Lovely piece of kit! I pick up my half barrel chronical tomorrow (22 Nov 15) and cant wait to start using it!!!! Would I be a bit of an arse if I said that in the video, you say fill it with beer and what you should have said, fill it with wort and ferment into beer! Just knit picking! Love your stuff and the style of your company. You are the Apple of the homebrew industry!
In addition to the steps shown in this video, it is also important to disassemble and thoroughly clean the inside of both ball valves before first use. I neglected this step, and the first two batches I fermented in my new Chronical both suffered contamination. Major bummer! Ss Brew Tech has instructions for proper ball valve cleaning on its FAQ. It may also be worth an update to this video to capture this important step so that others don't repeat my mistake: ssbrewtech.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/202956925-Proper-cleaning-of-ball-valves-before-first-use-
You can absolutely transfer the same way. I'm assuming you use gravity to transfer from your buckets by opening a spigot? Or do you use a transfer/siphon cane? If the latter, you'd likely want to do a pressurized or closed transfer to push the product from your fermenter to your keg.
Nice video, but I hate this thing. Bought two of them in the Netherlands, but they sold them to the Dutch distributer without the tri-clamp pressure parts for the lid, so there is no advantage, with the pressurized lid. When i made another solution the lid was absolutely not air tight, it leeked CO2 everywhere (0,2 psi). The lid rubber is also an hassle it does not fit (about 1,5 inch too big in radius), it takes 10 minutes at least to get it in the stainless steel lid-profile. And when I ask them for a quick shipment of the pressure parts they reffer to the dealer in the Netherlands wich already takes 2 months of waiting!
Hey Jason - Not 100% sure, but I don't see why this couldn't be for wine. After all, many wineries do ferment in stainless steel tanks! Let us know if you decide to experiment.

Not an "arse" at all.... Just a slip in production ;-)
I just got a Chronical, thanks for the helpful videos!
No problem! Glad they're useful!

I want to move away from the fermenting buckets and I get this contraption- do I transfer my beer into this the same way as in the fermenting buckets?

Less music.
Will see if we can adjust. If not, we'll definitely make that update in future videos.
Nice music but a bit loud since the background mumbling dissapears
agree. Hard to hear you over the music. Why must everything be so noise-polluted.
Where can I find this fermenter to purchase?

Are there a full range of spare parts available for the chronical fermenters?
SS brew sells replacement parts for it
Sick music video, only thing. There was some dude mumbling something in the background, idk why.
Any reason this couldn't be used for wine fermenting? I guess maybe the racking arm might not match for depth with wine making lee's.

Chronical? surely you mean Conical?
It is a conical, but they call it "The Chronical".

Cheers!
Please get rid off the music
Song name )?
Honestly can't remember. Catchy, isn't it? ;-)
Lose the music, please. Does not add any value. Actually detracts from the quality of this video.
Thanks for the feedback. We definitely had some bad volume/balance issues in our early videos.
