I’ve been catching them shallow My self all bout 5-7 foot just off the channel leading into the back creeks water temperature 50-53 degrees. Small swim bait slow rolled or spinnerbait/chatterbait. And flipping a stick bait around structure I feel or visible
Great video and as always great explaination! I really hope that this style of fishing doesn't go away in the big derby's. It is soo much more interesting to watch and learn, rather than watching you guys looking down and fishing in open water. I realize that it is fun and exciting to do it, but it's really getting old and boring to watch, in my opinion. Thanks for doing some "old school" stuff and letting us ride along! lol. Have a great 2024 season!! Oh...stay off the ice in your driveway!!
Thanks for the video. I love your videos because I relate to your content. I like to think I approach bass fishing real similar to you. I think I was seven when my dad taught me how to do a Texas rig. 41 years ago. Wow... Thanks again for taking the time to share the things you've mastered over the years.
Man after watching the MLF guys catch fish the way they did on my home lake it blew my mind just how many fish were out in the middle of nowhere roaming under bait... I ended up staying until yesterday and ran a few creeks livescoping fish but I freakin smashed them doing something similar to this just on the deeper end of the lake. I really can't wait to see what yall do because it's setting up to be a phenomenal tournament to watch.
Thanx Jason. If I hadn't already sold my kids for a spotlock trolling motor they would be on the block for forward facing sonar. I hope you know I'm kidding. This time of year, having the confidence to make repeated cast to a area you know the bass are has to be huge. Cold water jigging has caught me alot of bass but I have probably left 100s without knowing it. I'm saving up!
I know its just an opinion and if you're not doing it your behind but forward facing sonar, to me, is ruining bass fishing. More so when it comes to the viewer watching bass tournaments on tv or live. Again, just my opinion. Its not entertaining to watch guys ride around staring at their electronics. I understand if you wantvto make money at bass fishing you gotta do it. Im fortunate to live and fish in tidal rivers were it is not as productive and you can compete by old school fishing and using your head/knowledge instead of your electronics.
You're so right because before FFS, they still had the same camera angle, and you could only see the back of their head but if you looked closely you could tell they were looking at the bank and not the screen. That was so much more interesting. That's why I no longer watch bass fishing on T.V. they ruined everything.
What’s ruining bass fishing is every Tom, Dick, and Harry now has a boat. Pressure is beyond ridiculous on our lakes now. Population is also higher. Dems keep recruiting voters. What do we do on top of all the increased pressure? We hold 500-800 boat tournaments on the same lake. Genius. If we could stop this organized dick measuring contest and make fishing about what it should be (you and nature and you fishing because you enjoy it) then we would all be better off as would our lakes and fish populations.
@@KatManDew931I don't have a boat. I'm a pond, creek, and pond guy. The boat electronic guys are a joke. They're the Garth Brooks of bass fishing. These bass fishing tournaments are just for advertisement and marketing.
Love these videos where you talk thru the thought process of what you see, bait fish tendencies, cover and structure etc… very informative. Thanks
I’m digging these on the water videos. In depth and screen shares is great. Good luck this season!
Thanks for the pointers JASON, very good!!!

Can you do a video on your hydrowave and what sounds and when you like to use?

South end.
Is there anything better than flipping a jig or a spinner bait shallow year round? Regardless of season
Good video! What size jig do u prefer in this situation?
3/8 oz
