14:25 it is a recommended practice. If you change the switches many times, the hot-swap sockets can pop off the PCB if you don't hold from the back like that. Novel keys build guide on the nk65 EE also recommends it.
you have a rather soothing voice and a nice accent :D background sound is the only issue I've seen in this video!! was wondering where you're from as well
I'm waiting for mine's arrival. Bit bothered by how the top and bottom casing parts' color are very different. Is it because of the mute silicone? Can it be dyed to black? Thanks!
The top and bottom part of the case are of the same color, the reason the bottom part looks darker on video is because of the case foam showing thru the translucent case. :)
Can I just put the switches directly onto the pre-assembled board? Or is it better to disassemble the board to install the switches first? Would it make any difference such as making the switches attach firmer to the plate since I just plan on using the factory stabs?
I have that same question, it looked like there was enough room for him to place it without taking apart the keyboard. Did you ever find out the answer?
Only the first run will have the stabilizers lubed. My stabilizers from the factory was really good too! My issue is how loud my spacebar is. IDK if it's my spacebar keycap or not but it CLACKS really loudly and does not return to the reset position fully.
I read that on the next run, they keyboard would arrived unassembled. As for the spacebar not returning to the reset position, it could be that your spacebar is warped. Did you try putting in a different spacebar from another keycap set?
What i even like more about this video is that i actually a getting almost the exact same parts for my build. thanks so much haha
why did u unscrew? couldnt u put the switches without unscrewing ?
Just ordered the Round 2 Tiffany version. 😁 It'll be my first custom build. Great videos, btw! Keep it up!
