    I have found using a clothespin helps to hold it down to let it dry after you have put pressure on the whole piece and then after you're done doing that you can use double stick tape to adhere it to whatever you are applying it to instead of glue or mod podge

    I find it easier to just glue the stone on the image let it dry and trim around the stone.

    Amazon and maybe some of the craft stores and office supply stores have magnetic photo paper that can go through your printer. Great for these!

    I really like how your stones turned out. They look so professional. I have some old magazines that I saved and can't wait to try this. The Dollar Store is a great place for supplies. Happy crafting!

    Just wanted to let you know you have me hooked. I have made rings and neclaces with both small and large stones. The magnets sell like hot cakes. One thing I did learn. I get my stones from the Dollar Store and order my rings,bails and chains in bulk from Amazon and eBay. Saves so much money. Happy crafting.

      I'm glad it was helpful. I'm not sure exactly what you are asking. When the glue or Mod Podge dries, it should be completely clear.

    I used E6000 glue on mine but you want to use a glue that will stick to glass. I got flat glass marbles at Dollar Tree. They usually have the large and small. Lillie

    I just wanted to make a comment. I am creating tack sheets that will have around 100 pictures on each sheet, that would go great with these stones. It would save scanning through so many magizines. . Im not sure if im calling these sheets the right name, but each sheet will be a different theme such as puppies & kittens wild animals Color textures or graphic backgrounds etc i will start selling them in a month or so

    Of all the different ideas I've seen so far, this is my favorite:) That picture of your parents, where the magnet shows thru... would it help to paint the whole back black? Didn't get a good look at it, but you said it was cuz it was so light or transparent? Anyways thanx, I like these. Happy crafting:)

    Great, I can use my resin to make clear cabachons and follow up using old catalouges to make magnets , brooches, pendants using mod podge. Thank You! You have given me several ideas
    Can two cabachon halfs that are round be used to make a marble , pendant , earrings etc?

    • @meghanscoggins4394
      @meghanscoggins4394 5 років тому

      Rachel V Kleypas-Sparrow, as great as idea as that is, it’s cheaper to buy the glass than to make your own with resin. I think I just bought 100 for $10.00 on Amazon. I can’t make that many with a 32 oz resin pack. Plus, no curing time.

    When I first saw the still shot of the finished product I thought they were drawer knobs. Do you think of the stone and the drawer knob blank are about the same size and a good, strong glue were used that they could be made into knobs? I'm trying to find or make knobs for a dresser I painted for our beach themed bedroom.

    If you already answered this sorry for the repeat. But I notice you use magazines which is a glossy paper. Can you use print pictures...I don't have many magazines and probably won't get to them. But I love to print nice things. What paper should I print on if it would still work? (regular printing paper, card stock, etc)

    • @CraftKlatch
      @CraftKlatch  8 років тому +1

      You can use printed images, on regular paper, but the Mod Podge will smear inkjet images. Laser printed images work fine.

  • @Naebearz18

    What she did was just find a spot on the magazine, trace around the stone but instead of cutting it out she smeared the glue on the stone and squished it on the page then let it dry over night and cut it out in the morning when the glue was dry so her scissors wouldn't get messy. I had put my stones, glue, and magazines to the side to work on but never got to it. Think I'm gonna try this way first haha.
