    As a 66 year old man these commercials always put a smile on my face. I go back to my childhood sitting around the tv watching these with Mom and Dad.

    With a 1000mg of salt in each can, they should have called it "Stroke and Sandwich"

      The Green Giant did that to a lot of kids back in the '60s. If I had a nickel for every time I've read similar comments to yours about the Green Giant here on UA-cam...well, I'd have a shitload of nickels.

    The ad for Black Label beer features Jean Goodspeed as Mabel the barmaid (that's what they called servers in bars and taverns back then, don't blame me). And that's Paul Benedict (aka Mr. Bentley from The Jeffersons) in that last Schaefer beer ad.

    Outstanding quality compared to most of the compilations available on UA-cam. It's great to hear these 16mm film transfers without the usual 60 cycle hum and noise. Obviously your prints are pristine or else you have one heck of a great noise reduction system. If you have any radio commercials of movie spots like those found on the 45rpm EP released in the 70's I'd love to hear them. Thanks for your efforts..

      Simpsons & South Park better than Futurama by 10 miles (and better than Family Guy, & the Cleveland Show, by at least a couple of miles)

    If I had a time machine, I'd LOVE to have a Schaefer (or More than One!) with Hedy Lamarr!!! Beauty AND Brains is SO FUCKIN' HOTTT!!!!

    I wonder if some of the actors/actresses in these ads, such as the young actor & actress in the Quick Tanning/ QT Coppertone ad (2:07), were better known for some TV show(s)/movie(s) that they also had been in, or would later be in. (Actually, several others were briefly shown towards the end of the QT ad.) They show Hedy Lamarr's name (along with her picture) at 7:45, but I'm not sure who the others were in that very long series of Shaeffer ads, starting with the keyboardist at 7:00.

    There is the commercial which made me ask for, and receive, a Mr. Machine for Christmas 1960. Six months later, when we moved, my mother agreed that we didn't need to pack Mr. Machine because I was tired of him by then.

    • @dwightpowell6673
      @dwightpowell6673 5 років тому +1

      You should've stopped speaking to your mother for doing that.

    • @not-so-smartaleck8987

      @@dwightpowell6673 I think it was the above-commenter's idea not to bring Mr. Machine along (as part of their move), rather than his/her mother's idea, considering the commenter said he/she was "tired of him" anyway.

      @@not-so-smartaleck8987 Well, Yah. But there were things I was bored with at a certain time that I would PAY DEARLY for now. There's that. I kept certain items that my kids LOVED, then got "bored" with that I "stowed away"...Twenty years later..The JOY they had when I "gave them back" to them was PRICELESS. It's a matter of observation, You obviously can't keep EVERYTHING, But if you "know" you kids, You can detect what will one day mean something to them. PAY CLOSE ATTENTION to your kids, They'll "freak" when they see that you kept that "lame" drawing they made of you, or a favorite book or toy. 👍😊👍
