@@eliannysdiary342 hey lose the Tude! no one needs to read hatred from you. Teacher or no Teacher I think @hunter W was implying, is that No Teacher truly teaches if their on the Spectrum. I cried like a baby! A TRUE INSPIRATION! I pray he remembers that moment forever! God Bless him! George W!!! Just awesome he took 5 mins and spoke about Jmac!! 💪🏻🇺🇸👊🏻
What a hero he is ..... Basketball had a Dream Team when NBA all stars assembled. But that day audience witnessed Dream Play, he cashed THE MOMENT. Love from India 🇮🇳
The coolest part of this story is what isn't told. You can see it in the footage if you're watching, though. The other team and their cheerleaders. They were cheering just as loudly for him. That's sportsmanship. That's powerful.
Exactly, why wasn't he playing all season? Did none ever give him a tryout, or a single chance in 4 years cleaning up everyone's swill? That's the real story here, he must have played around with the guys after practice, or did they not give him the time of day, to busy for the kid? Pretty sad if the whole 4 yrs were really a total missed opportunity for him. I mean So happy he finally was recognized for his amazing talent, but isn't that what a good couch does ? Looks and finds talent in places least expected? This child was RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIS FACE. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE HE NEVER PICKED UP A BALL IN FRONT OF THE TEAM. SOMEONE KNEW HE WAS GREAT. THEY JUST DIDN'T LET HIM PLAY AROUND THEM . I DON'T HET IT.
Great follow up to a great story. But I wish there was more direct attention placed on making sure the lesson of his game passes through to autistic kids to be given a tryout early on rather than assuming they cannot play. I'd much rather see kids like this play authentically, even if poorly, than purely as tokens. While clearly some wont be able to do anything other than a staged event, JMac clearly shows that many probably can participate just fine even if only as a back-up or occasional minutes off the bench.
OMG, 6 3-point shots. WHOA!!! That is the stuff that dreams are made of. I bet if we saw the coach he was off camera crying, “Why didn’t I put him in all season????” Autistic kids are so often underestimated because people can’t get past the social difficulties they have. But when you do, there is always a reward waiting.
He wasn't actually very good. He actually missed his first 2 shots. The first one was even an airball. Like he said, he just "caught fire" and got a magically lucky ending to his high school career.
still brings tears to my eyes everytime i watch this story, and bless his coach for putting a lot of faith to Jason and letting him play in the last 4 minutes of that game. Epic 🥲❤❤❤

Legendary story
I’m glad they retired his jersey
I thought he was supposed to be short. He looks so tall here
He is older
My nephew called it a "growth spur".
I recall my 20th high school reunion and was amazed at how many guys who’d been shorter than me were now taller. They kept growing after high school!
An underappreciated aspect to his legend - that headshape was made to go bald, my word!

Steve Hartman got emotional as well.
God is great.

Stop with those onions please
Imagine that kid, being the water boy, practicing on the side, taking notes, and then once given his change, he smokes it!!! Hot as a pistol!!!
