Dear Professor Rudnicka! I absolutely adore your videos! You have the best trichology and dermatology channel on UA-cam! Dear doctor, could you please tell me if you are accepting new patients? If yes, how can I book a consultation with you? I’m dealing with androgenic alopecia and would be really grateful to have an amazing doctor like you look into my case. Thanks a lot!
So interesting and well explained! I started 2.5 3 months and all was right, just last days noticed, in some part of the day, like a chest pression discomfort but: no tachicard, no edema, no heart rate. I went to a cardiologist and I took: ECG, Stress Test and echocardiogram and all was ok, so strange: also noticed, a day, the chest pain was increasing or decreasing moving body to a specific side: left/right: Any hint or suggestion? Thank you
*@profLidiaRudnicka* *1. The study indicates that the efficacy is comparable. What I was saying was that topical hair/scalp treatments have many variables that are difficult to control. For example, the same dose will have a different biological effect in a person with long hair compared to a shaved scalp, because of a different penetration to the scalp. 2. Minoxidil decreases the blood pressure by an average of ~3 mmHg. That is considered biologically non-relevant. There is no proof whatsoever for your conclusion. If this would be correct, then every person with hypertension would have bradycardia and every treatment for hypertension would be toxic. 3. Mezotherapy = intradermal injections. Thus, the injected substance will finally also have a systemic effect. My conclusion is that we should not inject substances that were not investigated in clinical trials and are formally approved. This being said, yes, I believe that in some diseases (e.g. androgenetic alopecia) a direct approach via intradermal injections could be beneficial. However, we should not be misled by the concept that for mezotherapy we do not need to have any systemic safety concerns.
Dear Professor Rudnika, Thank you for the video. I was looking for the answer about stop using the minoxidil, but couldn't find the answer in your video. I am considering to take 0.25 mg of minoxidil for hair loss due to stress. But I would like to know how challenge it would be if I want to stop it after a while?
Hi dr, thanks for the great video. If you experience hypertrichosis, if you then stop taking the oral minoxidil, should the hypertrichosis be fully reversed too? Thanks again.
Dear Professor... I want to start Oral Minoxidil. What do you think would be a safe dose to start with? Also is it safe to be taken with Finasteride? Please help me out with the dosage. I have used topical finsteride before and it didnt have any side effects as such but I want to switch to oral for better results.
Dear professor, I hope you read my question❤. recently I went to a hairclinic and they gave me dutasteride 0,15 mg per day, because of androgentic alopecia.I am a female , 59. I am a bit lost, could not find recearch about dutasteride for woman in my age in this dosing and if I am to old now. Is it worth trying and will I have hairshedding. I read and hear terrible things. Or is oral minoxidil better, greetings from the Netherlands. Al confused dutchie.

I started at 2.5mg daily 3 weeks ago but have been reading that 1.25mg might have been enough. Dred shed has started. Should I wean down or keep it at 2.5? Thanks

The dose should be decided by your dermatologists. It depends on many Medical factors
Doctor have you ever seen a case where oral minoxidil is less effective for a patient. And they lost results they gained from topical after switching?
I have seen a variety of different situations. It is not possible to draw any conclusions from a particular scenario

Yes, the dose needs to be individually adjusted
