My father served under him in RR in Kashmir. And my father always narrates me about incidents of counter insurgency operations. When Gen. GD Bakshi was on site along with the QRT, very few Maj. generals would be on site of counter insurgency operation along with his junior officers and jawans. But he used to be there. This fills the Junior officers and jawans with a different pride.

We shouldn’t forget Sam Manekshaw when we talk about 1971, he is the most underrated general in the history of world just too good in terms of military strategy and leadership. He could see through the enemy at so many level it’s unbelievable. It’s sad he is never discussed in the worlds greatest generals in the world he’s easily next to napoleon or Julius ceaser.

The concluding statement by Ranveer was on point. The opinions and perspectives of the armed forces need to be given utmost priority, especially when the General himself opens puts it out that national security today is at its toughest. If that means a big bulk of focus and money goes to equipping the defence, it's obvious that other aspects within the country will be given lesser importance, and we have to deal with that as responsible citizens. And not constantly criticize as to why everything around us is not as good as it can be.
