CarVertical does NOT guarantee that the registration plate belongs to the vehicle you have, so you still need to have a full check on the ACTUAL VEHICLE to make sure it is not stolen, on finance or a crash repair or CoPart Special cut and shut. If Car Vertical allowed you to search by VIN it would make this less risky. A car check by AA/RAC/garage is a lot cheaper for what it will cover.
States this on the website if you sell to them… The transaction fee depends on the final price. There is no transaction fee applicable for cars valued below £99.99 (subject to minimum valuation of £50.00) A transaction fee of £49.99 is applicable for vehicles valued at £100.00 to £3,999.99 A transaction fee of £59.99 is applicable for vehicles valued at £4,000.00 to £4,999.99 Where the price is £5,000 or more, the transaction fee is £74.99. So to get paid for a £100 car you have to pay them a £49.99 transactions fee so you only get £50.01..?! 😂
My mate worked for "We buy any car". He left after 2 weeks as he was not prepared to rip people off. He said the website is there to get people to bring their cars then find every excuse pay way under the valuation. He said they are basically scammers. His words not mine.
One thing they used to do was say "you have a couple of stone chips, we can charge you to fix them". What ! Who cares on an old car. They even used to check the expiry date on tyre foam in the boot and say that reduced the price, the same for SATNAV data. They earn money on everything they can save. For me, it worked out very well as I got more than I would for a private sale and only paid 35% of the cost of the car new as it was on a staff scheme, so over the 5 years I had it, I got back just under what I paid. You make your money on cars when you buy them new. The lower the price the better.
@@oceandrive7283and what they said they would first pay was still massively under market value... Likely trade in at a dealer would've paid out alot better...
A friends daughter went to WBAC in craigleith centre Edinburgh , she was quoted £1750 for a 2009 1.5 clio the scammers knocked £1150 off for amongst other things tiny stone chips and a hairline crack in a tail light (200 !!!) and 4 tyres , leaving £600 , then refusing to hand back the keys or V5 the girl was in tears when she phoned dad as the WBAC scammer told her, if she drove away in the car, he would call the police as she was driving a unroadworthy car . Dad told her to tell the man to call an ambulance as he was coming over with some lads from the club , when we got there she was still shaken and the little weasel had closed up and scuttled away . Macklin Motors at Sighthill inspected the car the next day and paid £1825 for it . Their inspector said the wear on the tyres was at 4mm or so and not an issue in the UK , the crack was in the reflector part of the light so not an mot issue and a 8 year old car would be expected to have stone chips here and there. So be warned about these wretched people.
I sold them a clapped out old berlingo years ago they bought it 1 key for ignition, door locks all different and didn't lock all panels dented and scratched some of the employees are OK some are just wanks
Kinda speaks volumes that ... Doesn't it? On 2nd thoughts he might find himself working in branch of WBAC now that he has so much idle time on his hands.
tbh just after covid I had a really good experience with them. Prices skyrocketed and I got out of a 2017 Audi A3 which was bound to lose a lot of value. Sold to WBAC and made a nice profit on it.
@@NijoR873well of course you'll make a profit if prices have skyrocketed and not buying another car. If you did buy another car, then in a skyrocketing market you'd have paid over the odds for it. So, in reality you'd be down, not up 🤷♂️
I used them to sell my parents car, the price they paid was low to be fair but the process was so pleasant and straightforward. If you just want a hassle-free sale and don't mind getting less than you would privately then they're fine.
I've used them in the past, really handy for getting rid of a 'dodgy' car when you can't be bothered putting up with tyre kickers and time wasters. It's not to be used if you're wanting top dollar from a car though, just a quick sale.
The only time you take a car to WeBuyAnycar is after you seriously damage the engine and gearbox. With mechanical faults that don’t show up on the dashboard. I.e the bottom end bearing is on the way out, you’ve blown the head gasket, you’ve wrapped it around a lamppost and “fixed-it” on your front drive way without reporting it to the insurance companies. Yeah… this is why you never buy from WeBuyAnyCar. These all happened.
I did that to them with a 1 series. His test to see if the car was working was to move it back then forwards again. When he moved back there was a rainbow puddle but he didn't go back far enough to see it. They must have sorted it as a couple of weeks later a speeding ticket came through even though it had trade plates on show in the rear window while doing 90 on the M25.
I took my Mercedes A180 to WBAC, it was absolutely spotless 15plate and was quoted £8,000. Once I got there the bloke looked around it and put down ‘general wear and tear’ (the most generic thing ever) and took 2k off the price even though the car was sat on my drive for the past 2 years not being used and had no wear and tear at all since I bought it. They’re an absolute scam, I understand that they have to make money but it’s ridiculous how much they take off their original price
We buy any car are absolute scam artists. My mate wanted to sell his 2015 Audi A3 S-Line, and as a test he took it to we buy any car. The car had 89,000 miles and full service history. There was a scuff on the rear quarter, that was it. They offered him £4387. He later sold the car for £10,995. Keep away from them.
WBAC are owned by British Car Auctions and all the cars they buy-in sell to the trade, so WBAC will always offer under trade prices so stealers have a margin. They make money on other scams such as withholding payment for a number of days unless you pay a fee to release your money in 24 hours.
i worked at bca they dont sell just to the trade they will gladly steal money of the public as well ! the underhand doggy dealings would make you cry ! never ever deal with them, but then again most second hand car dealer stock is bought through bca so its hard to avoid them
I sold my son's 54 plate megane to a scrappy for £300 in 2022. They didn't even need it running and they picked it up. Their main requirements were that it had 1. A battery, 2. A catalyst, 3. alloys. We Buy Any Car are a total rip-off and I believe they also want a £49 "handling fee" which is applied to all cars.
You missed the fact if you want your money without any other fees than the handling fee, you have to wait 5-7 days. If you want the money the next day they charge a £19.99 fee. If you want your money "immediately" after completing the sale they then charge you £29.99.... why? It costs them literally NOTHING to make "Faster payments". Most banks support FP scheme and it's always free of charge.... I can send £1,500 to my parents from one of my bank account's to theirs with a totally different bank and it arrives within 30 seconds. I sold my phone to Mazuma Mobile only a week ago and they sent me £600 for it... via "faster payment". The payment was made on a Friday evening and arrived about 4 hours later. Again, free of charge and no "fee" added to do it. It's almost like they charge extra for something that costs them literally NOTHING more to do and is pretty much the standard method of bank transfers nowadays.. using a faster payment scheme.
My dad sold his 2001 Avensis estate to Car Take Back for £330 around 2021. It looked nice, 120k but uneconomic MOT failure from rust underneath. Guy was super polite as he's probably used to turning a pensioner's pride and joy into a cube. Spent ages chatting and going though paperwork. Had to rag it up the huge double transporter thing. Money in the bank the next day. Tax disc refund (6 months of £290) was welcome too. Later we found another company offered £50 more but I'm sure it wouldn't have gone as well. Gutted he'd also just filled the tank, I'd also replaced the CD player. I was thinking about tapping into the pump - apart from the cost of jerry cans and I'd probably explode 🎉
A few years ago i took an old corsa to them just to be offered £60. £60 for a fully working running car (albeit it was an 04 reg, had a few miles and had some very minor paintwork issues). I couldn't believe it. I told the women i can literally scrap it right now for £125 and she was saying that i should prove the quote from the scrapyard. Anyway, i just drove off and scrapped it for £125. Unbelievable tactics they pull out when you get there..
My mate's car had a proper serious engine problem but managed to get the code reader to keep the engine light off for 10 minutes. The suckers at WBAC fell for it and he walked away with a decent amount of cash for a totalled car.
Yeah we stuffed them with an old merc that had an auto box issue that came to light only when fully warmed up and going about 50mph . took the warning bulb for the gearbox out the cluster and they coughed up 800 for a 250 scrap purchase.
I was also almost fleeced when trading my car black 10 year old Ford focus in some years ago. The car had done 45,000 miles, had a recent MOT with no advisories, was expecting a £200 reduction on the website price of about £1300. Then the inspection took place and the we buy any car employee told me the car had to be in a "showroom condition" and would cost money to make good any scratches or scuffs on the car. He identified over 80 small minor light scratches on the car at £5 deduction/ repair cost for each one reducing the value down by £400. I traded the car in as P/X elsewhere against a used car at £6000 who did non of this silliness getting £1800 as the garage could see it was a decent car and they had no complaints about the paint work. We buy any car company should be called "we fleece any one".
I enquired about my 2010 focus st3, they offered me £7,700. Great! I went down there and they knocked off £250 for this, £250 for that and so on.. I lost out on a grand for really petty things like a stonechip But overall I don't think £6700 was a bad price to agree on when the clutch was slipping, turbo was knackered and the radiator had a small leak too. 😂
Yeah that doesn't sound too bad i thought the point of it was the convenience my mate took his car there dont remember how much he got for it but he didn't complain about not getting enough and it saves you the hassle of dealing with selling it
This is exactly the reason they have to offer prices so low, to account for lemons like this coming in, which happens extremely often. Anyone with half a brain will take their car round to a few garages to try and find the best prices.
@@AlphaEngineer2022 totally agree with you but I didn't and in 2020 I got an offer forward my car 2 then two weeks later and a fresh MOT £600 more then there first offer in the end I went for it as it was £2,000 more than what the Toyota dealership was offering me (full disclosure it's wasn't a lemon 🍋 I just found a hybrid with £5k off for being a pre reg and I didn't want to miss my opportunity and 2020 was a very bad year for the NEW market so I was lucky but I would always check we buy any car in the future because everyone deserves a chance to give a fair price 😜😜😜 🙏🙏
@@AlphaEngineer2022 I'd rather sell to a company that wants to stripe me up than me sell to a private individual and stripe them up for their savings. I went to a few dealers and was honest with them about the issues and some of the offers I got from them was hilarious.
I used them a while back. Got a quote and booked the appontment. It was 5 days after my quote (they only guarantee for 4 days) so when i got there they immediately knocked 1800 off the quote before they had even inspected. If one agrees to an appointment at that price, they should at least honour that price. Utter shower of a company.
It’s a shady company, but then again do you buy a car that you haven’t seen? I’ve been in the car sales for 20 years. 90% of customers expect I can give them a great price for their trade in on the phone without seeing anything, then they show up with a wreck of a car with loads of stuff not mentioned and then im the scammer?
@@Mark-vn7et I've bought a car I didn't "see in person". I live in south east London. It was at a dealership in Durham... 295 miles away. I bought it online and paid a deposit of £200, arranged the finance back in 2016 and it was delivered to me 10 days later once all checks were complete, road license fund paid and I proved I had insured it. Was driven down by a driver from Newcastle to South East London for a flat fee of £99. Took him around 5 hours, poor chap woke up at 3AM, got to the car by 4ish and didn't get to me until gone 9am and then had to get the train all the way back. Car arrived as described with no issues. In 2022 parents bought a car "online" from Cazoo, a BMW X1 for £19,525. 2018 reg with 45,000 miles on it. Went to collect it 10/11 days later and sure enough, as described, all faults mentioned on the listing were pointed out by the "handover" person... honestly the most professional car buying experience we've had. Compared to Big motoring world where I got my 335D from it was world's apart.
They've been dishonest with their evaluations for years - In the early days they used a tactic to keep customers cooped up in their premises whilst the staff were 'Looking over' the vehicle, This could sometimes take up to 2 hours and by the time talk of money started the owner was willing to accept any price they dreamt up just to get out of there.
Definitely possible up North. Down here in the South, not a chance. Used car prices are hugely inflated near London. As an example, a Volvo V50 with 140k is selling for £1500 in Bradford, but there are several with the same spec and more miles for £3k here in Kent. Urgh.
Someone told me that when you arrive at WBAC the guy checking it over it's his job to knock it as much as possible because his wages depends on how much he saves between what you were originally quoted and what you settled for when you're there.
Sadly it’s not true. Wage doesn’t depend on how much they can knock off a vehicle like a regular trader. Simply they follow a process which they have to use
Book value on my Volvo was £2500. Had 11month MOT. I tried wbac and blah blah blah later said could only give me £70. Put up for sale and sold next day for £2500. Absolute rip off merchants. For £70 I would have got more at scrap dealers and not wasted an hour of my time. Car was in great running order and no damage.
Its similar with scrap value on cars. I was scrapping my 2004 XC90 a few months back, some online scrap companies offered me £300 but I decided to shop around a bit which was time consuming but eventually ended up getting somewhere around £600 for it in scrap which I was pleased with.
A couple of yrs ago a friend took his mini automatic to 1 of these places with knackered gearbox & the bloke just went round it looking & ticking boxes on his sheet & gave him a good price for it, they didnt even check how it drove / or use the gearbox !!
At one point WBAC staff were incentivised based on how much they coukd deduct from an online quote and still buy the car. Not sure if that's still the case but was certainly part of their model at some point. What you have to remember now though is that they're owned by BCA (British Car Auctions) and that's where they dispose of their WBAC buys, so they're never going to buy something which they can't make a profit on at auction. Basically they win on both ends - nick the cars cheap from sellers at WBAC, then sell them at auction where thet have no slling fees because they own the auction but can stilll charge buyers a commission.
I was selling a 2017 caddy that was heavily modified a couple of years ago. It only had 32k miles on the clock and full history. The van was worth about £12k-£13k but for a laugh me and a mate put it through we buy any car to see what they’d give me for it. The online valuation was £10k but when we took it down to them to get an in person appraisal they offered £8k because 2 of the service stamps didn’t have the mileage on them and they reckoned it was due a cam belt even though the van was 4 years old with 32k miles and the cam belts aren’t due it’ll 5 years or 80k! They’re rip off merchants. I suppose if you’re in a bind and you just need the car gone for whatever reason then maybe, but otherwise I’d steer well clear of them
Not sure people understand that it’s British Car Auctions just buying metal to feed into the trade. Where they sell it and charge huge dealer fees. So they’re never going to give you the price stated. Plus of course there is the ‘admin charge’ and the ‘faster payment’ charge.
We Buy Any Car are disgusting… we tried using them once and sent them packing after them offering £5,000 less than their online ‘pre-offer’ on a 4 year-old immaculate BMW X1… 🤬👎🏻
We buy any car are up there with inheritance tax....As one of the most scandalous legal scams...... I took a car once in really good condition and they tried knocking over 2500. When asked why i got one of the wipers looked damage and two wheels need a refurb.....The guy then ushered me out side and said go somewhere else mate thats worth thousands more than we are offering.... They have just given my neighbour who doesn't know much about cars 9 grand for a 6 year old Bmw 3 series convertable which retail at around 16 to 18.....
the ones in Belfast tried the same nonsense with me when i took my 4 year old focus to them, price online went from near 9k to around 7 and the car was mint apart from a slight bit of kerbing on one alloy, a couple of stone chips on the front lower bumper and didn't realise the previous owner bought the car as an ex demonstrator from the ford dealer so had two previous owners instead of one. The cowboys give you a higher price to get you and the car on their site then whittle the price down on nonsense hoping the desperate or ones that won't speak up for themselves accept the lowball offer.... ended up trading it in and getting a better price when getting my two year old golf R
I put information in for a fifteen year old Volvo 440 with genuine 34,000 miles. My late mums car, they came back and offered £76. Someone I work with offered me £550 because of the milage and is still driving round in it today
We buy any car are absolute bandits. Tried them once, filled in all details honestly and got offered one and a half grand less on inspection. Total shysters.
My daughter had s 2017 fiesta with a gearbox about to go (common issue with the Ford 6 speed boxes) . Wouldn't even go into 1st gear and they gave her 7.5K for it. No other garage would touch it as a px
Walked away from WBAC after a low price when I turned up with the car, quoted £28K, dropped to £26,250, so went to Cazoo and got what they quoted £27,750. This is the third car I have sold to Cazoo and never got less than the online quote. Just make sure you are honest with your description. Oh, and WBAC wanted me to leave the car with them on the Friday and they would pay me on Monday, WTF ! Cazoo had paid me before I left the site .
loved this video ! would love to see more like this ! that was awful though - imagine if you were desperate for the money - paid £100 for new plugs or a coil pack - aiming to increase the value back up for them them to root you ! back to £230!!! out of order
They’re a waste of time, I’ve had a few cars and they offered me way way lower then anyone on eBay Latest one is a 2009 Audi TT TFSi Turbo S Line in black with cream leather seats. Almost MINT bodywork Barr a few small stone chips at front and one on a door Had the car 18 months, paid £6500 when I bought it with 88k on. Now has 103k. They say £2300 is all they can offer 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Utter joke of a site everytime
They scam vulnerable people who know nothing about cars and they try it on with experienced car people too. I've got 45 years in the motor trade and they tried it on with me too... Con men... 🍻
I recently used them and to be honest I had no problems. I bought my car from dealer after the finance period and sold it to wbac. No hassles and they sorted everything there and then even dealing with finance company for the final payment etc. I was just going to give the car back and look for another but the price to buy the car seemed too good to miss. Put the details into wbac and they doubled the value! Went down and they confirmed the price. Money in account next day. The dealer was Toyota.
In that situation if you have a bit of positive equity in the car and can afford to pay the finance off etc then whatever money you come out with at the end is a bonus. Especially if you’re just going to put a deposit on another car anyway. It’s different if you aren’t in that position though. Like if you’re in a financial state and in need of a quick sale. It doesn’t leave people in that position much change to buy a replacement.
I took my car to the mechanic to fix, the quoted me £3000 for a car whose market value was £3000. He offered £600 to buy it off me I said no thanks, I then listed the non-runner on eBay and someone paid £1700 for it. Lesson, you have more options than you think.
I got quoted £250 on the website !! For my old 2008 seat Leon 2.0tfsi dsg, was 80k miles, full service history, the only imperfection was a micro dent on the boot, I sold it the next day for £3500.
It helps to know this. I have a 2004 Honda Civic Type S for sale. I was thinking about taking it to these people. However. I will not now. It’s got 153k on the clock and a few age related marks. However no lights on the dash. I feel I would be completely ripped off for this.
Why the surprise with WBAC....? It's a company, they make money, anything that makes your life easier, there is a cost, and you pay it, don't like it don't use. If they paid you market value where is the profit for them? I don't undertstand the shock surprise, want to buy or sell a car, do it privately, can't be bothered then pay someone else.
With all due respect on this, you can't just erase the mil codes Infront of them and expect WBAC to just accept the car. Once it does a full drive cycle there's a good chance that code will come back. Interesting video and most likely there is a way to do a profit, probs wiping the mil first before you get there, but don't forget all the time you put into cleaning and sorting the car, 50£ profit is great unless it took you I'd say more than 2 hours to source the tyres, indicators and do the clean.
Mate fair play trying, was an interesting watch. We buy any car are built for desperate, destitute people who just need a buck asap. I have a VR5 VW Bora 165,000 miles, super clean, no dash lights, no damage and 7,6k invested (all major servicing, underselling done, full leather interior retrim, the works. Though I’d see its with, just for why not. They offered me 265 quid 🤷♂️
Benj - the only person keeping money flowing in Widnes! Really good video - nice to see an informed view on grading, and true, it’s not the lads fault, but what a ‘Megane’ show of a business (where ‘Megane’ wasn’t the word beginning with ‘sh..’ I was aiming for)
Reminds me of when i bought a £200 TV and a week later my brother gave me a better one, went to cash converters and they offered me £40 which i politely refused and instead broke the power button and took it back to the place i bought it and got a refund.( i still feel dirty for doing it).
I has similar experience with WBAC when selling my mk2 Focus ST. Was fine until I said I’d had a spray only repair on the bumper (done by Ford themselves). Suddenly he could see the repair, claimed it wasn’t great and then £1500 was knocked off! He had no idea and had walked past it twice, it was impossible to see. Never again
We buy any car is a scam, I had a friend that worked there as a manager and he told me all their tricks and schemes to get the price as low as possible. Even if you went there with a brand new car they will find “problems” with it. Complete scam.
Their business model is all about giving an enticing but realistic online valuation but then do their best to push the value down upon inspection. They do this so that they can have as much of a margin to auction or resell the car or scrap it for parts. Never use these services unless desperate.
That car would sell for $2500 MINUMUM here in the US. Most states have zero MOT type inspections. Where I live you just have to pay a registration fee and you are good.
They also do this odd thing of offering to pay you within 24hours, which is what all bank transfers should be - if you pay extra! If you refuse they don't pay you for a few weeks, by which time they could reduce their offer according to the Terms and Conditions.
A friend had a laguna he was offered £5k but when he got to them the price fell to £3k he also entered all the details online but there was nothing wrong with it.So he traded it into main dealer and got the original price.
I took a old shogun once online offerd me £800 when i got there all seemed really good i got told i had marked the condition as poor in his opinion it was mint i thought so to but didnt want to be knocked for stone chips so he had to recalculate the value so as mint expecting to be walking away with 1k nope value is now £180 first and last experience of wbac
WBAC are jokers tried to sell my Seat Leon I detailed everything down even to the stone chips on the bonnet. The offered me less than a 1/3 of the website offer then told me its because it needs a full respray. Bunch of grifters would never use them.
Tip for anyone selling a car; put baby oil on a cloth and rub it over EVERYTHING plastic (not the steering wheel or gear stick of course!), it will make the plastic look like new. I pretty much think WBAC are crooks and would rather sell my car through other outlets on principle; WBAC would be my last resort
I brought in a van that I had just spent $4k on JUST in repairs, and new things like tires and brakes, had all the reciepts, from a legit shop. It was in great condition. We Buy Any Car offered me $100. Dead serious. The woman said she could only go so high because she had to do repairs to get it "road ready". MF all four tires and brakes and entire exhaust system are less than a month old, with reciepts. Like, I seriously could not believe it.
There’s only one winner Ben and that’s them. They stopped me the other day at Morrisons saying we could buy your car. I said you could if it was for sale but it isn’t. He then went on to say a Maserati wasn’t any good for winter. I replied Its only 400BHP so I think I’ll cope, thanks but no thanks, I’d sooner give it away!!! I think I so you today outside Awesome 👍
No joke I know a fella took his car to we buy any car and it was £500 on the site and when he went down they said £150 and then £70 admin to come off so they would give him £80… he took it to the scrap yard and got £220.. ‘we waste time’ is a better name.. not to mention you get 1000 emails a week after you do a valuation 🤦♂️
Years back I took in a 1.7 CDTI Astra, about 5 years old at the time, and which was in really good condition. We Buy Any Car came nowhere near matching their online quote. The rep even said it was the cleanest car he'd ever seen brought in. There were literally a couple of minor stone chips on the bonnet from motorway driving, and they were knocking hundreds off the offer price for each chip - marking them down as body damage rather than just stone chips. The place is only good if you want to offload your car quickly, without the hassle of selling privately and having time wasters come around.
They don’t get repaired bca picks them up and they go straight on to auction where they do the repairs in house or sold as they are and doesn’t cost a penny and most likely goes for a small price more
Personally I would never use we buy any car, but whilst everyone is moaning and complaining NOBODY is forced to use them or accept their offer. If you're not happy with the offer put a bit of effort in and either sell it yourself, or contact local reputable dealers and get them to offer a price. Th thing is most people who use them moan like hell but are not prepared to make any effort themselves.
WBAC are honestly awful. We had an audi A4 they offered us £8500 online for it. We left with the car after going to see them as they tried to offer us £4850 for it. They tried to say the tyres were all bald (all had over 5mm on all corners), tried to say it needed a new bonnet and bumper because the bonnet had one or 2 small stonechips and the bumper was slightly scuffed UNDERNEATH the front splitter from where someone had driven over a high kerb. Tried to say the wheels needed a refurb when in reality they just needed the brake dust removing from them as I had not long before had them refurbed. Need I go on?
Arnold Clarke all the way in my experience. WBAC said they work their way down from the quote, and that starts with the admin fee. Terrible company imo. Great content though. Really enjoying it!
Do a car vertical on a 16 year old Megane ? Not worth the money. It's hardly likely to be on finance and without the key card I suspect they are not easy to steal and I'm not sure why anyone would want to. There are plenty scabby Meganes around Warrington - I saw a fair few before I bought mine for £350 and it had some MOT left.
It’s just a tool to get you to the shop you no this, if they said £230 you wouldn’t turn up but if you turn up for £530 and told everyone it’s going a high percentage will take it unfortunately fella 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 cracking insight vid
The vast majority of their purchases go the BCA which they also own! So they buy your car then auction it! So the cheaper the better for them obviously, but they actually profit from buying your car then selling it to a trader hammer price plus fees etc. When you could just approach a trader yourself and get a much better price!
Haha brilliant video 😂 it really did help me wondering which we was going to go out for you. Why don’t you contact the previous owner and see if she wants it back now you have fixed it up 😂😂 ✌️❤️
I have a friend with has 2 cars coming out of lease contract , an Audi A3 and a VW Tourag . Both are basically immaculate and both are driven by slow experienced driver round East lothian to either the shops or the golf course . No speed bumps or pot holes here. Both coming up for 4 years old and available January. If the video poster would like to under wright a fair offer then get in touch . Retail ready .

Should have got a quote from the scrapper to compare, probably similar.
We buy any car pay u pennys mate aint worth it
7:27 Not if you clean regularly and don’t allow your dog to get smelly but some people are just grim and unclean
States this on the website if you sell to them…
The transaction fee depends on the final price.
There is no transaction fee applicable for cars valued below £99.99 (subject to minimum valuation of £50.00)
A transaction fee of £49.99 is applicable for vehicles valued at £100.00 to £3,999.99
A transaction fee of £59.99 is applicable for vehicles valued at £4,000.00 to £4,999.99
Where the price is £5,000 or more, the transaction fee is £74.99.
So to get paid for a £100 car you have to pay them a £49.99 transactions fee so you only get £50.01..?! 😂
My mate worked for
"We buy any car". He left after 2 weeks as he was not prepared to rip people off. He said the website is there to get people to bring their cars then find every excuse pay way under the valuation. He said they are basically scammers. His words not mine.
To counter that, I took my uncles old Volvo V40 to them and they paid exactly what they first said.
Do we buy any car test drive the car
@@Bmwe36compactBG😂😂
A friends daughter went to WBAC in craigleith centre Edinburgh , she was quoted £1750 for a 2009 1.5 clio
the scammers knocked £1150 off for amongst other things tiny stone chips and a hairline crack in a tail light (200 !!!) and 4 tyres , leaving £600 , then refusing to hand back the keys or V5 the girl was in tears when she phoned dad as the WBAC scammer told her, if she drove away in the car, he would call the police as she was driving a unroadworthy car .

Philip Schofield was the advertising front man for them until recently so they should be honest , above board and totally trustworthy 😂
Many people don't want to be shafted, so they go elsewhere.
Kinda speaks volumes that ... Doesn't it?
On 2nd thoughts he might find himself working in branch of WBAC now that he has so much idle time on his hands.
So don’t be shocked when they pull your pants down.
It tastes salty 😂
The Megane is too old for Philips taste
DONT EVER USE WE BUY ANY CAR. LET THIS BE A LESSON
tbh just after covid I had a really good experience with them.
@Benjy9845 unfortunately I don't find been ripped off and chipped down pleasant
@@DaleSteel they paid £200 less than the online price in the end, which was acceptable since the car wasn't mint.
Looks like Phil Scofield is still bumming us all on we buy any car 😅
Oh I wonder why we no longer see his adverts? Strange 😂
Just the young boys
He's bumming jay right now as well! We know you've got him Phil
Had a very similar experience with WBAC myself in the past.....daylight robbery they should all be wearing masks as part of their uniform!!! 🤬
Hands up who is sick of these car vertical ads!
It would be interesting to just put it into the BCA auction and see what it makes on the day.
@waynecharlton6388
The trouble is entering car through the auction as a one off the selling fees would be astronomical.
Saying WBAC holds your money if payment is on hold is not accurate at all 😂😂
i worked at bca they dont sell just to the trade they will gladly steal money of the public as well ! the underhand doggy dealings would make you cry ! never ever deal with them, but then again most second hand car dealer stock is bought through bca so its hard to avoid them
I sold my son's 54 plate megane to a scrappy for £300 in 2022. They didn't even need it running and they picked it up. Their main requirements were that it had 1. A battery, 2. A catalyst, 3. alloys. We Buy Any Car are a total rip-off and I believe they also want a £49 "handling fee" which is applied to all cars.
They do yeah that automatically comes off every price online then a further £30 if you want it paid into your bank and value is over 500
@@MartinTthat’s if you want it same day
You missed the fact if you want your money without any other fees than the handling fee, you have to wait 5-7 days.
Put it through an auction or back on market place this could be the start of a car flipping series
My mate's car had a proper serious engine problem but managed to get the code reader to keep the engine light off for 10 minutes.
The suckers at WBAC fell for it and he walked away with a decent amount of cash for a totalled car.
Same
The car dealer it ends up at will probably do the same.
Brilliant
Yeah we stuffed them with an old merc that had an auto box issue that came to light only when fully warmed up and going about 50mph . took the warning bulb for the gearbox out the cluster and they coughed up 800 for a 250 scrap purchase.
Yeh I did that with a light that triggered after three miles , guy only drove it around the carpark at local office lol
I lost out on a grand for really petty things like a stonechip
But overall I don't think £6700 was a bad price to agree on when the clutch was slipping, turbo was knackered and the radiator had a small leak too. 😂
Yeah that doesn't sound too bad i thought the point of it was the convenience my mate took his car there dont remember how much he got for it but he didn't complain about not getting enough and it saves you the hassle of dealing with selling it
Totally agree with you WBAC is a great place to offload Lemons 🍋🍋🍋 🤣🤣🤣

Would be interesting to see if you could have re sold it on Facebook marketplace after you had cleaned it up and fixed the faults and made money
If he was a motor trader and sold it on auto trader the value would’ve been £1595 or £1695 but he would have some additional costs with vat + warranty
I'm sure the person that sold it on FB in the first place did exactly the same but realised WBAC was a non-starter.
This is complete bullshit.
Sadly it’s not true. Wage doesn’t depend on how much they can knock off a vehicle like a regular trader. Simply they follow a process which they have to use
Someone lied to you then mate. This isn't true, not one bit lmao

Plus of course there is the ‘admin charge’ and the ‘faster payment’ charge.

the ones in Belfast tried the same nonsense with me when i took my 4 year old focus to them, price online went from near 9k to around 7 and the car was mint apart from a slight bit of kerbing on one alloy, a couple of stone chips on the front lower bumper and didn't realise the previous owner bought the car as an ex demonstrator from the ford dealer so had two previous owners instead of one.
The cowboys give you a higher price to get you and the car on their site then whittle the price down on nonsense hoping the desperate or ones that won't speak up for themselves accept the lowball offer.... ended up trading it in and getting a better price when getting my two year old golf R

Utter joke of a site everytime
Thought she was cleaning the car? At the start 😂😂😂 clearly didn't do a good job
No she was just taking her crap out the car. A hoover never went near that car ever😂
I'm glad you did this video to reiterate what scandalous tactics WBAC uses.
It helps to know this. I have a 2004 Honda Civic Type S for sale. I was thinking about taking it to these people. However. I will not now. It’s got 153k on the clock and a few age related marks. However no lights on the dash. I feel I would be completely ripped off for this.
You should take it there and when they knock you down smile, and drive away. I did that and they don't like it
It’s just a scrapper to them, but would do someone a good turn.
It's a scrapper for everyone
Why the surprise with WBAC....? It's a company, they make money, anything that makes your life easier, there is a cost, and you pay it, don't like it don't use. If they paid you market value where is the profit for them?
I don't undertstand the shock surprise, want to buy or sell a car, do it privately, can't be bothered then pay someone else.
Had the same experience last week.. Valuation 9700 when visited 8300!! Mint car- Autotrader valuation 10600!!

You don't have to accept their offer though. If you think they're ripping you off, walk away and go for a private sale.
And that dear folks was a one and half grand confession :D =))
We buy any car is a scam, I had a friend that worked there as a manager and he told me all their tricks and schemes to get the price as low as possible. Even if you went there with a brand new car they will find “problems” with it. Complete scam.
They are scammers ripped me off .Stay well away from we buy any car company they need shutting down .
Sometimes I feel like waiting outside a We Buy Any Car location and offering to buying the cars off people for £100/150 more 🤣
Not a bad idea 😂
Their business model is all about giving an enticing but realistic online valuation but then do their best to push the value down upon inspection. They do this so that they can have as much of a margin to auction or resell the car or scrap it for parts. Never use these services unless desperate.
That car would sell for $2500 MINUMUM here in the US. Most states have zero MOT type inspections. Where I live you just have to pay a registration fee and you are good.
Never trust WBAC. £50 for each stone chip "repair". They dont touch them and simply sell at auction. Great idea though Ben and better luck next time
They also do this odd thing of offering to pay you within 24hours, which is what all bank transfers should be - if you pay extra!
If you refuse they don't pay you for a few weeks, by which time they could reduce their offer according to the Terms and Conditions.
Get a rattle can on the rear quarter & wash the interior to remove dog smell and you will still make a profit on private sell..
I know a guy who went to work for them before realising they are literally robbing people, he wouldn't do it and left after a week
I found a can sell the catalytic converter for more than what we buy any car offer.
Wonder how much it would have gotten if you’d done it up a bit more.
£230 🤷
I put a jaguar e type rds in.1961.they offered 6k.prior to inspection.!!!!
I like how people doing such so call “profit” videos never calculate fuel cost, small consumable cost and the most importantly, time cost.
Ahhh yes! Loud that Maserati 🤣👍🏼
Webuyanycar has been pumping the public for years 🕺🏻
They don’t get repaired bca picks them up and they go straight on to auction where they do the repairs in house or sold as they are and doesn’t cost a penny and most likely goes for a small price more
Personally I would never use we buy any car, but whilst everyone is moaning and complaining NOBODY is forced to use them or accept their offer. If you're not happy with the offer put a bit of effort in and either sell it yourself, or contact local reputable dealers and get them to offer a price. Th thing is most people who use them moan like hell but are not prepared to make any effort themselves.
Very useful video. My cars, both older Vauxhalls, come up at virtually scrap value on WBAC. Cosmplete waste of time.
I put one of my car's details in and they offered me £175, for an Escort RS2000 🤣
🤣🤣🤣
We buy any car relies on people who are desperate for money.
Great video and good that youve highlighted the scammers at We buy any car.
Oh, and I reckon you can easily get £500 plus for the car.
one of those part worns was a michelin pilotsport. You put them on the RS Meganes!
You could get it collected for scrap for about £400 simples.
