For anybody wondering why rowlett is using its older and newer sirens, its because that the replacement project is not complete. This has a result of the city having two outdoor warning systems due to the newer system not covering the entire city. So until the whelens fully cover the city, the T-128s will stay in service even if they are right next to the new sirens. Major update: the reason for the old system being replaced is due to the T-128s being 24 years old and suffering from age related issues, ehich has caused maintanense costs to rise. Latest update: the T-128s have been cut off from the power grid, they are no longer tested.
Atleast until the T-128 gets removed, which right now won't happen. However once the new Whelens are all installed, the city is gonna remove its T-128s
Alright. But eventually the T-128s will be removed. That's why I went to record the test. You also should hear when they sound the old and new systems off at once, it's creepy.
I really do want to get a hold of this T-128 due to its proximity to where I live, it seems to run mostly fine, and i dont know if the city is gonna sell its T-128s off, give em to a city, or scrap them.
@@legendarygodzilla3577 Go for it! I'm not a siren kiddie either but I plan to save and restore them as well as build them. Your best bet to acquire it would be to get in touch with the city or whoever is removing it and see if they'll give or sell it to you.
Ok its cuz I knew that Rowlett was upgrading their asc system to whelens and thats a wps-2910 that will be replacing a T-128 even tho the T-128 is still online and idk when it will be removed
@@MattTheAllertor125The T-128s will remain in place until the newer system completely covers the city. As of currently from when this video was posted, the Whelens don't have complete coverage and there isn't any near elm Grove, so as of now both systems are being used. The new system also has a few issues that may need to be fixed too.

Thank for that but what was the reason to replace the older system. T-128s aren't that old of a siren.
@@MGHPr I don't really know.
Very interesting!
By the time it’s done the city will get shafted by Whelen as electronic sirens don’t cover as well.
@@fireman746tell that to my city mayor or council.. please. You probably need a group to tell em to keep the old system up.
Oh! Look at that! An ASC T-128 and a Whelen WPS 2910, they are best friends! Awww!

No.
