      1) Never loot the camp before the battle is over

@@JamesHussey404 It's easy for us to say these things because we see an overhead view of the battle. When you're there on the field, with long distances and landscape features obscuring the view of your enemy, you don't know if the force that's coming from the north has 1/2 of your enemy's forces or 7/8 of them including the heavy cavalry (in which case, had forces been left to guard the bridge, would have resulted in the northern force being overwhelmed most likely). The really important thing is good awareness of territory, good scouting, and good lines of communication with which to relay back scouting reports.

It's worth mentioning that in the building of the Iron Ring to supress the Welsh, Edward embarked on one of the largest building projects of the entire middle ages, and Wales remains the 'castle capital of the world.' Conwy in particular is staggering, as much of the town wall is still intact and has been called one of the best example of preserved high medieval archetecture in Europe. King Edward had the foresight to see that in the future we could do with a bloody good few tourist attractions.

He was travelling away from his main army with a small group of retainers and priests (some historians claim, on the way to a parley) when he was ambushed by english knights. Initially his body wasnt recognised but when the truth was revealed, mortimer sent llywelyn's head to london, where it was one of the first to be mounted on london bridge. If you like historical fiction, you should check out a series written by Sharon Kay Penman about Welsh and English history; the first book is called "Here Be Dragons" and covers the life of Llywelyn Fawr (grandfather of the Llywelyn from this video) and his conflicts with the English Throne. The second book covers Simon de Montfort's life and rebellion (from the videos on the Battle of Lewes and the Battle of Evesham), and the third covers the Llywelyn from this video, called "Llywelyn the Last" since after his death Wales was basically subsumed into England and was no longer independent.
They're a great set of books, and if you're interested in the period I'd definitely recommend checking them out. She also has some other books about the life and reign of Henry II, and two books about Richard the Lionheart during the Third Crusade.

@Chris Wings It You've got it backwards. King John's father was King Henry II, whose father was Geoffrey Plantaganet. He ruled frmo 1199 to 1216, his son Henry III ruled from 1216 to 1272 I believe, and then HIS son (John's Grandson) Edward Longshanks became King when Henry III died.
You're right that Llewllyn Fawr married Joan/Joanna, King John's illegitimate daughter, but that was like 50 years before Longshanks was born.
