Sir, don't take it other ways.. That's why always bad policy is made and people suffer.. Read the book Imagining India written by Nandan Nilekani and India 2020 , Beyond 2020 both book written by Dr KALAM.. U know where we were wrong, what we should do. Dr KALAM advised to Judiciary be a part of India's growth story.. But often they behave opposite...

I am NOT affiliated with Rajiv ji, but have intellectually benefitted enormously from his vast public discourses, and from the outstanding insight of the top-quality guests he brings on his interview series. Please donate liberally!

I am 67 years old and live in New Zealand. My life and my family life mostly in Mumbai / Pune area underwent lot many stresses. To begin with I have experienced and enjoyed the life which was more or less having elements satisfying our Indian core culture. But as Mumbai / Pune started becoming slaves of model people unknowingly started losing happiness factor . Maharastra received accolades of fastest growing state etc. due to sudden growth of chemical / Mechanical Industry around Mumbai Pune. But in this "Development Yajna" people were sacrificing themselves and their core culture. As this Yajna grew it produced Monsters to kill the life of common man and life was not worth living. I therefore took decision to migrate to New Zealand which is a very good country but yet many Indian people who who were born and brought up in Indian culture do feel goodness and happiness of our traditional Indian cultural warmth. I thank Rajiv Malhotraji and Gurumurthyji to have given us detailed scan to comprehensively know where exactly our Arteries got blocked . Excellent video.

Wow wow wow! My respect has increased a lot for Puri Shankaracharya Shri Swami Nischalanand Ji.
He also said something like this , the relation of caste, communities and economics and how to ensure tradition transfer of skills from one generation to another and ensuring communities livelihood since birth etc etc etc.
He was very confident about it. I heard him so many times but never realised until I heard Mr Gurumurty.
Our Traditional system etc was so perfect before it got corrupted and deliberately misinterpreted to brainwash public so that they accept new model of west etc.
    OMG what a revelation!!!!

Great. Revolutionary yet traditional economic model for growth.
A decade or so earlier “ Hindu rate of growth” was a euphemism for slow economic progress.
Hope, in future, for the sake of Bharat and the world “Hindu Rate of Growth” would mean sustainable growth, reclaiming and further improve our natural resources lost/spoilt and healthy life for all.

In a nutshell, Shri S. Gurumurthy has basically shown how India (or rather, Asia) celebrates nonlinearity while the West celebrates linearity. All real systems are complex adaptive systems, which are inherently nonlinear, and the traditional culture of Asian countries (India, East and Southeast Asian countries) is deeply rooted in it. Excellent video.

A successful family enterprise is like a sports team. Everyone knows his place on the team and when the ball is his he goes all out. Personal relationship should not overide the place on the team. Families were built around brothers and difficulties arose when inlaws were brought in. I feel this should be given special attention.

Beautiful analysis. This is what one Mr.Seeman,a chief coordinator of the NTK party from Tamil nadu is also saying. Globalization and centralizing the economic policies will not help our country. Identify artisans skill groups and encourage them. Beautiful idea. This will make India great again.

  • @mmmittal

    Absolutely insightful and mind blowing.
Within my circles, I have often discussed that modern economics does not put a $ value on labour provided by a wife in cooking, cleaning, child-bearing, rearing children, educating them early on, and most important of all - giving them sanskars for valuable life experiences. The meal that you buy in a restaurant gets counted in GDP, but not the one a homemaker cooks at home. Had there been a value associated with all this work, how would the GDP calculations look? I know it will be horrendously difficult to calculate economic value of all this work, but at least the value could/should be recognized by society.
Our Dharmic society did recognize contribution of all different sections of society, but the current Western model creates fissures based on faulty indications of economic value added.

Such discussions should be the base of our everyday talks, intellectuals will only drive us out of our colonized programming to a more free and traditional approach.
Thanks sir, for the gift of this ideology. Hope this comes to the everyday practice.

  • @Vishvaksenah

The interview is excellent. It was very enlightening indeed.
However there was a slip of the tongue while quoting the shlokah.
The correct shloka is as follows:
    त्यजेदेकं कुलस्यार्थे ग्रामस्यार्थे कुलं त्यजेत्
    ग्रामं जनपदस्यार्थे ह्यात्मार्थे पृथिवीं त्यजेत्
    tyajedekaM kulasyaarthe graamasyaarthe kulaM tyajet
    graamaM janapadasyaarthe hyaatmaarthe pRuthivIM tyajet
Sacrifice one for the sake of the family; give up a family for the sake of a town; sacrifice a town for the benefit of the nation; also, leave the earth for the benefit of the soul.

This was an excellent and eye opening discussion... It makes me really anxious to speculate as to how many of our policy/law makers know of the things discussed here... I am afraid to guess that it is not enough... It also worries me to realize how many of the mentioned indigenous micro economic systems might be classified as black-economy and hence harmed by our politicians... I really hope everything on your channel gets much more exposure than it currently has!
