Thanks for the video, I like the way you "tutorial" for us, I actually used your mud flap video yesterday to install my really armor flaps, keep em coming, your great
Hi Adam, it's a good bit of kit. I've had mine for just over a year and it's surprising how much it catches. Empty every 1200 mls or so. Apparently Mountune are developing a breather plate assembly for the fiesta ST similar to the one they've done for the focus rs.
Hi James, you do yes but you can buy a separate draining kit that attaches and means you can drain more easily without removing the light as far as I know. Cheers!
Ive installed mine a few weeks ago and have since put the car in storage for winter ( i live in canada with temps reaching -40C at times), i will likely remove it for winter storage as a precaution, but, winter driving seems to bring up some conflicts in optinion, mainly on frozen bronze filters which could cause damage to the crankcase on start up. Im thinking of removing it during the winter in the future when i plan on driving the car during the winter. Is this fine, or am i over reacting and its fine to keep it i the winter and i should just empty it out more often. Does Mishimot have any reccomendations? I have a 2017 fiesta st.
Was the catch can quite difficult to slot into the circular shape of the top bracket after the hoses are slotted in coz there isn't much movement. Also are these red hoses safe t be touching the engine block?
Yea it was a bit of a pain but once it is in place then it never needs to come out again so it is worth the hassle. Yea they are fine to be touching, I checked after 1k of driving and there is no ill-effects - they look as good as day 1
I know Mishimoto are known for their quality products but i think if only they could redesign the bracket because there is alot of space unused behind the headlight.
Hello, yea I had it on for a good number of months and it was good in the sense that if defo caught a bunch of dirty oil. The only issue I had was that the plastic barb connectors that screw into the can both came loose under vibration over time so after maybe 3 months i could hear this weird hissing noise and found that it was basically blowing oily air out. I would suggest using something to lock the threads and/or go to a hardware store and buy better barb connectors
They do seem to come pretty tight from factory. I can't remember if i just man handled it in mid air or if i used a vice initially - carefully secure the top (so upside down) in a vice with something either side to protect it. Then u can use both hands and with all ur might give it a sudden jolt. It will come loose eventually :)
Daft questions, I'm looking at installing one of these and just wondering if you had to inform your insurance and does it void your ford warranty. Other than that great vids mate I will be using this to install mine 👍
fandaz 11 It is up to you if you want to inform your insurer. Since would say it is good practice to inform them of anything you do. They shouldn't have issue with it as it is not a performance mod as such, it is a means of protecting your engine. For warranty, I am still within warranty and had my car in with Ford 2 days ago and they had no issue with it. Generally speaking, you would only have warranty issues if you did something that then caused an issue you tried to do a warranty claim for
Hello Sheep, in 2017 I had over 13052 hours of watch time. I do UA-cam for reasons other than ad revenue but thanks for being concerned about me and the new ad rules!

Cool stuff Paul, I haven't checked mine yet but will soon :)
Good vid mate , fitted mine today . Thanks for the help 👍🏼
Good stuff Jamie, cheers! :D
I wonder why u need such an oil catch can. I don't know alot about cars, but getting an ST Ultimate in a few months
To empty do you have to remove the headlight each time ?
Yes but it doesn't done that often so it isn't toooo much of a pain
Do you have to take the light assembly out to drain the catch can?
Hi James, you do yes but you can buy a separate draining kit that attaches and means you can drain more easily without removing the light as far as I know. Cheers!
is there a difference in the bracket install between the 1.6L and the 1.0L ? thxs
I would guess them to be the same
I have a 1.0 wasn't sure if they fit. Anyone know?
Did those silicone hoses come with the kit? The kit I ordered came with standard rubber hoses and can not stand the cheap look
When ordering, I was able to select a hose colour yea :)
How many miles do you do befor emptying the can
This will be covered in my next video David ;)

We’re did u get your red caps from ?
Sico developments, they are all boomba racing :)
Is it really necessary to put the oil catch can?
it depends how you define necessary
@@AdamRainey If I don't put it on, will my car break down? I've seen videos that put the oil catch in another location
@@juliomartins6570 it won't break down no, if you drive hard a lot of the time then it will increase the life of the motor though
@@AdamRainey thanks
Thanks
Thanks to you too :)

Hi Adam, what does this actually do? Does it improve performance or just effectively?
Hi Charlie, it is not a performance upgrade but more of a way of protecting the engine from carbon build up :)
Did you have this installed for a long time? Any issues ?

That look really hard to do mate
It wasn't too bad, just a couple of annoying bits!
Mines just arrived although its been put on so tight I can't unscrew it?! Did you have any issues Adam?

Thanks for your quick response!! I'll see if I can free it in the vice!! Keep the vids coming :)
Thanks again Adam - I can confirm the vice worked a treat. Crazy how tight it arrived!! Feels a quality bit of kit :)
No probs, will do :D
Sweet! Yea you are golden now for your install! It catches oil and looks good so I like it :D

Adam Rainey okay thanks for the advice. I currently have the mp215 upgrade like yourself and love the car. Keep up the vids
Adam do you have 4K hours of watch time in the last twelve months?

IDGAF about your revenue this was a selfish question. It's been cool watching you grow though
Keep it up
