Minoxidil was used for blood pressure on those people who have thick blood, it has side effect on those who have normal blood, it will thin your blood and your heart rate also increase thus have higher chance of heart attack.
@javaidnasir6633 Everything you take has a chance for side effects. Talk to your doctor before taking anything. I had side effects for two days, and it stopped after that mox and fin is two different drugs and a lot of the same side effects I been on both
I was on topical finasteride for 5 years and went oral finasteride last 8 months but started getting symptoms. I’m going back on topical finasteride 0.50mg
Thanks for your honest report Matt. Much appreciated.
Your filming tipping your head down to see what the crown area looks like prompted me to do the same, and I'm glad I did. I look way thinner in the back half of the top of my head compared to the front, which made me realize I'm not applying my topical dutasteride/minoxidil treatment evenly back there. So thanks for indirectly helping me optimize my treatment protocol.
Appreciate the honest reporting.
You are the best. Aside from you being brutally honest and not biased by advertising or money or whatever, you also set a realistic view for most people. Everyone only sees the hyped up Reddit posts of hyper responders, then try it out and see little (some positive, some negative) difference like you. Because of people like you the world gets a little better.

I was balding a lot worst than you. It took me 7 years of oral minoxidil and finasteride to get the hair I wanted and it is still getting better. My hair is better now at 50 than it was at 20. Stick with it and don't even think about it. The fuzz will turn into think hair if you just keep with it. The down side is you will grow hair everywhere else. Invest in a hope laser hair remover for all the unwanted hair.

Start with r/tressless and you might find a way to create a stack that works for your specific goals and budget. Mine is dutasteride 0.5mg (3x/week) + topical minoxidil + tretinoin 0.05% + microneedling at 1.5mm (2x/month) + stemoxydine.
There are many, many more elements you could use to compose your own stack. All it takes, is doing one's research and not being too afraid 😉

So I have to assume the only reason you didn't experiment with cutting the dosage of Oral Min in half, is because you believe in only sticking the 'the least possible efficacious dose'? (2:51). I would have tried half -- because applying topical Min is a huge pain, and popping a pill is just so much easier. Do you know if you are a SULTA1 (sulfotransferase) responder? That's how minoxidil works topically I've heard -- the sulfotransferase is required for proper conversion of the prodrug minoxidil to the active form in the hair shaft. Some people have inactive sulfotransferase enzymes in the hair shafts (likely due to genetic mutations in SULTA1) so typical topical minoxidil doesn't work for them. I'm not sure about the oral form - I've heard that oral minoxidil bypasses the sulfotransferase step somehow.
Thank you for your transparency Matt. This is very important for the hairloss community.
Edit : HairCafe was right all along .
@aerialpink that's awesome ! Glad you are doing well on oral minoxidil.
HairCafe doesn't say nobody can take oral minoxidil. He just says that the side effects profil of OM is not good and not worth the risk.
But of course some people (just like yourself) react well to OM without getting bad side effects.
Edit : HairCafe don't recommend OM. That's it.
Topical minoxidil is a much safer option. But if you are doing well on OM : stay on it . Just make sure you visit your cardiologist regularly.

Sir i am being honest , I started oral minoxidil just after a 2 week after you posted the video mentioning that you have started oral minxidil , reason for starting oral minoxidil was because topical never helped me in regrowing even when I used it along with finasteride for more than 1+ years.
So my regime after including oral minox was like
Oral minxodil 2.5 mg everyday
Oral finasteride everyday
Minxodil 5% every other day
Hair oil every other day
Shampoo my hair on the oiling day .
After 10 months I must say I have recovered almost 20℅ of my hair, my condition is better than ever , I can go out without caps , hair got thicker and fuller
@@joaop002 not yet but I don't recommend oral minoxidil and also I am now reducing the dosage slowly , now taking only trice a week
I have been taking oral fenestride 1mg 3 times a week and I barely get any hair fall. THat is the only thing I plan to take and not get used to something else because then If i decide to quit than there might be hair loss. Keeping up with one medicine and one schedule is much easier.
I want to know how you feel about hims 3% finasteride 6% minoxidil topical spray
So do you think the side affects from oral minoxidil will go even when using topical minoxidil? Also oral finesteride once a week, is that ok too or only when using topical finesteride aswell, thank you.
Oral fin once a week is unlikely to do anything without a topical as well. The lowest dose of fin that I've heard of is 3 mg/week. I gave that a try but found I needed to go higher.
I got pretty crazy heart palpitations after 10months of topical minoxidil, I’ve stopped 5 days and it got better then I’ve started again with half the dose hopping I can keep my results. I’m also on 0,005 topical finasteride. I was maybe using too much minoxidil, hope it goes better in the next months cause it’s pretty scary when your heart starts going crazy
What strength min? My first use was 10% which made me dizzy and made my heart race sometimes, I cut the dose to half and built up gradually and never had a problem since. I now vary between 5%-10% topical minoxidil with and without PG and have zero issues

Very generous of you to be the "Lab Rat" and get to the bottom of this temptation. I value your input - Most Grateful ! Your next assignment (should you choose to accept: Castor Oil !) Yeah - I get it - strange - but I began using it on a laser mark (skin repair) on the bridge of my nose (suppose to reduce the appearance of scars) but also pushed the oil up to the nose/forehead area where I also had some scars (a childhood fall) and noticed an increase in eyebrow hair growth as a result. I also began to take daily, about a half teaspoon orally and noticed within a week a difference in scalp hair texture (positive). Its been about three months - don't know if I've had any scalp hair growth, but time will tell. (no otherwise side effects) Its curious.

i had the same side effects, chest pain on the 6-7 month mark of using topical minoxidil.
hi matt. i’ve noticed my hair thins lifting weights. have you ever had a year off lifting to thicken hair
Lifting weights positively affects testosterone production. The side of that is increased DHT levels also. DHT will negatively affect your hair.
Personal experience for me was disappointing, whether it's minoxidil or finasteride in topical form. I switched from oral to topical finasteride due to side effects for six months, and within just two months, my crown started balding noticeably. Now I'm back on oral, but at 0.5mg instead of 1mg, and my hair loss has halted.
This time, I've also introduced oral minoxidil at 1.25mg for around 2 months, and my hair seems to be improving. Still, I know I'll need to wait at least 4 months for concrete results.
Oral Minoxidil works well, but my plan is to use the oral version to kickstart hair growth with finasteride for a year, then rely on finasteride to maintain and eliminate oral minoxidil.
Where do you get less than 1mg fin?

Topical min can’t breach the blood barrier
If its right in the middle of your chest you should work out your back muscles and stretch your chest
I've had this too don't let ppl gaslight you. It took me about a year off of topical minoxidil to feel mostly back to normal. I still once in a while get some chest pain in that left ribcage where the heart is located, I notice it usually when I'm getting sick with a cold or run down. @@Jbrimbelibap DHT is androgenic hence the androgen blockers. It's not for the test, it's for the dht
@@Drunk3nMonk3y72 I see that you refuse to listen. Test also causes hair loss too a much lesser extent no matter what your opinion is though. And RU blocks both DHT and Testosterone by binding to them
I had big results from topical Minoxidil many years ago... I'm a super responder (same is true for Finasteride). I lost a lot of ground when I gave it up. Recently, I've been trying to grow my mustache longer, and finding that I never seem to be able to reach the same length that I had some years ago... Eventually I realized that it was around that time that I was on min... I didn't realize it at the time, but min helped my beard growth too. So why did I give up min? Well, it was a pain in the ass... and having a wet hair look makes your hair look thin, which defeats the whole purpose of using the medication. So yeah, I'm very curious about oral min... but also cautious because I've had panic attacks and strange sensations in my heart in the past. Been checked multiple times but they never find anything serious. If I were to hazard a guess, I think I'm most likely to die of some undiagnosed heart condition down the road.
Get loop recorder fitted in your chest might save your life hope this helps 🙏
I have been a good responder for topical minoxidil over years. However, I stopped a while ago because it changes my hair texture and makes it dry like crazy. Then, Used oral minoxidil started by 0.625 mg, then 1.25 mg, 2.5 mg and finally 5 mg daily. Oral minoxidil never helped my scalp hair, it was never even near the topical minoxidil results. On oral minoxidil (1 year) and hair density decreased and my scalp is visible. I cannot add propecia or dutasteride due to past sexual side effects, but I do use nutrafol men supplement (saw palmetto). I lost confidence in Oral minoxidil, and I think its overrated. Any thoughts?
Did you go back to topical?
Somebody know where i can order oral minoxidil in europe ?
