I absolutely love Jelly!! This was the first song of his I every heard of his and it was the day after my dad passed. Jelly helped me through the part of my life.
I love he caught you off gaurd and got you right in the song so much you had to catch yourself. I love this song and my next favorite of his is Same Asshole.

Jelly roll speaks from his heart and struggles he has or had . He has struggled with drugs , drinking , obesity, and depression. He has touched so many thru his music . Turned my wife on him she listens to him all the time she struggles with depression . His music help her and many others. His message for her makes her feel she's not alone others have the same issues even someone as the platform of jelly roll . Can't thank him enough .

Jellyroll is my absolute favorite music artist.
I love Jelly, this was the 1st song I heard by him n it was about 2 wks after my son died, he was my only child. When I heard this i couldn't stop the tears n I really felt like it was my sons thoughts n he wanted me to hear it to understand how he felt inside. Since then ive listened to a ton of his songs n ive cried a billion tears but I needed to do that. Jelly has helped me in my grief n its where I go when I need to feel it. Robby's mom forever 3/30/83-1/2/22. 1/2/22 is the official date but he actually passed on 12/30/21. He went missing n my family n a couple friends had to do the investigation, questioning n then the search because all the police did was send a missing person report out n that was all. I knew something was wrong. He was an adult 38 but had a brain injury at 19 which left him with a teens mind n maturity. He left the house on 12/27/21 n never came home. At 1st I didnt think anything of it, he stayed out many times n I panicked, calling police n hospitals n he always showed up fine, I figured its the week leading to new years eve n he was just out parting or with a girl. Fast forward to 1/1/22 early morning n he still wasn't home n all the parties were over, I knew something was wrong. We, not the police found his body 1/2/22 in a wooded/brush area behind a motel he had been at with several others, the area we found him was between 2 highways. He had been out in the weather in December in Massachusetts's for 3 days in just a t shirt n jeans. His coat n his phone was never found. He died from fentanyl poisoning, oh they call it an OD but I know my son, something happened to him n if he took something willingly, he didnt know it was laced with fentanyl. Of that, I have no doubt. The ppl he was with kept changing their stories n went in hiding n THERES no doubt something was very fishy but in the end, they say he OD ed. He drank (a lot) n smoked pot, but he didnt do hard drugs n ill never know everything that happened cuz they Aint talking n the police just dont care enough to look into it futher. 💔

Bro, Jelly saved my life, literally. Last year I got shot tryjng to help the people who lived above me, they were getting robbed and I intervened and I got shot in the leg by a .45, completely shattered my femur, and that started the downward spiral of depression from not being able to support and take care of my wife and kids, I got suicidal because of it, and Jelly, he saved my life with his music, I had a chance to meet him in person in september, and I told him my story and how he saved my life, he hugged me and had tears in his eyes, and he made security take me to the merch booth and gave me and everyone I with free hoodies. The world does not deserve a man like Jelly Roll. You need to follow him down the rabbit hole brother, you will not regret it I promise you.

Had the same reaction the first time I heard this song. It makes me cry every time that I hear it. It reminds me of my son, and his life that has taken such a drastic downward turn. Jelly Roll spent time in prison, as did Adam Calhoun and they made their lives successful after they came home. Jelly was named that by his mother. He is her little Jelly Roll. Another favorite is Echoes, and that one also reminds me of my son. They both make me cry. This man is actually a country rapper. This is the first song that I heard him actually sing to and not rap. His music is simply what he knows, and lives. The journey into his life of addictions, crimes he paid to society by being incarcerated comes through his musical healing, discovery, pain, dreams, successes and failures. Think that you will really get a lot more if you can do a deep dive/ journey into the soulful tunes done by Jelly Roll.
