment. Sounds about normal for that engine.
They are noisy
