To add insult to injury, Leao, who was having a great game, was subbed early in the second half! So you sub the guy playing well but keep the guy playing like ass on? i think germanys adventages are the location (at home) and their experience. Plus Spains run went almost too perfect. They didnt struggle. Which is an important experience if you want to win the big games. Especially because their defense hasnt been punished for their mess ups yet. Spain actually had more expected goals against them than germany

Portugal has had a freeway to the semis with an easy group qualifying, easy group in the tournament, and struggled against slovenia in the round of 16. They are untested. The best-ranked team they've played is Czechia (ranked 34th). France is their first top-ranked opponent in both competitions, albeit a lack-luster one. However, France has faced Netherlands three times in both qualifying and group stage, Austria and Belgium. I don't get the historical stats going back almost 100 years. You can get a good idea by just looking at the last 1-2 years. This whole tournament has had the worst France, German, Italy, England, Portugal teams I've ever seen. What a drop off from 2006.

Yes 100%. Last game was a clear example of chances created and Ronaldo just either not getting there in time or fumbling. Yet he got to stay on and Leao who was actually haveing a great game got taken off.
I think Portugal vs France will be the match to watch. It is the battle between the two teams that is loaded with generational talents that has failed to come as a unit. There will be battle in the midfield with the likes of kante, Tchouaméni, camavinga and Vitinha, palinha and bruno fernandes. There will be the GK between Maignan and Diogo. My main concern is how will pepe handle mbappe? Roberto needs to know u need a quick paced defender like inacio or antonio silva to deal with the pace of Mbappe, dembele, theo hernandez. Leao's input will be crucial against his AC milan teammates Theo and maignan. I advocating for two strikers to play upfront ronaldo and ramos to deal will kounde, saliba and Upamecano.

You do need to say a lot more. 1) none of these players were even born back then, so why would the result matter? It’s not like Germany is relying on Rudy voller or Spain called up zubizarreta. 2) you’ve told us absolutely nothing about how often these teams have met. If they meet 2x a year and one hasn’t won in decades that’s meaningful. If they’ve played 4 sporadic matches , 1 per decade, then it’s the definition of meaningless.

I will say Germany-France and Switzerland-the Netherlands. Can't wait for the Spain-Germany game! Hopefully it will be a BANGER of a match. Why i chose Germany instead of Spain is because i think Germany is more effective in finishing overall. France they have not realy performed well this tourney but i would put them ahead of Portugal. Same as France the English squad has been dissapointing and Switzerland has been playing very well so. For the dutch i think the game against Romania gave them a boost to keep this going. Turkey struggled the last 20-30 minutes agianst Austria. If the Dutch just keep pushing and pushing them the Turks will get overwhelmed in the later parts of the game.
We cant loose, the mood here in Germany is just too good to be destroyed already. I think Germany has had the better enemies with Switerland and Denmark compared to Spain with Italy and Georgia, thats why Spain has looked that much stronger so far. What everyone also seems to miss out is that Spain wasnt actually that dominant against Croatia. Okay 3-0 seems pretty clear, but looking at statistics, it was a very even game and thats why i think Spain is far from unbeatable. Germanys attack will be the biggest test for the Spanish team so far and i think with a bit of Nagelsmanns strategic genius and the famous home advantage, Germany should win this. Dont come back at me if Spain wins though, i will be well aware of that as soon as the match is over, thank you.

When talking Germany Denmark, I'm always surprised everybody mentions the disallowed offside goal by Denmark but nobody mentions the disallowed header goal by Germany in the first 4 minutes. Germany didn't win this game by luck. Either way they would have won.

Turkey also won the previous encounter 2-4, but that's happened because of tactical blunders the Dutch had (they were still under Frank de Boer).

To add insult to injury, Leao, who was having a great game, was subbed early in the second half! So you sub the guy playing well but keep the guy playing like ass on? It made no sense, especially since it was clear the way to beat the Slovenians was pace because the only way they stopped Leao was fouls!

i think germanys adventages are the location (at home) and their experience. Plus Spains run went almost too perfect. They didnt struggle. Which is an important experience if you want to win the big games. Especially because their defense hasnt been punished for their mess ups yet. Spain actually had more expected goals against them than germany

Portugal has had a freeway to the semis with an easy group qualifying, easy group in the tournament, and struggled against slovenia in the round of 16. They are untested. The best-ranked team they've played is Czechia (ranked 34th). France is their first top-ranked opponent in both competitions, albeit a lack-luster one. However, France has faced Netherlands three times in both qualifying and group stage, Austria and Belgium. I don't get the historical stats going back almost 100 years. You can get a good idea by just looking at the last 1-2 years. This whole tournament has had the worst France, German, Italy, England, Portugal teams I've ever seen. What a drop off from 2006.

@@dannii312 Our defense is really not capable of handling good wingers. Kimmich is always out of position leaving Rüdiger to take care of the attacking winger. He managed alright against Denmark but looked completely lost in the earlier matches. Specially against Switzerland. Wingers with the quality of Nico could easily get past and score

Yes 100%. Last game was a clear example of chances created and Ronaldo just either not getting there in time or fumbling. Yet he got to stay on and Leao who was actually haveing a great game got taken off.

I think Portugal vs France will be the match to watch. It is the battle between the two teams that is loaded with generational talents that has failed to come as a unit. There will be battle in the midfield with the likes of kante, Tchouaméni, camavinga and Vitinha, palinha and bruno fernandes. There will be the GK between Maignan and Diogo. My main concern is how will pepe handle mbappe? Roberto needs to know u need a quick paced defender like inacio or antonio silva to deal with the pace of Mbappe, dembele, theo hernandez. Leao's input will be crucial against his AC milan teammates Theo and maignan. I advocating for two strikers to play upfront ronaldo and ramos to deal will kounde, saliba and Upamecano.

1) none of these players were even born back then, so why would the result matter? It’s not like Germany is relying on Rudy voller or Spain called up zubizarreta.
2) you’ve told us absolutely nothing about how often these teams have met. If they meet 2x a year and one hasn’t won in decades that’s meaningful. If they’ve played 4 sporadic matches , 1 per decade, then it’s the definition of meaningless.

I will say Germany-France and Switzerland-the Netherlands. Can't wait for the Spain-Germany game! Hopefully it will be a BANGER of a match. Why i chose Germany instead of Spain is because i think Germany is more effective in finishing overall. France they have not realy performed well this tourney but i would put them ahead of Portugal. Same as France the English squad has been dissapointing and Switzerland has been playing very well so. For the dutch i think the game against Romania gave them a boost to keep this going. Turkey struggled the last 20-30 minutes agianst Austria. If the Dutch just keep pushing and pushing them the Turks will get overwhelmed in the later parts of the game.

I think Germany has had the better enemies with Switerland and Denmark compared to Spain with Italy and Georgia, thats why Spain has looked that much stronger so far. What everyone also seems to miss out is that Spain wasnt actually that dominant against Croatia. Okay 3-0 seems pretty clear, but looking at statistics, it was a very even game and thats why i think Spain is far from unbeatable.
Germanys attack will be the biggest test for the Spanish team so far and i think with a bit of Nagelsmanns strategic genius and the famous home advantage, Germany should win this.

When talking Germany Denmark, I'm always surprised everybody mentions the disallowed offside goal by Denmark but nobody mentions the disallowed header goal by Germany in the first 4 minutes. Germany didn't win this game by luck. Either way they would have won.

Germany will beat spain and will most likely also win this tournament on their home ground. Spain is talented but too many players on their starting eleven are by far too inexperienced to win a big tournament. The current Germany players are much more experienced and much more successful on international top level (World Cup, Euro or Champions League) then spain. Take a look at the starting eleven from the first ko round (which is most likely also the starting eleven for the quarter final). The German players have played combined a total of approx 750 international games for the national team of Germany compared to approx 340 of the spanish players. Germany is also packed with players who were already very successful at the real big games in international top football (World Cup, Euro, Champions League). They have 2 players (Neuer and Kroos) in their starting eleven who won the World Cup. Spain has 0. Germany has 8 players (Neuer, Kroos, Ruediger, Kimmich, Guendogan, Havertz, Musiala, Sane) in their starting eleven who won the Champions League. Spain just 4 (Morata, Rodri, Fabian, Laporte). Its not even close!!! People simply dont understand how important experience is if you want to win a big tournament! Since Busquets left spain also dont have a REAL leader anymore.

Germany had a MASSIVE trainer/coach/manager problem during the last 5-6 years because Löw and Flick are very average coaches who did MASSIVE mistakes when they were the coach of Germanys national team. Similar to Southgate who never was/is able to bring England top quality on the pitch. There is a reason why most germans were so happy when Loew and Flick got fired! But now Germany solved this problem and they have with the tactic guy Nagelsmann and german striker legend Rudi Völler a great combination on coach/manager level.
The current Germany has the perfect balance on their team. They have super experienced players who won everything including the World Cup (Kroos, Neuer, Mueller) and they have many mid aged players who won the Champions League (Guendogan, Kimmich, Ruediger, Havertz, Sane) and they have young generation superstars (Musiala, Wirtz).
When you compare the sheer football quality of the current teams then its quite close with a slight advantage for Germany because more german players from their starting eleven already proved that they were successful at hightest international football level. Germany is also physically stronger then spain and they even have the home advantage now! This home advantage and the history are giving Germany a huge mental advantage!
Spain didnt face a powerhouse like Germany yet. This partly unexperienced spanish team will not stand the immense huge pressure which they will face in Stuttgart in front of the german crowd! All these online fanboys simply dont understand how important experience, mentality, physical strenght and home advantage is in such a big game. Trust me guys: This partly unexperienced spain will not survive such a monster ko game against a historical powerhouse like the four times World Champions Germany in front of the german home crowd!
