- Yes... we took our newborn on our annual extended family lake trip. Was it challenging, of course it was. But did we have fun? YES!!!

I’m a first time mama as well and my baby had SO many blowouts the first few months. I tried switching her to the next size up diapers to see if it would help. And it helped SO much! She rarely had blowouts after keeping her in a bigger diaper! Just a little mama advice!❤️
I did the exact same thing, my baby was 3 weeks and she wore size 1, by that time NB fitted her but those blowouts weren’t fun 😅 so this tips really works

As a grandma who raised our kids all over the world ( military) it is important to let your kids see things at a young age.
You guys are great parents
It is so hard in the beginning, you’re right, to do things like this. There is so much to remember and the thought of it going drastically wrong can be overwhelming. But once you are there, it’s always worth it. The sweet memories are worth the stress beforehand. I have found, as well, that with every trip, it gets easier and easier. You guys are rocking it, just like we all knew you would!

I really admire that you both are so positive! I know some days must be hard having a new born baby, but I can see the glow on your face! And this trully surprises me because all of my friends are having babies but they seem like they are living the worst, literally, and I just listen to them complain ALL the time. As I said it must be hard, but you are finding the balance with this new life! I hope and pray you continue to be this happy and much more!!

When we first started a family we lived a 12 hour drive away from either of our parents.
I was very homesick pretty much all of the time so I (yes, by myself) took a trip back home about every 3 months. Our oldest is 10 and the trips back home have slowed because they aren’t needed like they were then. With that being said, trips were much, much, much easier when the kids were younger! They just enjoyed playing with their toys and having their snacks and looking at the scenery around them. We took many longer stops and kicked a ball around at parks, or rode scooters, but now, they aren’t as content. Trips with younger kids are much easier in my experience. 😄
Matt carrying Abby in the water was SO cute! It's like they're still 14, and 15....Love it! Also, loved abby's heart necklace 💗

I just found you guys videos and your family is so cute. I gotta say though like I know Abbys around a being a good momma. But it's so refreshing to see a young new dad being the one to lead the videos and to be interacting with his son. I just just see the love Matt has for Griffin is so true and he shares such open and honest moments. I'm here for it. Lol I want a baby so bad haha the little matching outfits, griffin looks so precious. I'm already a night owl so I expect to be up at 4am with or without a baby one day haha. 🙃

I know this was a year ago, but I’m glad you took this trip even with a baby! My parents moved from Michigan (fellow Midwesterner here! I’ve lived all but one year of my life in MI) to Florida when I was about two weeks old! My mom and grandma drove with me and our dog and the moving van on the multiple-day drive. Crazy! But you’re good parents to be able to do a trip like that with such a young baby.

This was great!!! A lil advice, regular dawn dish soap, the blue, gets stains out really well. Just apply dish soap to area , scrub a little, wash and should take care of it. Saved a lot of my sons outfits that way 🥰
