Amazing! If someone had told me two years ago that I would today be buying pre-owned shirts, jackets, ties and shoes, I would have laughed at them. Now I am a firm advocate of pre-owned attire having re-kitted out my wardrobe with quality labelled items at a tiny fraction of their cost new, and this video proves how easy it is to dress smartly on a shoestring budget. Hi John, glad you enjoyed the video. It is amazing how many fantastic deals can be gained buying pre-owned. I genuinely think that there is no restriction on a person, if they are willing to look at pre-owned, and I would add with eBay and some charity shops, whilst items might appear at first glance to be second hand, some companies have a returns policy that means the item cannot be resold at the new price, so the company will donate the items to charities as a tax right off, so you can get something that is as good as new but a fraction of the original price - hence 2 of the jackets for £3 each👍🙂 Whether you are on a limited budget or not it is always worth serious consideration 👍🙂
Some fabulous finds there Chris and being able to put together three great outfits for under £20 each just goes to show what is available! Doing a little bit of homework and understanding what to look for really pays dividends as you have amply demonstrated! Super job!
Hi there. Glad you enjoyed the video, charity shops or thrift stores can be a little hit or miss, but if you attend them regularly you stand more change of being in the right place at the right time. With a little time and preparation and a little forethought and knowledge, you really can't fail 👍🙂

What a great challenge Chris. My favorite is your first outfit. My experience in the US is that when you go into or near communities in which the richer people live, you find better quality garments. Goodwill has figured it out as well and is selling the best quality on their website. Unfortunately, the descriptions are so poorly (no mesuremts, no material descriptions) that I stick with eBay when I buy second hand online. My last brick and mortar thrift store purchase was 3 white linen pocket squares (brand new in original package) for $1.50.

I agree with your observation about tending to find better quality garments in affluent areas. It's interesting how Goodwill has tapped into this trend by offering higher quality items online, though it's frustrating when the listings lack detailed descriptions. eBay does seem like a more reliable option for second-hand shopping, given its more thorough listings. I have found quite a lot of Charles Tyrwhitt and Brooks Brothers shirts brand new for $5. Most all of my chenos are under $10 as well as a lot of my sports jackets. Cheers Ron

Hi there, glad you enjoyed the video , I find the trick is to pop into store most days and speak to the staff there and talk about what you like or are trying to find, as may shops/stores have more items in the stock room or in storage due to limited floor space🙂
Today I purchased a brand new camel hair and wool blend blazer size 44 which is a perfect size for me. It was less than eight dollars US. It was at Goodwill. If I didn't decide to go in and look around I would not own it but I do!
Hi William, that a great result. It is surprising, how many big companies are now provided stock to charity/thrift stores as part of there right of policies. A lot of companies who get returns from online orders, are now unable to repackage or sell the items as new again. So the write them of as a tax loss and donate them to charity shops. Sometimes you can pick an item up that someone has purchased, put in there wardrobe to wear yet didn't so clear there wardrobe, maybe years later because they never wear the item, or they've put on weight or no longer like the style. Very true if you don't go in, how are you to know what's in there. Well done William👍🙂

Hi Mark, glad you enjoyed the video, the items were brough over time from a number of charity shops within Lowestoft within a few weeks, with the exception of the puppytooth jacket at the end, which I managed to get a couple of years ago from a local charity shop. All prices quoted were genuinely £3 per item or less. I have also gained other items, but they came to a little more in price, so I didn't include them in the examples as the would have made the ensembles more then £20.

Parents lived in Oulton Broad and my first summer job was at Birds Eye packing frozen potatos! Do you hail from that area originally? I have not been back in about 30 years so I guess things may have changed a little!
Hi Mark, I am not a watch specialist, I tend to look at the aesthetics of a watch to fit a particular ensemble, rather than the lapel of it or the type of movement etc. I will have a think about it though, thanks for the video suggestion🙂👍
