  • Our family stayed at an oTENTik at Point Pelee National Park. An oTENTik is a cross between a cabin and a tent. It has a wooded floor and vinyl walls. Parks Canada added these oTENTiks to the park a few years ago and they are wonderful - a true glamping experience! We also climbed the new observation tower and did lots of hiking and exploring. Hi there! Loved this video, thank you for sharing your experience. Wondering, how did the gas stove work (I'm so clueless) and was there a lock on the door? I'm going in a few weeks and am a bit nervous.

    WOW!! They have a steel tower at the point now that was not there the only tower around was the one at the boardwalk sort of beside the parking lot and ponds. I guess I need to make a trip to the point when I lived in Leamington as a kid we use to always go to the point and I knew that place really well but since I moved I have not been there lately but I will have to make it down since they finally have some new things to check out.

      You’re not missing much- the tower has been closed since 2022 but they are fixing it up.

    I use to camp in Camp Henry when I was in Scouts as a kid but that camp henry was torn down and the new one built. we use to do winter camping and summer camping too. I have not been there in at least 20 years and surprised that you can camp in the park now that was something that was not allowed back in the day. They have really changed the place since I was last there.

    When I was a kid, the cottages in Point Pelee were sold. My uncle bought some and we helped him tear them down and he built his house with the lumber.

    Hi, are there washrooms and showers nearby? For the barbecue, are the gas cylinders provided in the camp site booking?

    • @CampingAcrossOntario
      @CampingAcrossOntario  3 місяці тому

      Yes, the washrooms and showers were a short walk from our site. The barbecue had a propane tank that was provided.

    So where do people do their bathroom?

    • @CampingAcrossOntario
      @CampingAcrossOntario  Рік тому

      Great question! There is a separate building with flush toilets, sinks, and showers that is shared by all the otentiks. It’s a short walk from the otentik.
