some of what your saying is true, but disney did creat mickey mouse. he drew the first concept sketch on a train, he was going to name him mortimer mouse, but his wife said that mickey was a better name because mortimer made him sound like a jerk. iwerks was loyally there the whole time making invaluable contributions to the character, though.

Koko was the first movie with sound a soundtrack, while Steamboat Willie was the first with animation syncronised to the music.

Little did Disney know back then, that decades later, his Company would buy the rights to one of the biggest Sci-fi franchises of all time.
Disney needs to go back to 2D. And so should many other studios. There's too much 3D and not enough 2D these days.
