I saw the “Beat” in 1981 at Alpine Valley in Wisconsin. I was 18 heading off to College in Central Illinois a few weeks after. Incredible concert, BOW WOW WOW opened for them. I turned on so many people to The English Beat in College. I’ m 58 and still Love them and the whole SKA movement. Stay Young at Heart!!
RIP RANKING ROGER , YOU'RE DEEPLY MISSED. So glad we saw you with the Beat all these last years, and even the last show here in town, your music made us, the old school ones, so happy. But you knew that..It still does make me happy.. dancing and singing in me kitchen, a tear comes when i listen to my fav. songs and think of you Roger ..It sucks that the best ones have to go to soon, to early, too young...
Strange notes DVD brought me here. Its crazy cause its taken me like 8 to 10 years to leave this comment. Song was stuck in my head until I recently rewatched the DVD.
This is one of my favorite beat song my over favorites are click click, mirror in the bathroom, twist and crawl, stand down Margaret and whine and grine
In America, we have Paul Collins' beat who were established around the same time as the beat, also as the beat. Sounds confusing. They even toured together. US LPs are marked with The English Beat, I'm sure in part to avoid confusion. I have seen the English Beat many times, and played with Paul Collins' beat. Paul and Dave are both extremely awesome guys, and it is great to see them both still playing and touring regularly.
I know that, but people in America and other countries know them as the English Beat, so i was making it easier for them to find these tunes! deekomodska.

The English Beat were the best "ska" band in the history of rock!
lyonslaforet best ska band specials
The Clash and Specials were better SKA bands.....I put the English Beat at #3
