Time to get the big weapon and make a return as 2H Frost DK in Cataclysm! In this expansion Frost sadly is still not a meta spec and even more vulnerable than before. At least it kept its high on demand burst right out of the gate! Thanks to the talent "Might of the Frozen Wastes" 2H Frost DK Spec can now compete with Dual Wield Frost DK Spec. Allthough, if i was to max Frost PvP and had all Weapons available i would probly still opt towards 1H Frost (Threat of Thassarian), but the gap between the 2 Specs definitely closed and both are playable and quite fun now, with their unique pros and cons.
I would just pick the strongest weapons available to me at the moment and ensure the highest amount of stats for Necrotic Strike absorb and Howling Blast AP scaling.

keep in mind Frost has alot of flex points (for example Deathgrip CD vs Blade Barrier 3/3, Desecration Sub-Unholy Route vs Hand of Doom Sub-Blood Route, Obliterate Talent/Glyph vs. 0/3 Oblit Talent and Icy Touch Glyph are all viable paths and have their own advantages in certain situations, matchups and brackets.
I have been playing alot of Unholy and Frost Dk (my favorite spec) over the past years and am currently playing Classic alot.

Hey man, mainly target calling in RBGs as Frost; but had a question on ability priority; when do I Obliterate / use Necrotic/ or use Frost Strike - what's the basic dps output for single target, duo target or 3+ target? and is it worth spending a GCD and waiting for runes to spread plagues to more people as frost?
For Single Target: Spam Necrotic on Unholy and Death Runes and Howling Blast on Frost Runes (if there is any enemy healing abilities, but thats the case most of the time), Frost Strike on KM Proc to burst or after Runes are spent. Diseases for Frost are way less important compared to WotLK, but before you start bursting, its also good to put them on target with Outbreak or Plague Strike. If some pala spam dispell them, just fk it tho, its not a high prio anymore and Frost Feaver will come automatically from HB.
Obliterate is just more of an Execute Ability or to maybe make people panic and pop fast CDs, it can have a high burst (especially if glyphed/talented and with KM), but also comes at a high cost (2 Runes and consuming the KM proc). So if there is enemy healing involved you want to prio Necro, except for the said Execute (if you can make someone bubble/bop or kill him in next globals or got enough Necros stacked already).
For duo target its hard to say, i would probly use most of the Death Runes on Howling Blast instead of Necros, but it could be worth to focus and take out one target still, so depends.
For 3+ target, just spam Howling Blast, thats one of the main reasons why Frost DK is so good in RBG anyway.
And i wouldnt worry about spreading Blood Plague too much (unless u somehow running the -10% meele dmg on Blood Plague talent from sub blood tree). When multiple targets are stacked you could spread both diseases for some extra dot dmg i guess, if you think the fight is going to last long enough to be worth. But honestly, you should be fine with just Howling Blast spam on aoe and Frost Feaver will get spread automatically with the Glyph.

Allmost every class/spec has healing now so still alot of necro but yes, i use obliterate with killing machine as an execute burst sometimes or through ams etc.
Was running the talent here, cause with 2H spec had points to spare and just wanted maximum burst for fun. With 1H Frost would run way less points into it or none. I feel like its not mandatory due to the high value Necrotic Strike and Howling Blast already bringing in PvP, but in some situations it can come in handy.

Hey, ty. Its a custom Weakaura. The addon OmniBar can also do exactly the same thing, just takes some more tweaking to make it look like this.

What would be the rotation of the one-handed DK Frost PVP?
There is no real rotation in pvp, it just depends on the situation.
For Frost/Death Runes Prio Howling Blast from range or if you need magic dmg/aoe.
For Unholy Runes/Death Runes Prio Necrotic Strike if you need physical dmg and healing absorb single target pressure against healing instead of burst.
If you need big burst use killing machine Frost Strike as magic dmg or Obliterate with killing maschine (rarer, 2 runes cost, mostly versus Cloth/Leather or AMS and as an execute) as physical dmg.
Also normal Frost Strike for burst and before you overcap 130 runic power, but if you are not bursting, prioritize rune usage instead.
Plague Strike for an extra dot if you are not bursting and building dmg (also there is outbreak which can do same with saving a rune, Diseases are not that important prio anymore for Frost and Frost Feaver will come automatically from Howling Blast/Chains).
Chains if you need slow more than dmg, if the Howling Blast/Chill blains/other mate slow is not enough or if you need fast runic power (for ibf for example, pvp hands give extra rp so its fast way to get rp with only one rune).
Save one Death Rune for Strangulate if you can get a good silence oportunity on the enemy to kill/force big CDs. Deathcoil only if u have spare Runic Power and can not reach target after Howling Blast(or about to overcap big on rp). I think that was p much all.
TLDR burst prio: KM Frost Strike > Howling Blast/Necrotic Strike > Frost Strike (also not overcap 130 rp too much)> Deathcoil if high RP and out of range for Frost Strike.
HB x 4 then Necro x2 for damage dealers. Necro x 4 then HB x 2 against heals

Could you tell me what addon are you using that shows enemy cds like Bubble on the right side of character and debuffs on the left Could you share profile pls?
i use an omnibar cd and loss of control weakaura and on the right thats just a pretty standard gladdy profile, debuffs is just normal debuffs, i moved them a bit with leatrix plus
not sure which addons you ment exactly but thats everything i use in total for enemy cds and debuffs
At 4:26 you can see anti magic shield from enemy dk and bubble of enemy pala on the right side of character model.
Every big cd that enemy use i noticed is displayed next to them and they also take priority it seems. Thanks for answering bro!

This was the spec i was running, but keep in mind it was still more a "for fun" build; not sure about obliterate, i think its barely worth overall with 2H.
It was funny to annihilate other dks through AMS with it tho xd
There is def other viable routes for sure (one being desecration for example).
If i was to tryhard and had all full bis weapons available, i would probly still go dual wield, 100% dmg loss on dodge/parry without an offhand can be really annoying at times.
1h vs 2h are definitely more close than in Wrath overall, cause of Might of Frozen Waste talent (probly best to go with whatever strongest weapon you got atm and then pick respective spec).
Then again, if i rly want to tryhard id just use unholy spec xd
So can also just pick what feels more fun to you personally, 1H or 2H (the on screen numbers feel more satisfying with 2H ofc, but be warned about the dodge/parry thing as i said)

well its ok with a pala and in zug triple DPS, but unholy is still way more solid overall sadly, superior spec
dk dps specs in pvp dying like flies now is hurting frost even more, cause its even less tanky and also the hungering cold nerf (meanwhile mages are better at everything and still got db ring insta cc xD)
what remains still fun about frost is huge burst right out of the gate and its also seems to do a bit better into some of the meele cleaves (not all)

E: and also there is alot of flex points in talents, up to you if you want to play with obliterate glyph/talent or icy touch or deathcoil glyph instead, its just preference, same for some other talents like unholy command

ye i sometimes do, but its not a big deal tbh
diseases dont increase frost dk dmg by 30 % + anymore like in wrath, even frost feaver is not that important anymore to keep up at all cost
i use it when preparing dmg/burst before necro spam or on rogue through cloak to get the dot

there is still alot of flex points in the second row, endless winter, scent of blood vs unholy command or even desecration build etc.
obliterate build is also possible with dual wield after moving these flex points to annihilation, just depends if you want a bit more burst on execute or a more steady build with more utility

@@DymarCurusil 2,6 speed mace or sword as human or 2,6 speed axe as orc
mace has a bit higher max dmg and lower min dmg compared to sword, but the diff is so small it does not rly matter, i chose maces for dual wield on human
I mean try rune of cinderglacer its so much better
hm, i don't like it, its PPM is rly bad, idk if that a bug in classic or supposed to be like that but it allmost never procs when needed the most and even then its only 2x stacks, looks better on paper than it actually is imo
meanwhile fallen crusader allmost perma uptime with high proc chance and +15% str profiting every single ability and also necros, i think its better.
Some small free selfhealing too, even tho thats not the main reason.
For dual wield i would use razorice together with fc

its same for 2H and 1H Frost, except that u only need 2% Hit for Cap with 1H talent

usually below 1 minute or max 2 mins, but depends on rate also, at 2,3-2.4 mmr or higher it might be 5 mins + or even longer
but it depends on the day of the week and server time as well ofc
