Woh. I just cleaned my yellowish rings and all of them turned to silver right away. This is the best hack I've ever tried, easy breezy. Thank you so much for sharing.
I was doing some cleaning with bleach and forgot to take my rings off and they tarnished really bad,I was giving up already trying to bring my silver rings back to life lol I tried all the other methods in different videos and they did not work! Until I found this video thank you so much!
Bleach with your hands ?.. girl you wanna get lung cancer ?.. please don’t ever use bleach use baking soda for everything in your house and not hear chemical
This video reminded how I knew about using baking soda to clean silver. That paste.... Granted mine was a tad different, different metal. I refurbish and etch kitchen knives as a hobby. There is polish I use, baking soda, water, and wood ash. Would not suggest that combo for silver. Also research it before mixing... It is very acidic. Baking Soda and Water create lye, which "attacks" the sulfate... Aka tarnish. See chemistry is cool. Also vingar wash for rust. No need for harsh chemicals.
Is bicarbonate of soda too abrasive to buff out smaller than hairline scratches on alliminium alloy or silver. I need something gentle and only slightly abrasive. The gentler the better. Thanks!
I don't know about aluminum, but soda won't buff out scratches in silver. You should try a rouge polishing cloth or a Sunshine polishing cloth. They both have a buffing/polishing compound in them.
I can’t remember if I left a comment but thank you so much about using baking soda to help clean silver jewelry. It really makes a lot of sense because I use baking soda to help whiten my teeth once again thank you so much. Where is your studio? I’ve noticed in some videos that you are in a studio with students learning???? Autumn Michelle
Hi Autumn, I am in Oregon. I had a retail store for 15 years and you saw others that worked there, or my co-owner, Debbie. I no longer have that store, but only a small private studio and no room for students. I am working on some new videos to put out later this year. Thank goodness for all the UA-cam content that really can teach so much to so many! Keep on creating! Mary Wong
Drying the jewelry or not won't usually hurt anything. But broad surfaces may dry with water spots or earrings or chains may drip on you. Water behind a gemstone will not let the facets reflect light as well. Anything with chord, string or organic material should be laid flat to completely dry so that no stretching occurs.
We usually use polishing cloths that are treated with polishing compounds, mechanical means like polishing wheels or ionic cleaning. The Ionic cleaning is a solution that gets a small electrical charge that removes tarnish. The unit we use is called a "SpeedBrite" and is very effective. There are many other suggestions on the internet that use foil, baking soda, ammonia and more.
If you have an open fire or a stove, gather some ashes, sieve them through a very fine sieve , get a moist cotton wool , dab in the ashes and rub your silver. Rinse. Make sure you don't have any overlooked bigger pieces amongst the ash particles. You could place them in a mortal and grind them with the pestle. It's well worth the trouble if you prepare a whole jar it as it'll last you for years. 🤗
A neighbor gave me an antique cross that’s about 70 years old. It’s very tarnished and she’s not sure if it’s sterling silver, nor is there a stamp stating so, so I want to be careful cleaning it. I’m going to try what you said. Thank you!
Well it's still TARNISHED... Yeah it shined em up but they still dark... Silver without tarnish is whiteish.. but at least it gives it a good Polish... If you wanna remove tarnish from silver use water baking soda and aluminum and a stove..
studio well I hope she understand that profeshinals in the industry will be pissed when seeing this video. you never share tips with people on how to clean jewelry. when the word gets out to to many people on what you share then everyone will start doing it at home and it will hurt business for people who do it to make a living. I can bet that's what you have 6 thumbs down for is from jewelries seeing this

What kind of water are you using there is a boiling water or cold water
just warm or cold works well
Warm water with liquid soap and baking soda is the best cleaning

If its 925 silver ,, I idid clean with aluminium, baking soda n hot water it change d into yellowish, colour it will come back into white color
Got my chain lookin niiice! Add in some dawn dish soap and works wonders 💯
There is an easier way. line a bowel with foil(shiny side up) add boiling water and a tablespoon of backing soda, let sit a few minutes and rinse.

Alright you nutt
Use toothpaste and extra soft toothbrush for an amazing effect!
I can barely see any difference
I think it’s sterling silver . Not real silver 😂😂😂
@@dilmahimahi Sterling is real silver
