Visiting the TIP OF CANADA | Point Pelee National Park | Discover Ontario | Leamington, Ontario

- We visited the SOUTHERN MOST TIP OF CANADA! Surprisingly, neither of us had ever been to Point Pelee National Park, so we decided it was time to cross it off the list. Point Pelee is one of 5 national parks in the province of Ontario, and also one of the most diverse! It's found in Essex County and it extends right into Lake Erie. The word pelée is French for 'bald', which is a fitting name for the point that disappears into the lake. The park consists of marsh land, wooded areas, and of course The Tip. Definitely worth adding to your list if you've never visited before.

We're Tia and Andy and we both love to travel! We work full time in tech the industry, but during our spare time we are always planning our next adventure! We created this channel to share our travel experiences, along with tips and tricks on planning, packing, finding great flight deals, and everything travel related. We hope you enjoy our adventures!
I live like 15 mins away lol was thinking of going for a morning walk lol and DEFINITELY go on the Delaurier trail it’s so interesting and the land alone is filled with a lot of pioneer and farming history
I am from Essex County, and that is NOT the USA you saw. That is Pelee Island, Ontario which lies about 16km south of Point Pelee. Pelee Island is even further south than Point Pelee. You can take a ferry there from Leamington and it is a nice place to visit. And then a few km south of Pelee island is Middle Island. Middle island is the furthest south you can go in Canada, however unless you have a boat it is not possible to get there. It is at this island that the US border is a few hundred meters south of it.
Oh no way, thanks for letting us know! We'll have to make an updated version of this video and correct the information + make a trip out to Pelee Island. Learn something new everyday :)
You are so right, I just saw on google maps
great birding spot
Thanks for sharing this! Never been to Canada but feeling the vibe from your video.
Hey Pedhead!
No problem! We (and the rest of Canada) welcome you to come visit!
You can't see the US from Point Pelee. I believe you were looking at Pelee island.
Ah! Thanks for the correction!
Morning coffee is a must! Good morning at 6am!
It sure is! I really loved making the coffee in nature. SOO relaxing!
Yeah so windy ay and saw some falling trees. could imagine the top tower, must be even more windy haha, what's the temperature there?
the temperature wasn't actually bad. i believe it was around 15C. and the wind didn't make it too cold either. it was just super strong!
That tower is more than big it was huge. I so can't wait till they open back up the borders and hopefully we can plan a trip to Canada to actually meet you guys. And ofcourse get to visit some of the amazing places you all take us to visit every week.
oh man. there's some crazy cool things here you guys would definitely enjoy doing! And yes... HUGE tower. that wind was definitely fun. Andy got a huge kick 'flying' lol
Love the video and I’m planning to visit this summer but I must ask where did you get that wagon? I need a good one for my camping trips
ah! the wagon isn't ours! it was provided as part of our AirBnb. however, these can be purchased at your local big box store! we've seen Woods branded ones on sale at Canadian Tire. Walmart carries their own brand too!
I live close to point Peele but I've never been on top of the tower. This gave me a good chance to see how it looks. Love it 👍
Andy really enjoyed the wind up there bahaba
What kind of domentation do you need to go to pelee Island from the US? Green card or just citizens?
Hey Brenda, were not sure about this as we've never had to enter from the US side. The only thing we can say is that if you're entering from the Canadian side, you'll just need to pay the day use fee.
Sorry can't be more help!
"Coming up, the end of Ontario" 😆
I love how you guys were so excited about the sign 😂
We can relate to thinking a destination is closer that it is 😬
How great you were able to use your park pass again!
lol. HEY! it's the most southern point! fun fact! the most southern point of Canada is pretty much parallel as the most southern point of Oregan! that's about 1/2 way down the continental US!
I was there last week, and the bugs were horrendous!!
What a cool park! Looks a bit chilly though.. loving the views guys!
we're having some real Ontario weather here this year... ie, UNPREDICTABLE! it was actually quite warm that day but the WIND! SO STRONG!
That is so cool about the tip of Canada.
We had a National Park pass in the US too, but that was when we were doing RV life
7.99 is not expensive at all
We do not like mosquitos at all, they love us lol
yeah! we thought we weren't going to be able to use the Park pass because most of them are on the coasts. it's actually been quite worth it so far!
It is not unprepared, it is being adventurous hahaha
We are sure it is going to be epic!!
hahahaha. ok okok. i like that. Adventurous haha
Good morning....oh man...that coffee looked amazing.
#1TiaAndAndy
Hey Preston, the coffee was PHE-NO-ME-NAL! Andy has since bought one to use at home! We've experimented a bit an have come to the conclusion that you should bring the water to a boil before putting it into the moka pot. this avoids a lot of bitterness and really brings out the tones in the coffee.
we definitely recommend this little gadget!
So cool to have that place, I bet during better times (weather and non covid) a lot of people go there
yes. agreed. although Andy really love the huge wind. lol made him felt like he can fly.
I was there yesterday it was packed. Thousands of people enjoy point Peele in warm weather
Wow! We're glad that there are people there. It's a really nice park!
Middle Island is the most southerly point of Canada. South of Pelee Island about 150meters north of the boarder. The point at the end of Point Pelee National Park is the most southerly point of mainland Canada.
Incorrect spelling. should be border.
thank you for the information
That was Pelee Island you saw...the southernmost part of Canada
yup! sure was! it's such a fascinating place
That's great to have the tower, especially since you can't fly drones in national parks. Lol it was so windy. The mic worked really well. The park looks so diverse with lots to see and do. -Shawna🍁
the drone wouldn't have held up in the wind any ways. and the mic wasn't the true hero... we bought a wind screen for our mic. that did wonders!
@@TiaandAndy yes the dead cat mic covers are great.
It is so windy
Yes we can see the US!!
oh good! it showed up! while we were filming, we were like... hm... can anyone see anything LOL
Fort George in another place you can visit with that pass in southern Ontario, and is a great historic site
we are not aware of Fort George. Thanks for putting it on our list!
Love the place here in Canada.
It's a totally underrated national park!
hi new friend here i lived there for 6 years I am 3 hrs north of there now
cool! did you visit point pelee often?
Did you know that Point Pelee is at the same latitude as the Northern Border of California?
cool video. new friend here. stay connected my fellow traveler.
Thanks for dropping by, Mr & Mrs. Memories Adventures!
