Many people say money doesn't buy happiness but it certainly provides flexibility, security and options in life. Having options is the best part knowing you can move to another country without worrying about the basic necessities. As for your kids experience, I'm glad I lived my first 13 years in the Philippines before my family moved to Canada as my family situation in the Philippines was way better so I knew I didn't have to settle in Canada for the rest of my life.
That’s right with the powerful dollar either from retirement or savings can go along way in the Phils no question about it. The money gives us freedom to do what makes us happy. Why senior citizens in spite of their age still play the lottery? Because they hope and pray when lucky enough money can provide them freedom in their old age at the same time able to extend the help to family members especially Ang Mga Apos. ❤️👍

Indeed. Your resources & health will give you options in life. Many lack the creativity to visualize what is possible. For us, we enjoy Canada and plan on being snowbirds and Philippines is one of the countries that we will live a few months out of the year. We have been visiting various countries too to evaluate them as possible destinations. If one is living well enough in higher cost locations in Canada (Toronto, Vancouver), most parts of the world are lower costs compared to these two cities. Anyhow, good luck on your move back. Which city will you be moving back to?
Thank you for your thoughtful comment! It's true-having the resources and health to explore different options is such a blessing. I love that you plan on being snowbirds and spending part of the year in the Philippines. It’s great that you're exploring different countries and possibilities for your lifestyle. I agree, if you’re able to manage the cost of living in cities like Toronto or Vancouver, it opens up many other affordable options globally. We’re excited for this next chapter. Hi Salee goodluck to your gettingback to Canada after 5 years in the Philippines. I really admire you that you had brought your childrens to expose them in our Filipino cultures they are fortunate indeed because many Fil-Foreighners childrens whose parents has a filipino roots that they did not even know that they have that heritage and only to discover later on their own that they have Filipino relatives. It is a case of lost identity.
Thank you so much for your kind words and well wishes! It was truly important to me and my husband that our children experience and connect with their Filipino heritage while we're here. I believe it's a gift to be able to understand and appreciate both cultures. It's sad to hear that some Fil-foreigners only discover their roots later in life, but I hope more parents will prioritize keeping that connection alive. Wishing you all the best as well! 🙏🤗
I’ve lived in the Ph for straight 4 yrs just when Covid started in 2020 I left for U. S. My experience exposed me to the real system in Ph. I have been following your channel for a few months now. Thank you po for sharing your experiences. From being a nurse to an entrepreneur. I have a few questions, because I am on the same boat as you. I just acquired my Naturalized citizenship, and in the process of reacquiring my Filipino citizenship. I know you mentioned before that your business model is in an online space? So you will be location independent. What industry are you focusing on? Product or service? Saang province and city po kayo dito sa Canada? How do you find the quality of education for your kids in the said province and city? As I am planning to have kids in a year or two, I hear some stories and news about what is happening in schools. And the values they teach the next generation.
If you retired and you work so hard for your retirement , yes there’s so many options available to escape the winter from Canada by spending Winter in the warm country. Retirees who spending winter in a warm place like south of the boarder are known to be called snowbirds . They stayed in North American during warm season and head south of the boarder during cold season. In terms of having dual citizenship , its a personal choice , mostly of Filipinos I know who has dual citizens have properties abroad in their country of origin. Otherwise some would rather have one passport , again it’s a choice .
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! You're absolutely right-it's amazing how retirees can enjoy the best of both worlds by spending winters in warmer places. 'Snowbirds' definitely have the right idea! And yes, having dual citizenship opens up so many options and is such a personal decision. It's great that people can choose what works best for them based on their lifestyle and priorities. Appreciate your insight! 🙏❤️
It's good and I like. You're right, having dual citizenship have a lot of options to settle down. I'm a Retired and I decide to stay in the USA . I can enjoy my life with my grandkids and I love a simple life nothing more, because less stress longer life. Thank You
for me i cannot stay/retire sa Pinas. vacay lang for 2-3 weeks at a time. even my sons cant stand the discomfort and safety. although they treasures all good pinoy cultures and practicing it. we just stay here sa US/Canada as we are dual of both countries. good luck po sa inyo.
Hello, I watched your youtube, and inspired by your thoughts. If there is a chance, why don't you offer your experience as a consultant? I would like to do business in PH and need someone who can advise me 😊 this is just a comment from Japan
@@salee_talks thanks for quick response. I have learn about PH business which is focusing on SME. I have stayed in PH for almost 7 years, then during the Covid time, I came up the idea of business to build. But I still don't know how to go inside into it. There are many UA-camr talking about business, their success, but they don't talk about their mistake. So people like me need some advise whether the business idea is really meeting the points or not. 😊
Nice. This is the power of dual citizenship. Citizens of both countries, giving us the freedom to decide where we want to live at different points in our lives!
There are disadvantages being a dual citizenship. One is if you get in trouble while in another country, US will not help you. Not sure about the Philippine government helping you but Pinas doesn't have much clout as it is an undeveloped country.
@esparda07: Absolutely! Dual citizenship truly offers such freedom and flexibility in life. It’s empowering to have the option to live in different countries at different stages of life, based on what suits us best at the time. @JunRoss-pp3mv: You bring up a valid point. There are definitely pros and cons to dual citizenship. It’s important to be aware of the potential limitations of each country’s government when it comes to support abroad. Balancing the benefits and being informed about the potential challenges is key to making the most of it.
@@JunRoss-pp3mv There are 70,000 Americans in HK with PR. They are still paying US taxes which means they have all the privileges of a US citizen so I don't get what you said about not getting protection from the US Gov't if an American is living in a foreign country. If an American gets in trouble they can easily contact the US Embassy for help. As for Canadians, the Gov't in the past five decades have sent planes to fly Canadians out of a troubled country even though they are non-resident Canadians and don't pay taxes. Heck, the Canadian Gov't is helping Ukraine by welcoming their refugees and housing them and they're not even residents.
I suggest don’t do dual if you’re a Canadian. I’ll explain. If you’re a Canadian stay with your bread and butter environment - that’s Canada. If you can afford vacay every year and do this - for male bring your Canadian passport and either of the two: old or expired Phils passport or your birth certificate and show it to Phils custom officer. As a former Filipino or naturalized citizen, the Phils will allow you to stay up to a year. If you want to prolong your stay after a year just go to the nearest custom office before your paper expires and renew it. One year is the best to explore the Phils, island hopping, the cuisine, weather cuz no winter, family bonding, or take a long break sleeping, eating, exercising paying yourself first from being burnt out in Canada. Now if you’re female and married bring the following with you: Canadian passport, your old or expired Phils passport or birth certificate, and last but not the least - your marriage certificate and you can do the same thing. Planning to buy property in the Phils? Ok If you’ve enough savings or enough retirement money, you can own a condo, a townhouse, and the like, but not detached house. Something high rise you can do that. Vacay there every year if you can afford and make that your base in the Phils. The mgmt company within the bldg. can manage your condo by leasing it out as an executive suite on your behalf if you’re back Canada.❤️👍
@@FarmProduceTV Yup. Balikbayans get one year stay. I was also able to get a Senior card which is great. I get priority at line ups at the Airport and banks and I essentially get a 32% discount (No VAT) on local flights, services, Grab rides and restaurants. Best of all Seniors get free movies on certain days in the area they applied for the Senior card.
God bless on your decision to go back to Canada. I just wondered why you seem to say in this video you need financial freedom. But your channel description says you have earned financial freedom, thats why you moved back to the Philippines. It seems to me that you're going back to Canada to make more money, which means you ran out of money living in the Philippines. Please elaborate on your reasons in moving back to canada.
Thank you for your thoughtful comment and concern! To clarify, our decision to go back to Canada isn’t solely about money. One of the main reasons is that our kids want to go to school in Canada, and we believe they’ve had enough time to experience and appreciate the culture here in the Philippines. Since we're dual citizens, we’re fortunate to be able to move freely between both countries as needed. It’s all about doing what’s best for the family at this time. I hope that clears things up! Thanks again for your support, and God bless!

Checking your real capacity "means" is the best way to slap reality to yourself, and personally that would be good to avoid being delusional and keep self on ground. Changing strategy like changing the vibes of telling narrative is a good option in content creation, testing the water, who knows ? the best thing is we tried :D Yehey and enjoyed.
The best decision in your life. Better life for the family & better opportunity for your children, You're still young, still have time to save & be financially independent when you retire. There will be times when your children will ask for help on finances or your grandkids ask for something & you can give it without hesitation. It's a nice feeling. Go on nice vacations in different part of the world. Time really flies fast. Good luck to you & wish you the best.
Thank you so much for your encouraging words, Jun! 🙏 You're absolutely right-it's such a blessing to be able to provide for your family and build a future of financial independence. Mahirap tlaga dito sa Pilipinas. Kailangan malakas loob mo para makahanap ng magandang trabaho or maging successful sa business mo. So happy with ur decision. Good u have options.
Good for u Salee.
Business is not for everyone. Each has his own calling. Marami din naman ngsusucceed being an employee especially in abroad like nurses and caregivers. Better chances umangat ang buhay nila kesa dito sa pinas na pahirapan talaga.
If u have a good standing in canada then by all means go back to canada esp now that they are strict with temporary low income workers. You have the opportunity so grab it, its for your kids' future too. Like what they say "u cannot earn that big here in the Phils in a short time." What my other relatives and friends do is they work work work in foreign countries then come home in phils for fun fun fun. But they all plan to retire here in their beloved country❤❤
It has become difficult to live in the Philippines if you are used to a better life in another country. Inflation has destroyed the purchasing power of the Peso (as well as other currencies around the world) With that, the urge and the need for people to move to countries like Canada for better opportunities and stability.
If you can afford it come back to Canada, when your kids are Grown up and can live on their own come back with your husband and just visit your kids in Canada. This is not hard its all about affordability and happyness,
@@fym216 What’s that got to do with anything? People can protest, that is not illegal. But when people say too many immigrants when most likely, they themselves are immigrants, that’s a different kind of entitlement. Canada is a country built by immigrants. Where have you been?

My pleasure 🌸…..Cheers 🥂
I like to have more options as well. Welcome back to Canada soon.
thank you 🙏👍
It's good and I like. You're right, having dual citizenship have a lot of options to settle down. I'm a Retired and I decide to stay in the USA . I can enjoy my life with my grandkids and I love a simple life nothing more, because less stress longer life. Thank You
Welcome back to Canada! It seems like a wonderful life for your family! Try Toronto, Canada, the financial center of the country!
for me i cannot stay/retire sa Pinas. vacay lang for 2-3 weeks at a time. even my sons cant stand the discomfort and safety. although they treasures all good pinoy cultures and practicing it. we just stay here sa US/Canada as we are dual of both countries. good luck po sa inyo.
i’m going home to Philippines after 5 years in canada :) pero I’ll be back pa rin
Maam saleh pabalato po ng african lovebirds? Wala na po mag aalaga..good luck sa pag balik nio sa canada

Saan ang province mo sa Pinas Ms Salee?
I like the rawness ng video
thank you ☺️🙏🥰
Hello, I watched your youtube, and inspired by your thoughts. If there is a chance, why don't you offer your experience as a consultant? I would like to do business in PH and need someone who can advise me 😊 this is just a comment from Japan
hello and thank you for watching. what kind of advise do you need? can you tell me what you need to know, maybe I can do a video about it. 👍
@esparda07:
Absolutely! Dual citizenship truly offers such freedom and flexibility in life. It’s empowering to have the option to live in different countries at different stages of life, based on what suits us best at the time.
@JunRoss-pp3mv:
You bring up a valid point.
Best of all Seniors get free movies on certain days in the area they applied for the Senior card.
madali ba magpa dual citizen? how long it takes?
I improve mopa ang ganitong content ..kumbaga sharing your thought & experiences since your childhood ..yong tipong may mai inspire sa mga pinag daanan mo..i kwento mo in tagalog kc most of your viewers at pinoy kaya kelangan tagalog ang content mo or taglish
Salamat sa suggestion mo! I agree, sharing more of my personal experiences since childhood could inspire others, and I’m definitely working on improving my content in that direction. Tama ka rin, marami sa viewers ko ay Pinoy, so I’ll make sure to create more content in Tagalog or Taglish para mas relatable at madaling maintindihan. Appreciate your feedback and support!
We have our choices....
I am happy to retire in my beloved country.... Philippines.
THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME !!!
thanks for sharing 🙏👍
Bago lang po ako may I ask ano po source of income nyo while you were here?
The best decision in your life. Better life for the family & better opportunity for your children, You're still young, still have time to save & be financially independent when you retire. There will be times when your children will ask for help on finances or your grandkids ask for something & you can give it without hesitation. It's a nice feeling. Go on nice vacations in different part of the world. Time really flies fast. Good luck to you & wish you the best.
Thank you so much for your encouraging words, Jun! 🙏 You're absolutely right-it's such a blessing to be able to provide for your family and build a future of financial independence. I truly appreciate your support and advice. Time does fly, so we should definitely enjoy life and take those nice vacations! Wishing you all the best as well. Take care and stay blessed! 🌟🙏
@@salee_talks Consult a financial adviser when you return to Canada & tell them your goal. He/She will guide you on what & how to achieve your goal. Good luck.

Mahirap tlaga dito sa Pilipinas. Kailangan malakas loob mo para makahanap ng magandang trabaho or maging successful sa business mo. So happy with ur decision. Good u have options.
It's okay to fail here in Phil's. at least you have option like working in Canada 💪
Good for u Salee.
Profession wise lang medyo sinayang mo time and career mo dito sa Phils.
Why not the U.S.?
Some of my retired friends in Vancouver have second homes in Phoenix. They love it there and they find Americans are more open and friendly.
ewan ko ba allergic ang mga pinoy sa mga vlogger na english ang salita pero laging nanonood naman ng hollywood movies na walang reklamo😅😂
If you can afford it come back to Canada, when your kids are Grown up and can live on their own come back with your husband and just visit your kids in Canada. This is not hard its all about affordability and happyness,
There’s lots of changes in Canada too.. too much immigrants , protests everywhere ..welcome back .. that’s good being a dual citizen
Too much immigrants? Explain.
@@Zeppelin512it’s true there’s a lot of protest rally in the country who wants to get PR! Where are you?
@@fym216 What’s that got to do with anything? People can protest, that is not illegal. But when people say too many immigrants when most likely, they themselves are immigrants, that’s a different kind of entitlement. Canada is a country built by immigrants. Where have you been?
Canada 's' economy has gotten worse from what I learned. Just prepare yourselves. Have you been keeping abreast with Canada news?
Salute ako sayo love mo pa din culture sa pinas unlike ung mga nakasama kong pinoy na kahit kami kami lng nag uusap slang n slang lol kahit may mga edad n sila nakarating just saying😀
thanks! 🤗
Akala ko b tagalog lol
😂😂 i tried! mahirap pala lol 😅 I'll just stick to what I'm comfortable with 👍
