Anyone who has been on or seen a demonstration in London will have seen that the police will try to separate plainly opposing groups. Also to ensure that marchers keep to the agreed route and away from traffic. When I went on marches we made a point of talking in a friendly way to police officers and this civility was returned.
I was not on this march but have been on many others. In my experience at no point did anyone on a march I took part in or observed try to stop people joining or leaving that march or pausing to sit and rest. There were usually gaps when other pedestrians could easily cross over. Organisers of marches spoke beforehand to the police and if an officer gave us instructions we followed these. (Usually these were about traffic and avoiding accidents.) We respected the fact that the police were AT WORK and doing a job they do know about. London's estimated population is about 9.7 million people. Balancing everyone's rights is not simple.
Thumbs up, but people making dumb fear making comments on both side seem to only understand few words at a time.

The Met Police made the right call here, of course. But this man’s point is still valid.
The point is: any Pro-Palestine protester can walk through a Pro-Israel protest and will be unharmed. But anyone supporting Israel or visibly jewish walking through a Pro-Palestine protest can expect the looming threat of violence at best, or actual violence at worst. The Police are all too aware of that, and that is why they made the right call here, but that doesn’t mean we should ignore what this man is trying to convey.
The lawsuit may not go very far but this person’s message should.
In case this comment is not meant to be a joke, I would say this: Those cops do what's easier for them. It maintains the law and order dictated by those criminals. It should not be like that. A man of any sort should be able to express his rights regardless of some people's will. A protest should not be dangerous to anybody.

I think it's standard procedure to keep opposing groups separate at protests, it's obvious why, the police were preventing a worse situation. I don't really see this as anything new or surprising. His views are well known and approaching the group of protesters as closely as he wanted to was to aggrevate the situation, it was not an innocent stroll he wanted to approach them for a purpose. The right to protest exists in this country, interfering with that isn't cool. The right thing to do would have been to organise a counter-protest, I'm sure the police would probably try to stop pro-palestine individuals from approaching too closely to such a protest, as is sensible, to avoid a mass brawl

Maybe in an isolated way it would seem ok, but given more context it would be obvious to most that it is a provokation. What isn't clear in alot of the video is that he turned up with his own film crew and bodyguards. Especially given that the police officer offered him a low risk solution to help him to go about his business? I've also read today that he said he would "continue to attend these protests", which of course implies that he really was there to stir up trouble in the first place, and not there randomly.

Never saw this outcry when anyone is stopped by the police . This guy has one thing on his mind and it worked - he played everyone for a fool. The police were doing their job
I'm not a huge fan of the Met....but these officers got this absolutely correct. The gentleman was clearly desperate to either get arrested or inflame some kind of violence.
The Police officer should be commended. He was saying that he did not want to risk Gideon getting hurt by him taking the route he was insisting upon and suggested an alternative route. Responsible policing demonstrated.
The police officer is a Saint! I fear I could never show that level of calm patience. Falter is indeed just trying to prove a point. He wouldn't be allowed to cross the road if it was a state funeral, so why in this instance? Falter is just a person; please everyone don't dislike every person of his colour or religion just because of him.
Playing the victim as usual
The police were just doing their job. If he had gone further he would have disrupted a planned peaceful demonstration. The police used an unfortunate phrase to clarify an obvious point. He was lucky not to have been arrested.
This full video doesnt get enough air time and the media should report what actually happened not what this antagnoiser wants everyone to believe.
We’re looking at a war on truth.
His baiting tactics won't work. Pretending to be a victim while being the bully.
I don’t like London nowadays
Neither do I and have been keeping away since October when all these protests started kicking in.
Nobody does
Don’t go there then
Sad but London fell already, the Muslims are the majority there
@@ori1676 o shut up! Nothing has fallen, this is the uk, we live under uk law. Stop crying
The police officer is right and very polite
He went looking for confrontation, he wants trouble.
Why can't he go where he wants. Walking on central London as a jew isn't looking for trouble. Participation in anti jewish hate marches is looking for trouble
@@user-xt8pv3he3m Incorrect.
If the road is blocked, walk round. Carnivals, roadworks, marches, cycle events - they all block roads. Would Gideon have insisted on walking across the road had it been cordened off for roadworks or a cycle event?
Walking around would not get the reaction he wanted!
He could get some practice in walking across the M62 or across a busy railway, because 'he has a right to cross', just saying.
They don't place every week in the middle of a capital city.
I think this police officer is just doing his job.
For an unexpected event, it’s funny that he has a couple of minders following him. Does he go everywhere with them?
working for mossad
@@TheLuminousOne apparently it’s now been revealed that one of his “friends” works as security at the Israeli embassy.
I wonder if the IDF would have been more polite in the west bank?
Strange times we living in.. normal is not normal not normal is normal
Politcal hit job on Rowley.
How quick was Braverman in calling for his resignation?
Braverman's husband is Israeli Zionist
Spot On.
Trouble maker baiting the police how more pathetic can they get
Braverman was Home Secretary when she offended a Holocaust survivor. She was also Home Secretary when she called the marches ‘hate marches’.
Why wasn’t she sacked?
Well said. A really sensible question.
Is that the Gideon who spoke out about Tommy Robinson a supporter of the Jewish people? What goes around comes around
I am no fan of the police but seems the coppers in this clip were very polite, and had an abundance of patience with the chap, who just wanted to be a pain and cause a nusance.
💯
Any person should be free to walk where they want peacefully, without being harassed by rowdy crowds
@@jessicarule2148Go tell Israel that.
I have about 7 minutes on my phone of what was happening before this clip before such a large crowd emerged. Like in this video, the police officer was very patient even though he was repeating himself and this guy tried to barge past him however many times.
I thought a couple things. Firstly, there were so many 'openly Jewish' people there, therefore also questioned this phrase, I felt that it could be conveyed that Jews could not be themselves in this space, and that was not the case. For those that have not been, there are loads of Jews that attend these marches, literally wearing placards saying 'Jews for Palestine', 'holocaust survivor', etc etc. They also have their own little section that they march in with massive banners. Everyone for Palestine liberation is welcome at these marches, including Jews.
The other thing I thought was if this was a man of colour barging past him so many times, he would have been arrested very quickly.
It's the fact that this guy is somewhat known and has opposing views to what we were marching for which would have caused the provocation. His choice to have a 'leisurely stroll' in the middle of this march would be like me wanting to go for a leisurely walk amongst the London Marathon runners. The police officer's words were not correct but I do not believe he meant malice by it and maybe just chose his words incorrectly. I think he, as well as the police in general, were doing a good job of protecting everybody.
I wish I had spoken up I heard the officer say those words because I did not want pro-Palestinian supporters to be seen as non-inclusive of Jewish people, but didn't want to be on everyone's phones and didn't want to undermine the police officer.
In the end, I walked away when I got the general gist of what this guy wanted (attention) and saw the crowd getting bigger.
"They wouldn’t allow anybody with openly confrontational views walk through any march.
Doesn’t matter if he was a Chelsea fan trying to walk through a group of noisy Arsenal fans or him. The idea a protest by thousands of people should be cancelled because he couldn’t cross the road when he wanted is just hilarious. So entitled."
These marches are happening on a weekly basis he's not a football fan he's a Jew and Jews have been assured that they're safe in their own country which this clearly shows they're not ....Nothing to do with being entitled mate.
@@goldiegirl7247 hi there, for the love of god, is not that clear he was trying to provoke the police officers?
@@abuzarsultanov2995 he was proving that despite being told by the metropolitan police that Jews are safe, Jews are not safe in their own country.
The Met Officer was extremely patient with this man.
People like this are pissing on the graves of those that died in the camps. They can’t even see it.
"ObviouslyJewish" people have been walking with and participating in these protests for months. - the issue here is clearly he wanted to disrupt this protest- everything else is a red herring.
The police are doing their job. This guy clearly went there to cause trouble and came with plan. Now, he is searching for sympathy. Attention seeker..
He doesn't remotely look scared of the crowd /march, he was just hoping he could catch an antagonised 'moment' on camera to 'prove' his point . I've been on loads of these marches & they've always had not only a Jewish contingent on them, but holocaust survivors and their relatives marching alongside with others. If London was such an unsafe place for Jewish people why haven't these Jewish people been attacked? Or the Ultra-Orthodox Jews who turn up in support of Palestine & against Israeli oppression of Gaza? Of course individuals sometimes argue - it is an emotive issue, but Jewish people are not only on the march, but are welcomed. His belligerence despite being OFFERED safe route with a police escort another way shows he was looking for a confrontation to film.... There is nothing innocent about his actions. I'm Asian, but I wouldn't deliberately walk thru' an EDL march. Counter-protesting is fine, but that's clearly NOT what this man was trying to do.
As an aside, most Gazans don't feel safe walking across any of their streets either at the moment...
Well said!
Exactly! My grandfather survived the holocaust, Auschwitz, I have been on these marches, he is a trouble maker
Can we dial this back please, the police were trying to keep him safe and also allow protesting to go on. The officer may have used language that was clumsy, but there was no hate or animus behind the actions. Everyone needs to chill the f out, wars going on around the world will often inspire protests and it’s a vital part of democracy but we need to stop this holier than thou attitude with everyone jumping on each other for any tiny perceived offense real or imagined. Uk is a country of many different ethnicities and beliefs (or lack thereof from native born), we couldn’t undo that even if we wanted to as that decision was made long ago.
He deliberately want to cross the road, while one of his colleague will be amongst the protectors. To push him about. So they can justify the march is hate. Very cunning Devils.
Indeed .They'll try anything to stop anti-Israeli marches..
That's exactly what it was. People are noticing.
I always thought the UK is a free country. Hmmm, I was wrong.
DevilS??? like more devils. Explain
@@monicacarolina6480if the protesters suddenly decided they didn't want to walk their pre planned route. They wanted to veer off and walk a completely different route and block traffic are they allowed to walk where they want? When man u fans where bussed into Liverpool and escorted to and from the grounds by the police could a bunch of Everton supporters walk into the middle of them? No because that would cause a breach of the peace.
He could've walked there and back as directed by the very patient officer twice over.. length of the video.
*He should be arrested for failing to obey police orders
If a Muslim marched the wrong way through a pro Israeli march, you'd say he was a troublemaker or an antagonist or antisemitic this guy is anti-Islamic its very clear to see
My personal opinion is that they are all fanatics
I agree they are and the should keep their conflict away from our shores.
@feastables6 not everyone there is Palestinian 🤣🤣🤣 and not every English man is protestant hence the Jewish guy 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yet that is exactly what is happening. The marchers are preventing him from crossing the road of which he is entitled to do. It isn’t for us to be intimidated by crowds of terrorists. It is them that are provoking and costing the taxpayer millions when not one of the marchers are employed or have any knowledge of why they are marching.
Sure
This is not anti islam. Pro Palestime is all sort of people jewish people are also in this demonstrating. This men is right wing zionist group. Well done police officer.
thousands of open Jewish people attend every week all over the world, wear t-shirts and huge banners stating they are Jewish and come to no harm from the protesters or the police.
So it makes me wonder about this man who walked against the crowd and caused so much an issue that the police notice and approached him to tell him to take a different route round (even tho there were other open Jewish people in the protest).
And he could only cross the road at this particular point, not like ever road in the world, there are pedestrian crossings and corners. Yet he chooses to cross, directly amongst the protestors.
He went fishing and got caught, now it’s a political thing. It’s not hard too see
WOW this is wild stuff, straight out of the 1930's !.
