I always wondered why yoda tried to stop the pillar from falling on kenobi and anakin. He shouldve just force push the two bodies out of the way instead, then he couldve re-engaged with dooku.
never understood such comments or questions on movies where it's all about the plot and not because something needs to be as logical as in our realistic world
You left out a good bit: Obi-Wan vs Ventress Dooku vs Anakin Anakin and Obi vs Ventress(1st fight) Obi vs Grievous(1st one) Kit Fisto, Nahdar and clones vs General Grievous Nahdar Vebb vs General Grievous Eeth Koth vs General Grievous Both Obi vs Grievous duels(after the Eeth Koth one also has Adi Gallia vs Grievous in the first of these two) Obi and Anakin vs Ventress and Grievous Grievous vs Adi Gallia Ahsoka vs Pre-Vizla Anakin vs Dooku Obi & Ventress vs Maul & Savage Maul vs Savage Obi & Adi Gallia vs Maul and Savage Obi-Wan vs Grievous(very brief) Anakin & Yoda vs Dooku & Sidious Kanan vs Sabine
I will say this for ventress, she really gets slept on as a duelist. Yea she loses a lot but seeing as she rarely ever gets a fair fight she never got killed and that’s super impressive. She fought Anakin and Obi Wan together on a regular basis, both of which are solidly top 5 Jedi duelists at the time, Ashoka and Luminara at the same time, she fought maul and grevious as well. The only real mark against her dueling record was losing a 1v3 to a blind dooku.
Ya Ventris is a pretty strong duelist but she doesn't get reginised because she doesn't have any good wins even though she doesn't have any bad losses besides Dooku
yeah, but then again didnt anakin totally wreck her in a 1v1 without obiwan interfering on kamino? she definitely is far more capable than the miniboss she's always been treated like, but definitely not better than grievous
Gotta give Barris some more Credit: In a room alone, Face to face with the Poster boy of the Clone Wars (even tho he didn't get that title yet), the Chosen One, arguably the most aggressive and unrestrained Jedi and the Master of the Padawan she just successfully framed. She didn't surrender immediately. I'd say I'm surprised he didn't cleave her In twain but this IS a kids show...
Can we appreciate how at 15:54, despite all of Vizsla's weapons and gadgets, including a jetpack that let him fly out of melee range, Maul still wouldn't use the Force to beat him?
I think it is impressive the other way around. Vizsla put up a decent fight against Maul, really showcasing how the Mandalorians made their armour and weapons to be able to compete with force users. They probably usually lose a 1 vs. 1, but they can definetly beat most force users in a group.
@@TheOzelot11 Mandalorians are great fighters, and with how much emphasis they put on strength, Vizsla would be expected to be exceptional, even by their standards. What I meant is that Maul probably could have ended the duel in seconds with the Force, but instead he chose to rely on his lightsaber skills alone
@@carlos00700 4 times? I've watched it again, and there are 2 times where he might have augmented his jump with the force, though it might as well have been his mechanical legs.
@@jonaszpawlacz756 it's hard to say how much he used the force bc so much of it is unnoticeable. For example, he can use the force to predict what the opponent will do next or add extra power to his lightsaber swings.
Even as an old geezer he was still a worthy foe capable of putting up a fight and damn good at it too,There were a few times he had the opening too kill anakin and even Obi Wan
@@jeff1liam2 True enough. But he betrayed everything he once believed in. Jedi make mistakes, too. He felt like he was betrayed by what he saw in his eyes and the Jedi were the villains to some people. That was also the same reason why Ahsoka Tano left the Jedi Order. Things aren't that simple 😕.
@@jamesplunkett8912 I mean I agree with dooku, he was right abt the Jedi. It was just unfortunate that he ran into the most power hungry manipulator at the time.
This is fun, but you are missing a lot of duels from The Clone Wars, and probably a few from Rebels as well. Still cool to see them in order like this though.
Belated Media said the same thing that it was over choreographed. Which him and others that said that is wrong. I mean the prequel lightsaber duels were so good it was used in Clone Wars both old and new, Rebels, and even the Jedi Knight games like Jedi Outcast and Academy.
@@lozza901 🤣 What? My comment is a few hours old, on a video made for Star Wars fans, mostly watched by sub 30 people. Not really a fair playground, is it?
The Ahsoka/Maul duel on Mandalore actually takes place BEFORE Obi-Wan/Grievous on Utapau because he was still fighting him when the council had that "I sense a plot to destroy the Jedi" meeting that was in both RotS and TCW. Ahsoka defeated Maul several hours before Order 66, but Obi-Wan defeated Grievous mere minutes, maybe an hour or two, before Order 66. I'm somewhat amused at the chronological issue you run into with the Ahsoka/Vader duel. It did take place entirely at the end of Rebels season 2, so you have it placed correctly, but she was ripped out of the timeline by season 4 Ezra. (I love the symbolism that Ahsoka was dueling her past, figuratively and literally, and Ezra saved her by pulling her toward her future, figuratively and literally.) If we see more of the World Between Worlds in the Ahsoka series, that's probably going to mess up the chronological order of things even more. People have pointed out all the missing duels from TCW and Rebels, but I think you got the most important ones except the Kanan/Sabine spar that is pretty important to Sabine's character development. I also think you need the Ahsoka/Magistrate duel from The Mandalorian. I think it counts because the beskar spear can deflect a lightsaber just as well as another lightsaber, and I find it pretty special that Ahsoka was involved in the first all-female duel ever (with Luminara v. Ventress) and then she was in the first all-female duel in live-action. And, of course, if that duel counts, then Din/Gideon counts, too, and that's a pretty important duel for the plot of The Mandalorian.
when ezra pulled her out of her timeline he was looking at the duel through a portal back in time... so parts of it may have been SHOWN to the viewer in season 4... it all still HAPPENED at the time of the end of season 2...
According to the Vader comics, Darth Vader has a stronghold on Mustafar. He has two viewing areas for him to meditate upon the darkside: One overlooks where Obi-Wan struck him down and left him to die; the other is directed at the landing bay where he "killed" Padme.
Obi Wan knew Anakin too well. He managed to bait Anakin into trying to kill him in the same way that Obi-Wan killed Maul, as he knew he wouldn’t be able to fight Anakin forever, and managed to permanently hinder Vader’s potential as a result.
Animated Dooku is such a sophisticated level of evil when he fights, one hand behind his back even, like he's fencing... Animated Palpatine almost looks careless, but it's carefree, genuinely messing around with a shocking amount of finesse when he uses his lightsaber/s, probably because he knows he can win the fight without it, and get's so little chance to use it... does remind me of Voldemort in the way he holds his wand, a loose yet secured grip, a credit to the actor for this decision, perhaps in a similar way in comparison to a beginner pianist who presses each key with intent, compared to the master who appears to gently touch each key, yet it is the precise required force that was necessary and looks effortless like breathing... trying to think of other examples of sophisticated skilful evil, Mickelson as Hanibal perhaps, watching the cooking scene... not evil, but Mickelson for that matter in 'King Arthur' is pretty and pleasing to watch...
Alec Guinness has a similar, delicate, thumb-on-top grip on his lightsabre hilt when Obi-Wan faces Vader in the original movie. I always picked up on that, even as a kid. Vader seemed more eager and guarded, sword already ignited (we didn't see it ignite, making its unique coughing sound, until 'Empire Strikes Back'), held across his person like a hockey goalie's stick..
@@n.w.1803 animated alec guinness for that as obi-wan with his last battle against maul in rebels shows this finesse a lot better... similar to live action palpatine against windu, Ian mcdermaid just doesn't have the athleticism, for that matter, at any age it would not be possible... feel like ashoka suffers this as well, the animated characters for the most part are ridiculously superior to their live action counterparts, just because really, it's not attack on the live action, it's like being confused that chris evans can't actually punch as hard as captain america can, he just can't... even vader in Rebels, that's the vader people see in their minds... it wasn't until these comparisons are made that it becomes more evident... New Hope was in a world of it's own, initially, and if I hadn't seen the animated versions, and watched it when it was first released, I would've been stunned by Alec Guinness' swordsman ship, but he was an older gentleman after all, limitations and comparisons...

@@reagan1197 And we've seen padawan's taking on dooku, they still last more than 5 seconds and can even hold their own. Literally no excuse for a jedi master to get struck down in 5 seconds in a 4v1 scenario while he's fully alert, they did him dirty and that scene makes no sense at all.
@@DrakeOola I do agree that the 3 Jedi Masters should’ve survived longer, I think the fight would’ve been even cooler if we saw Sheev truly fight all 4 and slowly wear them down. They just made those 3 die so quickly to show how strong Palpatine is.
24:36, this fight is a bit underrated probably just because it’s short, but god that whole sequence might be the best out of any fight in the series. Every move they made was aiming for the kill, and it really showed not only the insane skill of 3 of the top 7-8 duelists in TCW, but also how familiar they are with each others’ styles. Obi-Wan and Anakin have fought together so much at this point that they know exactly how to play off each other with zero communication, and both (especially Anakin) have fought Dooku so much as well.
And it shows how Dooku was likely the best duelist from a pure skill perspective. It takes a ton of talent to be able to hold your own against Obi Wan and Anakin, not to mention he was able to throw both of them off balance without a single offensive attack
It's also neat how they kept aiming for his legs. This throws his balance off as he needs to, you know, keep them. Most duality would back away or make distance in response, limit the opponents range of motion in their space, but he was surrounded so that's not an option. Instead he embraces the disbalance, using it to throw kicks at both of them to ward them away.
I have to say my favorite is the final fight between Obi Wan and Maul. The nostalgia, no wasted moment, the tragic elements, even the lack of music makes it memorable.

The best part is the lead up where you can kind of see Obi Wans decision making process as he switches his preparatory stances, all of which he has used before, but against Maul they hadnt worked. Its like the writers were showing the audience obi wan reaching back in his memory to figure out how to kill maul, then deciding to simply trust in the force, relaxing his form.
Obi-Wan fighting Maul and Vader right after makes an incredible comparison, Maul picks up on Luke's importance before dying to his old rival, and then Obi-Wan dies himself to set Luke on his path to Vader's redemption after failing multiple times prior. Seeing over 40 years of Star Wars come together like that in 2 simple lightsaber duels is amazing.

55:38 reminds me very much of this one samurai movie: tension building lead up, few stance changes then boom, it's over. The older I get the more I appreciate these subtleties
The way Maul holds his arm out after doing flips like "your move, Jedi" always sends a chill down my spine. You can even tell Obi Wan is using Qui Gons lightsaber form in the fight. It was that moment that made him go from form 5 (if I remember right) to form 3.
Technically he went from form 4 (Ataru) to form 3 (Soresu), but I don't blame you for getting that wrong. I'm just happy somebody else knows about that little detail!
Wow, that just reminded me how evil and Dark Side aligned person Rey is. The choreography shows it beautifully. She not only fights like a berserk Savage Opress style but also stabs an unarmed enemy who just spared her life multiple times with his own weapon while he is staggered. Not a Jedi way at all. I am so sorry that Daisy Ridley got such a character to play.
I'm convinced that they didn't even hire a choreographer for Episode 9, all Rey and Kylo fights in that movie were just repeated baseball swings, even when kylo held his hilt in reverse grip. Such a waste and such low effort on the part of the director and Lucasfilm. You're right that Daisy and all the actors deserved better.
I do appreciate how much of the Palpatine traits are evident in Rey. All that "Rey Skywalker" bullshit? Nahhh, that there is Rey PALPATINE, bitch! Always was and always will be! (Even sounds better rolling off the tongue than "Rey Skywalker" imo.)
I noticed just now for the first time ever after 40 years of being a fan of star wars, that Obi Wan's lightsaber was far more "true blue" than Lukes when he meets Vader. Lukes has sort of a Cyan color if held next to Obi's. So the original movies had 4 colors. Two different blues, Red, and a Green. Interesting. For years I just lumped the blues together, but its obvious if you view them side by side.
58:05 - 58:15 ... although imo the blue in TLH seems to be from the remastered version, and perhaps the scene from ESB isn't. Difficult to find the "originals" nowadays.
i do find it kinda touching how obi-wan, instead of letting maul slump to his death, he catches him. i think that shows how far obi-wan had come to that point.
One of the Things i actually really apreciate in starwars "rebels" is that of the shape of the lightsabers themselves. the giant beam of light was good for things like cinematography, but in rebels they made the blades alot thinner, empahsising the way the work more. its Concetrated energy beam that follows a straight line, from its emitter, the thinner deisgn makes them far more mobile and makes their wieghtdistribution more bleivable. so yeah I am digging the thinner blade.
You are one of the few people I've seen that actually like the thin sabers in Rebels. Tbh, I don't really mind them either, I actually didn't even notice them until I saw people complaining about them.
If you watch the fight between both asohka and vader, you will see that he is using form five like he did bac in the clone wars, he is using the exact same style as he did when he was still anakin, BUT keep something in mind, this proves that he can move qite well in his said restricted suit which was also designed to hinder and control his form five more, remember Vader should be able to lift his blade above his head without having aimense strain, but look at that cyborg fight right now, he is just as agilie and fluent as he was when he fought in the clone wars. And He is remembering hiself during this fight as a result.
I still think Luminara vs Ventress was the best in the show. It showed how to get under a Form 2 practitioners skin, call their form unrefined, amateurish, and sloppy. It will send them into a blind rage. I also liked most of the duels in Rebels.
I think that had less to do with Form 2 and more with Ventress generally being prideful and Luminara actually finding her level of skill lackluster. I suspect Ventress would have been offended by that regardless of what style she used.
i think thats more specific to ventress, dooku clearly isnt the type of guy to pull an anakin and lose because hes cocky lmao, his death in episode 3 was just anakin summoning his chosen one plot armour + he has gotten alot stronger since their last fight
Awww damn this duel between Maul and Ahsoka is just so gosh darn good! The fluid motion, the dialogue in between. Mauls desperation at the end. Hnnnng perfection
Dooku was the true apprentice that Palpatine didn’t cherish. They could have went far. He was even able to defend and attack the Jedi Grandmaster at that time.
Palpatine was greedy, he wanted the Chosen One, the strongest Force user ever (iirc), and tossed aside everyone else like trash as soon as Anakin came within reach.
5:28 They say Fighting is form of Dance. For Anakin to spin around while fighting, shows Overconfidence. That is EXACTLY how Obi Wan reads his attacks. 5:40 Obi Spins around as well, but it is short and Effective, attacking behind an opponent to daze him and take his saber. The high ground is decided towards the END of a Battle, not during. Now Yoda Spins as well 7:04, since his stature can allow that. Hes Rey Mysterio and with that Speed and Size, Hes a legit Tornado of Flurries.
I do understand I missed some, I was doing this all from my phone and it was getting hard to keep track of content. I wasn’t expecting this vid to become so popular. I was also going for Canon only duels, so no Kotor and no ‘03 Ventress/Anakin, and strictly lightsabers so sadly nothing from The Mandalorian. But because this has gotten so popular, I’ll try to make it on my computer with a good editor app along with adding the extra content of Kotor, Mando, etc. If anyone has recommendations for video recording and good video editor apps that work with Chromebook it would be greatly appreciated!
Wel. I have one it is that it is obi and ventress vs maul and savage. But a nother is obi and a jedi master from the cunsul vs maul and savge. It was from the prirates on the clone wars episodes
easily the best in my eyes is the Maul vs Pre Vizla duel if only because its the closest we'll ever get to the Revan vs Mandalore the ultimate duel in the Legends timeline. That and it is a true duel of honor between two villains where one never uses the force out of respect for mandalorian customs and to become leader of death watch and the other is a true villain like Maul but still has a strict code he follows by even unto his death.
Love this but there's some content missing from Clone Wars, Jedi Fallen Order and Rebels. But I'm sure you can update it later. Great video! Loved seeing the fights in whole clips instead of interspersed and cut between scenes from the films.
I'm pretty sure jedi fallen order wasn't included because it's a video game where you control the duels, and the cutscenes wouldn't be very much by themselves.
@@appletree13 The duels have outcomes whether you win or lose. So the outcome is determined if you make the right actions/win. Hence Trilla and 9th Sister losing, Cere vs Vader, they all happen. Even then the cut scenes of the duels are non-playable - therefore a lightsaber duel.
And just like that Obi-Wan became undefeated and the best Jedi Knight duelist. Despite his low attunement with the force, he always wins with his incredible defence and trust in the force.
This whole compilation has made me very thoughtful about how lightsaber duels have changed over the years. In shows like Kenobi and Ahsoka (which are terrible names btw, they couldnt be a bit more creative?) they completely lost the most basic pillars of their respective fighting styles, and leaned way too heavily on cgi and epic lighting to make it "fun" for the audience. Last i checked, Obi Wan has had the same fighting style since the phantom menace, a combination of careful observation of your opponent and infinite patience. He lost some of that as a part of his exile, but the point of the show was for Obi wan to reobtain what he once had a long with some new wisdom, but instead in the show he was on the offense from beginning to end, and uncharacteristically off-kilter. As for Ahsoka, she is very well known for her double blade style with heavy usage of acrobatics, and she used neither the majority of the show. Again, it was a reformation story where both characters had to rediscover themselves, but how did they veer off path so heavily? Sometimes I dont understand movie writers these days.
And that right there is the point, the whole driving force behind the tragedy. He had so many opportunities to reverse his course but he barreled through each and every one.
I just noticed a parallel, when obi wan was tracking down dooku, dooku had obi wan prisoner in attack of the clones, dooku tried to get obi wan to join his side but obi wan denied, same with maul vs. Ahsoka, ahsoka was hunting maul down and while ahsoka and maul fought, maul tried to make ahsoka join his side
I absolutely loved that... Funny enough apart from Duel of Fates I preferred the animated cgi battles. Wasn't there a battle between Kenobie and Ventress vs Maul and his brother? I know its in Clone Wars cgi, but can't recall the episode.
Savage with a single bladed hilt and saber would be much more devastating than what he had become. I imagine closer to Malgus from legends, obviously he won't be be close to him but he would prove a deadlier combatant, and perhaps the two would have been too much for palps and made him retreat.
those punches even feel real, like the speed of the physical hits dont match the pace of the lightsabers as lightsabers dont have any weight in the blade and only the hilt so theyre swung so fast, but the punches and headbutts feel like realspeed hits, much more physical than the ocassional force push we get in other fights
I feel like the excellence portrayed in The Clone Wars has spoiled a lot of the movie and TV show stuff because we know how good we can have it animated. New stuff is still good but there's a distinct lack of over the top flipping and fighting while precariously teetering on scaffolding
if you watch closely, obi wan used form 1 to defeat mauls form 7 and he beat him in the reverse way that he killed his master. where maul used the middle of his saber to defeat quigon jinn. obi wan kenobi cut through the middle of his weapon to defeat maul.
Everyone should know by now with animation there really aren't any boundaries. You're free to do whatever you want. This proves that it's just a testament of how epic the live action lightsaber duels were in the prequels. They were just as epic and intense as the animationed ones were. Arguably better!
At 15:54 all I can hear is star killer challenging the mandalorians sam really did a great job with all the characters he voiced in the show and in the games as well
Dooku, and Anakin’s first battle was so epic, and also very articulate. But he let his ego get the best of him and lost an arm. Becomes at the height of his power second battle, more control, and doesn’t make a mistake. He was fine until palpy started yapping. Then his ego led to his downfall, defeat against Obi and the creation of Vader. Then in an effort to save his son he had compassion for one last moment. Died a legend. The man who hated himself the most. Please keep bringing more of Hayden.
The mo-cap on Maul and Ahsoka’s fight during the Mandalor siege is doing soooo much leg work. You can definitely see the lightsaber duels get better and better as the seasons go on, but even in later seasons with the increased funding, the duel between Anakin and Bariss, and then Anakin and Obi-Wan and Dooku are still very stiff and stilted and choppy. The duel on Mandalore flows sooo smoothly as a result of having the stunt performers lay down the reference and foundation. It’s so clean and crisp and polished. *chef’s kiss
By far the most entertaining duels were Dooku vs whoever and then Maul when he is raging because that is the only time when he is a real threat, he even landed a kick on Palpatine. lol
Fans always think that Agen Kolar, Saesee Tiin and Kit Fisto are weak, but actually Kit Fisto is very powerful. I mean he doesn't get triggered by Palpatines sith scream.
Probably because he recovered by then. If he went for Fisto first, he might've died like the others. They're all pretty powerful, just unlucky. Obviously Fisto is much more talented then Tiin or Kolar, though.
He died instantly against Papa Palpa, though. However, better example of his badassness, is the fact that only he and Obi-wan where actually the only Jedi that could outright beat Greivous.
Oh GOD do i love that moment, 5:45 watch this fight scene closely. it shows off the truth behind makashi philosophy so well. you never just block or strike at your opponents weapon, you GRAB it and MANUEVER it to your advantage. that is makashi, every single strike you make or your opponents make is another chance to disarm them, and dooku uses this philosophy FLAWLESSLY.
It helps that Makashi is mostly based upon actual fencing. The kind used by Sir. Christopher Lee. And so it’s the most realistic of the forms. And alongside Shii-Cho they’re probably the only forms a real person could use
@@TheUncivilizedNation makashi is not about fencing far from it. because while fencing is blade control oriented it also uses a lot of thrusts, Which lightsaber cannot commit to very easily incomparison to simply stopping the point of the blade in front of them and facing the oponent. it looks like a thrusg but isn't a thrust. it stops I a thrusting position causing the opponent to plan on the blade from not paying attention. makashi focuses mainly on using the grip of the blade on blade contact to grab the blade with its one and maneuverit away from he body to create its opening. while shi cho focuses on striking the blade of the opponent and mainly performs by sweeping underneath of the opponents blade and knocking it away in hops of either loosing their grip or destroying the physical weapon. makashi focuses on grabbing that blade out of the opoents hand with their own. soresu on the other hand takes both to a much more accurately aimed format, and focuses on targeted swngs meant to repel incoming blows away from you focusing mainly on defensive swings, event he main forward hand motion is designed to act as a sort of physical sight to aim help aim the swing int he right direction. any one of these can be used by a human, and so can ataru which is done by both striking from the back with a hook like inward sweeping motion or out right catchingthe opponents weapon and turning your bod out of the way to create an opening. again any human can do this. shien is a static block turned into a strike, meant to send an attack back at an attacker while dejmso is more for suing larger more powerful swings to use that same shine to act more agresisily and force a surrender. ALL OF THESE CAN BE USED BY A HUMAN WITHOU THE USE F THE FORCE, sorry my caps turned on
He casually just had a second Saber on him despite primarily only using one saber. Alternating between hands/both. Brother just said to Obi "hey I might need this this upcoming Tuesday you dont need this right?"
The part at 42:35 was just epic imo. Blaster and saber combined, super underrated. Kanan one of my favorite Jedi warriors out there. ALSO the inquisitor lightsaber noises? GOD BLESS THEY ARE GOOD
23:13 Anakin: "Get a good look, kids, and train hard. You'll be seeing these moves upclose and personal, soon" Younglings: "did you guys hear that?! We're going to be training with Master Skywalker." *during order 66* Last remaining youngling: "Master, I don't want to train anymore." Anakin: "Why not?!" *looks around him* "Ohhhhhh, oh shit. This isn't my training lightsaber? I swore I put that on my-...wait, heeerre it is! I had it on the wrong side, how embarassing 🤦♂️" *pauses in contemplation* Anakin: "NO WITNESSES!"
I always wondered why characters don't use the force in these duels. Dooku vs the Nightsisters for eg. They get several breaks in between the clashing, they could just use the force. Or Ashoka vs Bariss Offee, Ashoka got multiple chances to use the force to catch her off guard. A lot of these fights feel kinda weird when the characters clearly aren't holding back and are still not using every tool in the box. That's why I like Palps vs Maul and Savage. Palps was just playing around while Maul and Savage gave everything they got, Savage was too stupid to use the force so ofc he lost
you got two options, let the force flow through you to be able to attack while defending without missing a beat or take time and focus the force to use it to push, pull lightning. cant do both and if you time it wrong thats your ass split up to your neck.
Yeah, multiple times throughout the series we see them just suddenly force choke in rage and it's always super effective. Like one of ventresses fights vs anakin and obi, she just suddenly force chokes both of them when lashing out and they seemingly can't do anything to defend against it nor fight against it, they're just hanging in the air holding their throats completely defenseless. We've seen them lift a hell of a lot heavier stuff than simply force choking two people so it's not like it suddenly tires them out and they have to stop and if its 2v1 you could just hold down the opponent with the force while your partner slashes them down but nobody ever does that in the entirety of all the shows and movies... We also see some of them using the force with one hand while also swinging their lightsaber around so you don't even need two people, just force pull the enemy towards you and slash them, think we even see that happen to some lesser characters but never force user vs force user. The force is always severely underutilized in combat, only ever used to push an opponent away or lift them up for a brief period without actually doing anything with it, sometimes force lightning, grabbing their saber after dropping it, or some hops, but never using it in conjunction with the blade or using it as a finisher move. We see them being capable of lifting and controlling multiple objects throughout the shows too so they could use the force to hold someone in place with one hand then use the force to send their lightsaber flying against them and how tf would you even defend against that???
You should do all lightsaber duels by Ahsoka Tano from Clone Wars to Star Wars Rebels and the Mandalorian season 2. Add the duels between General Grievous and Ahsoka, those are my favorites.

Dooku only beats her so easily because he trained her. If he didn't, and she was just as powerful as normal, she would put up a much better fight.

Ya Ventris is a pretty strong duelist but she doesn't get reginised because she doesn't have any good wins even though she doesn't have any bad losses besides Dooku

32:26 I wonder how many times he looked back on this moment wishing he did something different. Obi was obviously baiting him here.
According to the Vader comics, Darth Vader has a stronghold on Mustafar. He has two viewing areas for him to meditate upon the darkside: One overlooks where Obi-Wan struck him down and left him to die; the other is directed at the landing bay where he "killed" Padme.
Vader imagining Obi Wan in the lava ground
Dooku's whole forn is based on fencing, hilt of the saber included

@@DrakeOola I do agree that the 3 Jedi Masters should’ve survived longer, I think the fight would’ve been even cooler if we saw Sheev truly fight all 4 and slowly wear them down. They just made those 3 die so quickly to show how strong Palpatine is.

They defeated the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order. You have to give them some credit for that.
the fact that the ignition of the lightsabers at 19:36 matches the music is just too cool
Finally someone appreciates this duel ! This duel is extremely underrated. Best duel in the whole franchise in my opinion.

Well-said!

Anakin Vs Barris is still on my top five of fights, the passion you see in Anakin, and his Vader coming through is amazing.
55:38 reminds me very much of this one samurai movie: tension building lead up, few stance changes then boom, it's over. The older I get the more I appreciate these subtleties
I will always love the sound Grevious makes when he spins his hands
Vrmvrmvrmvrmvrmvrmvrmvrm
The way Maul holds his arm out after doing flips like "your move, Jedi" always sends a chill down my spine. You can even tell Obi Wan is using Qui Gons lightsaber form in the fight. It was that moment that made him go from form 5 (if I remember right) to form 3.
Technically he went from form 4 (Ataru) to form 3 (Soresu), but I don't blame you for getting that wrong. I'm just happy somebody else knows about that little detail!
Maul tried to use the same trick he used on Qui Gon Jinn
Maul igniting his saber before the 1v1 battle for mandorlore was so cold it gives me chills
Every time I watch it
Anikin: Youre telling me i can dodge sabers?
Palpatine: No... when the time comes...... you wont have too
Wow, that just reminded me how evil and Dark Side aligned person Rey is.
Cade skywalker was the grey skywalker,Rey was never a skywalker and just a bad Jedi.
Damn this just makes every fight so much more meaningful and really puts some things into perspective
Sidious vs Maul and Savage will always be one of my favorites.
Same
Is my favorite from the 3D Clone Wars because it looks really smooth compared to the others.
The way sidious moonwalk stabs Savage is crazy.
I couldn’t agree more! Seeing the fight for the first time was like a dream come true. Sith fights go hard

i do find it kinda touching how obi-wan, instead of letting maul slump to his death, he catches him. i think that shows how far obi-wan had come to that point.
I really makes you think thag his master AND the ones he loved died the same way....in Obi Wan arms...

Dauym... it's like they read each other's minds.
Amazing how young Dooku looks so much like Charlemagne aka Sir Christopher Lee's ancestor
30:36 will always be the best one. Ever.
I hope that choreography can be present in Heir to the Empire. Seeing Luke fight more like his father against Thrawns army would be amazing

@@BlueSkyBirdies luke was stronger, but palpatine did the same thing to vader when he thought he had a chance at Luke
Just appreciate all the work he put in to make this video
Respect
Wel. I have one it is that it is obi and ventress vs maul and savage. But a nother is obi and a jedi master from the cunsul vs maul and savge. It was from the prirates on the clone wars episodes
It’s only an hour long dude. It’s not like you have to watch/read/play the entirety Of Star Wars content…
sadly a chromebook will struggle, you can use capcut on ios and android tho
easily the best in my eyes is the Maul vs Pre Vizla duel if only because its the closest we'll ever get to the Revan vs Mandalore the ultimate duel in the Legends timeline.
I don’t blame him for excluding fallen order but missing some other important ones regardless
I love how 56 mins of it is just the prequels

The number of people that tried to warn anakin or give him a chance to come back to reason is so damn high.
And that right there is the point, the whole driving force behind the tragedy. He had so many opportunities to reverse his course but he barreled through each and every one.
i love it when luminara just roasts ventress in such a "polite" way ahahahhahahhaha
Then gets bodied.
This was a labor of love and I appreciate you for it
I just noticed a parallel, when obi wan was tracking down dooku, dooku had obi wan prisoner in attack of the clones, dooku tried to get obi wan to join his side but obi wan denied, same with maul vs.

That was in the last episode of Season 4.
Not all the CW lightsaber battles are here
The clone wars and prequel lightsaber duals are definitely the best ones
Savage with a single bladed hilt and saber would be much more devastating than what he had become. I imagine closer to Malgus from legends, obviously he won't be be close to him but he would prove a deadlier combatant, and perhaps the two would have been too much for palps and made him retreat.
Maul vs. Pre Viszla is actually the manliest lightsaber duel Star Wars ever had
those punches even feel real, like the speed of the physical hits dont match the pace of the lightsabers as lightsabers dont have any weight in the blade and only the hilt so theyre swung so fast, but the punches and headbutts feel like realspeed hits, much more physical than the ocassional force push we get in other fights
I feel like the excellence portrayed in The Clone Wars has spoiled a lot of the movie and TV show stuff because we know how good we can have it animated. New stuff is still good but there's a distinct lack of over the top flipping and fighting while precariously teetering on scaffolding
This is waht I dreamed of 8 years ago! Even if all the things that we have now weren't in there, i would've still watched it all the time!
Think that there was one with Ventress in the Clone Wars movie where she used her lightsabers connected, but well done on the vid
if you watch closely, obi wan used form 1 to defeat mauls form 7
and he beat him in the reverse way that he killed his master.
where maul used the middle of his saber to defeat quigon jinn.
obi wan kenobi cut through the middle of his weapon to defeat maul.
Ashoka vs maul I feel was one of the best duals in all of the clone wars series just pure quality
It's funny how Maul kicks Kenobi off the platform, and Qui-gon Jinn proceeds to instantly backhand him for that.
The prequels didn't do everything perfectly, but they did establish the magnitude of lightsaber combat instantly with the first two encounters.
Everyone should know by now with animation there really aren't any boundaries. You're free to do whatever you want.
This proves that it's just a testament of how epic the live action lightsaber duels were in the prequels. They were just as epic and intense as the animationed ones were. Arguably better!
At 15:54 all I can hear is star killer challenging the mandalorians sam really did a great job with all the characters he voiced in the show and in the games as well
The way Dooku fights is so elegant
I love the Signature salute between both kaidn and the grand inquistor.
“See you around kid” god I love that line it sounds like such an uncle thing to say and actually in fact I think my uncle has said that to me 😂
The mo-cap on Maul and Ahsoka’s fight during the Mandalor siege is doing soooo much leg work.
Damn, I didn't realize this video was over an hour. Better make me some cereal or roll a joint
Why not both!

Lmao this was funny. I smoked and ate my groceries so I feel this.
Dooku was such a bad ass in the Clone Wars. I think they made him too good compared to his movie scenes.
23:34 everytime i see anakin vs baris i wonder what everyone thinks of anakin
everyone knows hes the chosen one and one of the best jedi in fighting terms
that why they dont help him
@@seamuswbiggerarmalite3379 ik I'm saying i wonder what they think of him tho and witness only a glimpse of how powerful he is
You are missing so many tbh great compilation but there are so many amazing ones that it's sad to see them not here.
ALL OF THESE CAN BE USED BY A HUMAN WITHOU THE USE F THE FORCE, sorry my caps turned on
Luke vs. Vader in Empire still the GOAT imo. Maybe it didn't have the flashy moves, but the atmosphere of that scene has never been matched.
I still think the duel between Luke and Vader in ESB is the best. For both choreography and emotional content.
That last frame is perfect 😂
You did a great job! I know this took some time to do. I appreciated watching it.
It's so sad seeing Master Luminara on the thumbnail knowing how things went in Rebels.
Barris: The Jedi counsel is all about violence.
Anakin: Let me show you with violence why you're wrong.
He casually just had a second Saber on him despite primarily only using one saber. Alternating between hands/both.
Brother just said to Obi "hey I might need this this upcoming Tuesday you dont need this right?"
@@TheBuster0926 It's Ashoka's iirc, since she was in custody.

I like how there’s literally 5 minutes left when it’s gets to the sequels.
The whole "my powers have doubled since last time, dooku" line doesnt really hold up when taking into account the pyke syndicate bit of clonewars
The part at 42:35 was just epic imo. Blaster and saber combined, super underrated. Kanan one of my favorite Jedi warriors out there. ALSO the inquisitor lightsaber noises? GOD BLESS THEY ARE GOOD
It’s nice you included the fan fiction from 1:03:07 to 1:07:54
Some cool duels made by the fans!
23:13
Anakin: "Get a good look, kids, and train hard. You'll be seeing these moves upclose and personal, soon"
Younglings: "did you guys hear that?! We're going to be training with Master Skywalker."
*during order 66*
Last remaining youngling: "Master, I don't want to train anymore."
Anakin: "Why not?!"
*looks around him*
"Ohhhhhh, oh shit. This isn't my training lightsaber? I swore I put that on my-...wait, heeerre it is! I had it on the wrong side, how embarassing 🤦♂️"
*pauses in contemplation*
Anakin: "NO WITNESSES!"
@@jinzokan3499 well they did neither
Because it will be hard to take in count the force in a choreography.
Force pushes are generally pretty dodgable. Not that useful unless they are already off guarded.
You should do all lightsaber duels by Ahsoka Tano from Clone Wars to Star Wars Rebels and the Mandalorian season 2. Add the duels between General Grievous and Ahsoka, those are my favorites.
She got beaten by Barriss I mean she got kicked in the the face and fell 2 stories then stunned right after
