This show was SO much better than X-Factor!! I remember the whole family watchin' this show, then Catchphrase and then Michael Barrymore's 'My kind of people'. They were the good ol' days! Ha
@Pugna I hear ya, but, it’s because of shows like X-Factor that shows like this no longer exist! I remember as a kid thinking it was some kind of magic when they walk through the door and walk straight back out in full make up! Haha but wow, I made this comment 7 years ago!! 😂😂
Me and my dad were literally just discussing this 😁 Our Saturday nights in. My sis and me didn't want to go out, we looked forward to spending the evening in with the rents. Our night started with Big Break, then Generation Game, onto Noel's House Party and finished with Stars in their Eyes or Casualty. We have literally just decided to do a rerun of the classics over Christmas. Have a makeshift "Saturday night in" watching tele....those were the days. None of this Love Island or Kardashian rubbish. ☺️☺️
@@gemmahancy Ah Noels house party!! Forgot about that! Classic! Yeah, I’ve never watched love island or kardashians and have no desire too! Certainly don’t make ‘em like they used to!
Fair play for getting up on national TV (this show was massive back in the day). Something about 99.9% of the haters in the comment section wouldn't have the balls to do. Rock on!
I love how people are commenting as if this was a professional singing competition. For goodness sake, this is a show where you can go on and pretend to be your favorite artist and have some fun. I think this guy does a pretty decent job and i give him credit for even getting up there to begin with so please just stop all the hate, it is not worth it in the end. Hating on people for having fun and doing this shows what kind of human you are. Some of these people are actually pretty good.
I used to remember Stars In Their Eyes back in the 90s - such happy and innocent times. The show itself reflects that and much more of a nice and kind version of X Factor and BGT.
Sadie Marchant I wouldn't say I sang great, could certainly do better when I wasn't nervous! Some people on here seem to have been brought up in the X Factor culture thinking everyone on UA-cam should be world class! Thanks for the positive comments x
Someone was asking why i didn't do something off Be Here Now...answer...because it was recorded in November 1996 and aired in May 1997 before the release of Be Here Now. 😀
What is it with the haters on here? This was 20 years ago a very different time before X factor, pop idol and UA-cam. This show was a bit cheesy sure but that was the fun of it. You sound good too dude 👍🏻.
What haters??? I have just scrolled down the comments and they are all positive. I was going to leave a negative one but I don't think I will bother now.
I actually think it's good. He doesn't have Liam's tone or power but he still has a decent singing voice. Just needed rasp. I thought he had good presence.
Not too bad...see my "get over it haters" post above. I suppose it opened the doors to get into bands and get solo work. Back then I really thought I could sing...I was wrong and on Stars I was cut in half with nerves!
I was inside once and I tried to arrange a inter prison singing comp called " Bars in their eyes" or X con factor... Neither of them sold unfortunately!
Absolutely class mate! Didn't realise this was your own channel, was going to say you got everything spot on, even down to the little shuffle between lines, haha! Just wished there was a *tiny* bit more power behind the voice. Had no idea they chose the song for you though. Can't imagine Wonderwall winning the votes of many non-Oasis fans, or indeed even Oasis fans either for that matter. Then again I can't really speak for 1997. I would have wanted to do Live Forever all day long. As you were.
ted mckenna thanks mate. I was very nervous performing in front of cameras and a 300 strong audience back then so that affected me. I've been in bands since 98 as a result of my Stars appearance, play bass in a very good covers band now and cover songs on acoustic guitar including Oasis. Have a look on my channel!
respect man ill take a look...i thought youd b doing something musical, its where ye belong ..all the best mick have a great xmas etc....ill have a listen n im glad ye still mad 4 it mate
@maggie96ful hmmm obviously a panel of audition judges thought otherwise, chosen as one of 60 contestants out of 35000 applicants...but what would I know...
Good job its actually harder than you think to immitate Liam on this song especially.. as a tribute to Oasis I find Wonderwall and Some Might Say are the least easiest.
From when you were selected how long was it before you went to the studios. I might be doing this meself in the future and would like to know how long I'd have to practice me lines... Plus can you have a drink in ya dressing room as I reckon is need a drink before I went on stage ha
Oh months! You've weeks to get your lines right from when they make your backing track, which is usually a heavily edited version of the original to bring it down to about 2 and a half minutes per song. So is Stars In Their Eyes coming back in some form? As I recall there were no restrictions on alcohol so perhaps you could take a drink in the dressing room. They'd probably advise against it though to avoid your throat feeling dry!
So you'd already left the job but they made you go back to record that opening segment? It looked so awkward 😅 Hope you're doing well, I thought you were pretty good!
I would never have anything negative to say about this video; are you (this question is to the contestant in and uploader of this video) familiar with the user ‘Copied Right’ (whose name’s ‘Graeme Corner’)? If so, do you talk to him?
Boy do i miss these days,, happiest times ever :-).wish i could go back, family were alive , people cared more, just on the whole - better.
Hi mate. We all miss them days. I have faith that you will meet your family again one day. God bless.
This show was SO much better than X-Factor!! I remember the whole family watchin' this show, then Catchphrase and then Michael Barrymore's 'My kind of people'. They were the good ol' days! Ha
Strike it lucky, big break, blind date, bullseye and surprise surprise. Etc etc...

Everyone thought they were Liam Gallagher in 1996/1997😆 There was probably a queue of people lining up to do this
I love how people are commenting as if this was a professional singing competition. For goodness sake, this is a show where you can go on and pretend to be your favorite artist and have some fun. Ppl are total assholes. The guy did good.
thats what it was about ey
No you have to sound like the artist you are impersonating, he's very average I've heard well better than that.
British TV was really good at these old game shows. Also around this time was Crystal Maze, Robot Wars and Gladiators. Brilliant!
When tell was half decent used to live waiting for red dwarf on a Friday
I much prefer this to X Factor. The audience always give the person a chance and encourage them- not boo them and tear them down...
Yeah and you have to have a sob story to get on cringe factor too
I used to remember Stars In Their Eyes back in the 90s - such happy and innocent times. The show itself reflects that and much more of a nice and kind version of X Factor and BGT.
One of the greatest songs of all time. This guy got the look almost perfect. Good performance too.
Surely I can't be the only one who really likes it! Personally I think he sang really well

That sounds exactly like him to be fair

yea I thought he did a good job. he needed to slant more I thought but he looks like him and has a good voice.
I didn't get to choose the song. Also. Filmed 26 years ago. (edited 2022)
Let that sink in.
how long did it take to get transformed into liam Gallagher, just wondered, big stars in their eyes fan
Liam Rands about 90 mins 👍
thank you
Mick Dean Braithwaite not a bad effert lad lol
Fucking good on you kidda.Nice performance 👍👌👍
Please bring this back on our tvs much needed in 2023 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Well done mate... Hats off! I remember watching this at the time... 🤟🏻
I remember watching this in 97! Bet hes way better when not nervous. Not bad man.
why are all the liam bummers slagging his performance? he's actually quite good!
Someone was asking why i didn't do something off Be Here Now...answer...because it was recorded in November 1996 and aired in May 1997 before the release of Be Here Now. 😀
mick u was good man am a manc so fuck these clowns on here r kid..
Mick Dean Braithwaite I thought this was class mate. Hope all is well now. You looked cool as fuck before the makeover!
I came on to watch and have a laugh! Defo made me smile cos it’s quite decent. Nice one arr kid
That was bloody brilliant. A good liam impression. I miss stars in their eyes.
Ahhh stars in their eyes... My 90 and 00s childhood in New Zealand.
Biblical
I'm from US and have never heard of this show. Neat you did this. Kudos to you. Spendid job!
When he first walks out the smoke he looks just like him!
well done Mick, biggest tune of that time and you did it justice
Loved the intros and insight into what the performer did for a living. Nice work 👍
I remember seeing this live!! I didn't think he was too bad good effort
I love Oasis, and I like your impression - voice and look. Nice one
Excellent job Mick, I thought you did great! Classic Liam look too!
Thought you were referring to the hairspray for a second there

In 2012 I'd still pick Liam Gallagher for stars in their eyes.
The interview before the reveal is insane. I watched it on loop. Very very funny hahaha
I actually think it's good. He doesn't have Liam's tone or power but he still has a decent singing voice. Just needed rasp. I thought he had good presence.
This video was epic man
He's amazing 😊
Pretty (Green) damn good impression of Liam G !! Well done mate. Peace. Rx
He's holding back too much... like, what defined Liam's voice is that he always gave his heart n soul.
Shut the fuck up dickhead
@@guillocrease 🤣🤣🤣
Probably nerves! He needed a few beers and some sniff to get his confidence up. Liam would’ve done.
Great performance and he really looked the spot of him
Bet Liam and probably Noel more absolutely loved this mick pal lol
You can never top bill decker as George Michael.
The bass on this is great.
It's an amazing song 😱
I liked it
When Michael Kelly cuddles Olivia Newton John at the end and sighs “God...” it’s just a weeeeee bit pervy.
Who did Michael Kelly pretend to be?
sarah wardle Jimmy Savile I imagine
fairy2009 Jimmy savile wasn’t a singer.
Mathew Kelly not Michael Kelly !
Fair play to the lad for giving it a go, wonder how life ever turned out for him.

Top banana Mick! And anybody who has the balls to get up and sing gets full credit from me. Nice work. As you were 😉
Gold From Stone aww Carl😘
Its pretty good really , fair play. Bring this show back, it was good craic, but only with pre 00s artists.
Anybody singing this or evening listening to this, in this day and age. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
February 28th 00:45 2022 #Wonderwall
Great job
Christ, I'd have been 5 when this aired...I wish it was still there 90s 🥺
Very good. He even got the nasal sound down! Looks like him too.
i like it
I wish this had still included the contestant giving 3 clues about who they were going to be before the reveal like they used to when I was a kid
Loved this show
Well done mick 🍻
Such a fun show
Those saying he doesn’t sound like him etc he kind of does, but it’s a bloody hard song to sing as a matter of fact.
Then don't do it

Well done for getting up and doing it fella !! Take no notice !
Bring this back instead of the Saturday night shit we get now !
Nice one dude
well you sounded and looked like him. Well done.
Looks nothing like and sounds nothing like him.
I loved this show so much. I looked up this performance and it wasn't until now I saw how bad he was parred by that mic.
he still kicked as though
They need to bring this back 💯
People doing Harry styles, Adele and nikki minaj. No thanks.
It takes balls to get up there and do that. Even if its not very good. Kudos to him!!
Even if it's not very good😂😂😂
@@edmundpower1250 Could you do it??
Very good :)
the beginning of the video is just like The Office
Well done ✨👍🏼
He was brilliant at Liam G.❤
Would love to do this lol
Spot on
They should bring this back and make it a proper competition. Like rounds and finals and shit. At least they're admitting it's a karaoke contest.

wow.
Should have done more of the mannerisms and body movements
Some of that Liam swagger
Would've been epic if he had a dwarf playing guitar with him.
What a cool show idea, basically 90s tiktok but long. Maybe if we kep the show goin we wouldn't need spyware to give us this exact entertainment.
Good on him for having a go. It is not like singing Karaoke when you are pissed up in your local pub. it must make you nervous.
⚡🎸❤️❤️
Seeing as you didn't get to choose the song wonderwall on that day..given the chance again...which track would you have most liked to sing?
MaffyMoose Roll With It I guess 😎
